I'll try to cover some of the things you were too busy jabbering to cover. It's currently $103.99 USD on Amazon, 52cc chinese generic engine 2.7-2.9 hp, weight 14.7 lbs full fuel, uses 25-1 fuel/oil mix, 22" bar with a common chain, and you'd be surprised how good a saw it is. Great homeowner saw, actually cuts better with a 20" Oregon bar and chain. It's bloody heavy, fairly easy start, 30-60 second warm-up, 1 pull re-start and good reliability if maintained. This thing has more than enough power to put you down if you ever forget the word "safety", or if you ignore the phrase "pay attention". Use 91/93 octane ethanol-free with stabilizer, clean air filter, and it starts and runs like a champ. Keywords for any chain saw: Fresh fuel, stabilizer, ethanol-free, then common normal maintenance = long, reliable life, happy user.
@@AmericanPiddler We thought about a channel. I own a Ag Equipment shop, and we also do some small engine repair. My guys do the RU-vid looking, they say 80% of the info is bogus. Also, for about 3 months, we sold some of those cheap chinese saws, string trimmers, post hole diggers, etc. My guys called them "1/3 saws", which means that 1/3 of them will work OK, 1/3 will have some problems but can be fixed, and the last 1/3 will be useless junk right from the start. But because so many of them outright failed within 3 months, I shut it down. I stand by what I sell, but there was just no way I could keep those things working and make profit at it. My advice is to bite the bullet, spend more money, buy a good one to begin with, like a Stihl, Echo, Husqvarna, and you'll never have all the problems those chinese saws have. And after you've owned it for 10 years or more, you'll know I'm right. By the way, we also sell ethanol-free gas, but it's just 91 octane pump gas that we precipitate out and drain away the ethanol using a process one of my guys developed. We sell it for $4.00/gallon and we include a stabilizer, a lot cheaper than buying from a big box store that charges $20.00 and more for 2 gallons. If anybody wants the process, let me know.
@@philliplawerence5784 very well said! You know the Ethanol free is good if you are not using your fuel quickly but we've never had any trouble because we either use it or buy fresh fuel! Also I think most problems occur from the owner & not the manufacturer regardless of initial cost! A mistreated thousand dollar saw will fail before a well maintained 100 dollar throw away saw and yes it may need some tuning or Piddling but it comes down to your tool husbandry! Thanks for Sharing your knowledge we can use guys like you on our channel!
This is a Zenoah Clone. Chinese original design and actually a really good saw. Zenoah is now owned by Husqvarna. I have a 63cc version and just got a 38cc version, should have an unboxing up on the 38 here in a few days. You will probably like this saw. Gonna keep an eye out for a first cuts video by ya.
Cy sure appreciate ya stopping by & appreciate your knowledge on the subject! I'll be by to check out your channel! This kind of support is what our community needs! 2019 is going to be the year for this channel & many others!

I'm a journeyman tree trimmer who trims trees for the power lines. I usually use Stihl or Husqvarna. When someone broke into my garage and walked off with my personal stuff, I needed some saws quick and didn't have the extra cash to buy expensive ones. I took a gamble and bought this exact one with a 22 inch bar, then the 2500 trim saw with a 10 inch bar. They've held up excellent in the past month, ripping through a hickory, large oak, 2 crab apples, mulberry and a few spruces. I'm shocked that I paid less than $200 for both.
Yep I love both my Chinese saws they both needed a little adjustment and I run them a touch rich for peace of mind. I run fresh fuel and red armor oil and couldn't be happier I trimmed my entire property with the little climber and no trouble at all I'm gallons of fuel into both saws and have no regrets! Thanks for watching and Keep on Piddling #americanpiddler
Most of the Chinese chainsaw brands has many parts of the major brands for instance I have Niwa chainsaw one handed the bar is an organ many parts of the engine is Stihl and a forest and garden excellent saws there both knocked of Chinese brands I have had them both over 12 years and use them both every day for work but as the price difference between a stihl and Chinese mostly is changing the chain is a nerve braking on the Chinese a few other little problems but with pachince and time it’s definitely worth buying Chinese brands
i have 2 of these saws and no issues running 40:1 at all right out of the box..very reliable saws for the money just take care of them n they will last a good while
I purchased this same model from Amazon. The ignition coil died after about 5 hrs. use. The pull cord stretched about 2"...cut off the excess now all is good. Chinese chains stretch, but at 1/2 the cost of Stihl this is a minor inconvenience. The saw starts easy enough and cuts 20" hardwood logs with ease. At this price buy 2 so you have a spare while waiting on parts. UPDATE: The pull cord broke again. A new cord is supplied with the recoil assembly from ebay so I replaced the assembly. $15 for this part is super cheap. The saw is still a bargain IMO.
hi from australia bought one of these for fire wood for $87.00 aus free postage and i love it you are going to be surprised tools and chain are throw aways i put a oregon chain on and big difference may put oregon bar on next winter
I used to buy american because I thought it was going to jobs in America but I found out the name brands had laid off the Americans and had their's manufactured in China kept the price the same pocketed the profits on lower labor cost. I don't feel bad buying the Chinese copies of American anymore

This is the first comment I looked for. Even before he mounted it solid and just mocked it up, I was like "that's not gunna work so great like that..."
I see on the box many displacement sizes. I have read that the higher displacement saws are all 52cc. Have you tested the other sizes to see if they are misrepresented?
I'm an ownwer of husqvarna and stihl chainsaws. Until I tried chinese chainsaw costing $65; ive never looked for my husky and stihl again. You need to upgrade some small things in chines chasaw though. Chinese chansaw usually comes with crappy chains and filters - so relace those with sithls or oregon.
I have one of these saws. The manual is in all Chinese (no English manual whatsoever) and I came here looking for instructions on how to tighten the chain. In other known brand chainsaws there’s a little hole where you insert a screw and tighten the saw. I can’t find this in the saw. Can you please show me how to tighten the chain?
Yeah, that double box stunt is deceptive. A quick look at that box and I noticed all the available engine displacements. I'd love to have the 72cc version if I can find it. Problem is I don't know what this saw is and and there is no link to it in the description. Any info helps.
@@AmericanPiddler My bad. I skipped right over it. You have a Ridgeyard 52cc saw. I've seen this before. Not certain but I think it's the same saw as the ExtremePowerUS 52cc chainsaw. If there is a 72cc version of this saw it either doesn't have the Ridgeyard name on it or I just can't find it on Amazon.
Interested in the cheep saw.... Operationally, but I saw another video for the same saw, they indicated the filter had to be modded with additional O-ring and top washer to make it seal for engine longevity.
Good job on the video! I have thought long and hard on buying one of these saws and I think you have made up my mind. I'm gonna start looking today, gotta have one. great channel!
Well we haven't ran it yet! But if it runs good you can follow the Amazon link in the description and that's our affiliate link and it helps the channel!
John we very well may give that a go in a future episode! I sure appreciate you watching and look forward to hearing from you in future episodes! Thanks again for stopping by!
like the video, subscribed, just ask that your background music volume is a little less when your talking. Makes it harder for old men, like me, to understand your comments.
I have had mine for a while now and am very pleased both Chinese saws keep up and run with my high dollar saws! Thanks for watching hope ya subscribed and Keep on Piddling #americanpiddler
That saw may be an unbranded Husquvarna (or some other make; I don't know my chainsaws). It's not too uncommon for several different brands to come out of the same right out of the same factory. Take one item, slap on "no-name" stickers and toss it in a plain cardboard box. $100 tool Take the next item off the line, affix the "Premium" decals, put in in a carrying case, & place the carrying case into a glossy-print box. $300 tool
I just reviewed the same saw(s). Two different named saws from two separate sources. Interested to see if we have the same outcome and opinions. I did four videos with the two saws if you are interested.
I bought a 100 dollar Husquvarna clone, and the first issue I had was I followed the first start directions and it would not start. After 4 days of letting it sit I figured out that I needed to start it like any Husqy. Don't use the primer bulb. Just choke it and pull. After I got it running, and it ran well, I ran a tank of fuel through it letting it break in a bit and realized they had the top end to low, bogging it out while cutting, so I adjusted it out and it cuts like a champ. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another when this one dies. So far it has gone through 40 cords and still running strong.
William send me am email at AmericanPiddler@gmail.com and I will send you any link you need it is in the description you have to scroll down below the video thanks for watching and Keep on Piddling!
The Chinese can build some good brand name stuff . As for Chinese building their own stuff 🤔 reminds me of an old girlfriend - looks great from afar but far from great :)
Get ya a pair! From anywhere heck direct from them, doesn't matter fact is there worth 100 bucks IMO and stay tuned cause were going to try and give a set of the Liberate 2.0's away to one lucky viewer! In an upcoming episode! Btw thanks for watching and for saving the viewer a buck or two!
Just found your channel today.... have watched several and have Subscribed. : ) Just one (hopefully) Constructive "critique"... turn the background music Down.... or better yet, don't even edit it into your videos. It's Not that I don't like banjo pickin, because I do.... but, it's just distracting... and at the volume you have it, it makes it hard to hear what your saying... at least in this particular video it is. Thanks!....and keep on Piddlin. ; )
@@AmericanPiddler Same comment from me to mate, an Aussie here, a lot of us guys ( females included) who watch these are usually those who have had enough of high priced dealerships wanting to charge the world for repairs and tuning. That usually means we have had a few years experience and with that a few years of hearing loss as well. When we are more interested in the technical side of your vids...not listening to music that often makes it hard to hear the main details. So, yes please, keep the BACKGROUND music on the lowish side and make it easier for us to hear your good engine gospel words...lol.
Since I have used chain saws for years, i got a hearing disability (that and I got old) and English is not my primary language, I have difficulty to listen to this video, because of the background music, it disturb my concentration and makes is hard to follow your intructions.
Please put me on the list for a sticker! I've been covering my air compressor with cool stickers for about a year now. I have a few RU-vidr's stickers but I need more. Thanks and keep the vids coming
@@AmericanPiddlerthanks buddy that's awesome! I can't wait. I'll have to make a quick vid showing my collection one day. Sending the email now, thanks again
The video is a little goofy, but watchable. The music, however, totally sucks. Waaaaay too loud; it drowns out the narrative. I had to quit watching. Why does anyone need music to watch a video about a chainsaw anyway??
