I compared Pro Display XDR Nano-texture glass model and standard glass model. Adding the two pro stands... They are about $13,000.
You need to differentiate anti-reflective finishing and anti-glare finishing. Normally, these two go together but in case of Pro Display XDR, these two were separated so it's a great example.
Anti-glare finishing is not the best weapon. It doesn't reflect the light less but it only disperses the light in various directions. In addition, due to this finishing, there is a disadvantage that the light coming from the pixel is dispersed too. Finally, if there are marginal rays, the contrast range and accuracy of color decrease as much as the light is reflected. If you really want to see accurate color, you need to control ambient light and in that environment, the advantage of anti-glare finishing becomes dull. Of course, if you use the monitor in a bright environment with high intensity of illumination, it is correct to use the anti-glare model.
Those of you who are planning to purchase the Pro Display XDR must check what kind of environment you would be using the monitor in and choose your options wisely.
