The biggest problem you will face in India is language barrier, specially in Street food staller , I want to say that , they won't talk to much to you as you are an English man but they are humble and good , don't misunderstand them if they don't talk to you a lot, because they don't understand English

When I went to Udaipur recently massive road repair work was going on. Actually sewage and other piping work and lot of roads were blocked which were otherwise showing open in Google Maps.. So, he may be lying or may not be actually.

The tuk tuk wala said that the road is under construction and the shortest way on the map is not really accessible. So he has to take a longer route. Hence he asked more than normal.
