Most middle-class Japanese go to conveyor belt sushi. One plate costs 100 yen (about 1 dollar), and good parts are 200 yen (about 2 dollars). Side menus are 200 to 500 yen (2 to 5dollars). There are many types of side menus, such as ramen, udon, and soft. Drinks, assorted sushi, ice cream, cakes, parfaits and more. Sometimes there is meat. It's okay because each dish is sealed as a measure against corona. Please come visit us when you come to Japan.
We used to have a place here called Yo Sushi. Went there a few times. It's fun but you have to be really careful because it can add up really fast. But they had this super yummy matcha dorayaki with raspberry dipping sauce for dessert.
I like how DB doesn't try to exaggerate or yell '''WOAWH THIS IS AMAZING''' at every single dish he tries, but actually gives an honest opinion of what he thought. Good on you, DB. Keep on keepin' on.
Actually I've been to a similar place and it fills you up pretty quick. We had I think ten plates both and then we were full but squeezed in mochi ice cream as an dessert.
Him picking up the shrimp plate: Ok start to peel the shrimp: Ok Stops peeling the shrimp midway: um sir Shrimp goes off screen: 👁👄👁 Shrimp head is gone: 👁👄👁 💧 💧
I eat the whole shrimp including the tail and the legs. If the shrimp is small enough. If it is big, then u can't because it is so hard. I don't get it why people throw away some shrimp parts. They only eat the meat.. It's a waste.
@matthew scoles i get that. normally i do try to slurp out the juice but rarely do i ever eat the whole head. It's the thought of the brain, eyes, and etc that gets me. lol. like i said, some food takes courage.
There was 24 plates from what I could count so that’s 24 dollars atleast and then there’s the 8 cents so 24x0.08=1.92 so then 24+1.92=25.92 he paid 25.92 for all those plates
It's like 25 in euros. (He spend 30.59$ usd in the video) Hell yeah i would like to eat there too. Here 16 piece set of sushi is like 16 euros, but it only means 16 pieces literally. In the video there were 2 at one plate in some of them.
@@KylxT still VERY inexpensive compared to american prices because we have to pay taxes and service charges aka: tips as well , along with the high priced sushi ,,,,,, :-|
Went to one of these frequently at a Maruetsu when my Dad was still stationed in Japan. It's a few minutes drive from the base so it was a good dinner option. Some people will probably know which base I'm talking about.
Oh-oh-oh! Cruel author! You are teasing poor Westerners with the yummiest sushi and desserts at the price none of us has in their countries!!! Stay safe in SG!
I want to leave the US so bad it’s such a shit show here and poor ppl just get fat because cheap food here is hardly food at all 😭 if we had stuff like this there would probably be a lot less cancer and diabetes.
Man, I have stumbled into the RU-vid rabbit hole hard these past few weeks!!!! Off grid living. Narrowboat cruising. Now conveyor belt sushi. Damn, I live a sheltered life!!!
I literally just ordered sushi for $35 (NZD) from Uber, and all it got me was 10 salmon rolls, a salmon salad bowl, and 2 pieces of nigiri... Meanwhile you got 40+ plates worth of orders and it came to only $30 USD. I’m not sure whether I feel more jealous or amazed!
Same here in Aus! Least its not of bad quality near me. I used to live in Sydney and my local sushi place was horrible. Now I live in regional Victoria and the sushi is much better here even though I'm 2 hours away from any beach!
@@zo3478 Do you think everyone on here are children or something? Do you think we don't all know what the difference in currencies are when we use money DAILY? This person used their LOCAL currency as an example in how expensive it usually is to them! Are you daft? Don't be a condescending twat commenting unnecessarily!
Zachary Osman The current conversion rate from SGD to NZD is around 70 cents. You’ll need to times that 70 cents by at least 3 to get $2, which is, on average, what a single piece of sushi costs where I live. One. Single. Piece. So, uh... Good luck getting 24 plates of sushi for $42 SGD (converted) in New Zealand. Our prices are actually pretty steep here... if you’re a local that is, oof
People are being really ignorant in these comments about being gross and unsanitary that he’s using his hands to use the sushi. That how you’re supposed to eat sushi. It’s weirder to eat it with chopsticks in Japan. It’s a cultural thing and they keep everything very clean and sanitary in Japan so if people could stop being ignorant and calling another culture gross just because it is different from yours that would be great.
The first time I had sushi way back in the 80s I wasn't sure how to eat it and the sushi chef said you use the little water/lemon bowl to wash your hands and the little towelettes and then you can use either your hands or chopsticks as you prefer. The chef also explained to dip the fish only into soy sauce and this chef didn't like it when people put the Wasabi into the soy and discouraged it but it doesn't seem to be a huge faux pas now a days. 🍣🍣🦪🦪 My date did stop me from eating the whole flower of wasabi even tho I'm sure that would have been quite the prank to pull on a first timer 🤣
I've been making it at home. Sure not raw fish as I live too far from the sea to get decent sushi safe fish but I use surimi cooked shrimp and nova lox smoked salmon and lots of veggies. Its so fun to make the maki rolls with the bamboo mat. When my grandkids help they tend to actually eat it. They get to choose what they put in. But its not real sushi as they like ham and cheese with cucumber and tomato lol. They dip into mayo tho. Does that count?
Sushi express also has a takeout shop, they sell $3HKD per sushi or you can be boogie and buy boxed ones cuz they are usually better in quality than the cheaper ones (buying piece by piece) Sushi express is all over Hong Kong, both the conveyor belt restaurants and take out stores For me I think it’s reli nice to have a fast take out sushi in a kinda low price :3 Well of course if you’re talking about quality I would go to another place but this restaurant/take out store is for fast cheap delicious sushi
They do, at least on the West Coast! I live in Seattle and there are several conveyor belt sushi places nearby. Not quite so cheap, but still tasty and fun.
There is, Like the comment above there’s a plethora of conveyor belt sushi restaurants on the west coast, there’s a certain chain sushi restaurant called Kura that has the same premise of very affordable conveyor belt sushi where almost every plate is only $2
@@albinoDlN0 okay but not everyone lives in large cities. I have to drive over an hour away just to find the closest Asian market. When we say we wish we had it in the us, we mean in not just the most populous cities
@@krissykriss328 I have a specialist Dr from the Phillipines and he is the nicest guy and a great doctor. We always discuss foods while he is electrocuting me for the nerve tests. His nurse(who is my cousin) picks on us and says he's not doing his job right if we are in there laughing and carrying on lol.
@@Emeraldwitch30 yes !!!! Soooo many sweet people from the Philippines,,,,, and it's funny about your doctor bc my best friend is a nurse !!!! Take care and stay safe my friend ,,,, all the way from Arizona is where I am .....:-D
I’m from LA. I went to Taipei for 4 months in 2018. I stayed in Neihu. We had 2 or 3 sushi expresses . I would eat here regularly after work or if I was hungry and didn’t wNna spend much. Miss it
If there is minimal rice, it is quite easy to eat alot more sushi. The rice is the filler and most sushi restaurants rely on the customer filling themselves with it.
The sushi looks good! Wish there was one in Pennsylvania! always wanted to try Asian food. I'm not a big fan of spicy stuff on food...but I would always like to try something different.
I love eating at a conveyer belt. It makes me feel like I am hunting. I watch the item I want and hope no one else gets it...then snatch it when its within reach!
i remember my cousin taking me to one in LA it was freaking heaven i loved it every plate you grab is 1-2$ and your totally will be however many plates you picked up so its great you can go in there take 2 plates of your favorite sushi pay 2 dollars and your out i wish i can go again.
grilled eel/unagi was my favorite to order but I can't have it anymore because it comes to most places in cheap soy sauce which contains wheat (I have celiac disease now). I miss the dish so much :(
Love how you ate with your hands and dipped the top of the sushi into the soy sauce first! That's actually how you're supposed to eat sushi and its nice to see you enjoy the sushi the proper way!!
I've watched this several times and it's fascinating! I need a place that combines all that lovely fish with a grill at each table. It would be perfect then.
