I sang this recently for the karaoke. It went well though I was a bit more all over the place than before. I'm not even from Georgia, y'all, but close if you can believe it. Anyway my friends liked it.
Linda cracking up at the start of the song about "Ive Been Higher "is absolute gold! At least I think thats what she was laughing about? and Dollyys don;t judge comment was priceless. Three legends of music together
Beautiful tune about my hometown! I could listen to Alison sing all day anyway, but this makes it sweeter. Fine, tight band playing with her! Fantastic!
When I feel numb to the world, I listen to this song. One would have to be made of stone to not stream tears of sadness. I think this may be the most beautiful song ever recorded. I think this may be the saddest song ever written. "Maybe he'll fly on home." He's not coming back, Alison.
This song was originally performed by Bad Company, a British rock band that was popular during the 1970s. It is off the 1979 album “Desolation Angels”, and lead singer Paul Rodgers sang it. As for Alison Krauss, I like her because of her voice although I’m not country. She has deep connections with Robert Plant; he recorded one of my favorite tracks “Big Log”.
