Sadly this video is misleading. The chart is a rough estimate but no indication is given to food consumed and metabolism. The best way is to compare is vs a proper breathalyzer. Yes the higher number errs on the side of caution, but I’d wager the higher priced is more accurate. Most people are quite intoxicated at 0.16 … none of the people in this video appeared anywhere near that condition.
With credit to @TheGamersCake the Backtrack measures Blood Alcohol Concentration i.e.. BAC while Vastar most likely measure mg/L i.e.. milligrams of alcohol per liter of breath. According to studies available online the conversion of a BAC reading of 0.05 is 0.24 mg/L, 0.3 BAC = 0.14mg/L and 0.6 BAC = 0.29mg/L ..meaning the Vastar was in fact under evaluating the level of intoxication. That being said, this does not explain the chart shown the video with a larger expected BAC than what was shown on the BACtrack, this is worrying. my solution wait as long as u need , till you blow under under , then wait another 30 60 mins and get yourself home. Watch an ep or a RU-vid vid, its not worth losing your license , or worse .. hurting someone, maybe someone's child, seen it happen, 4 kids dead.... not worth it.
I can't seem to find this particular breathalyzer anywhere online to buy it. It isn't available on Amazon and none of the links in the description work to find it. Couldn't find where to buy it on their website either. Is it discontinued? Is there another breathalyzer similar in accuracy and price that is available to recommend? I'd really like to buy this particular model if possible.
I just finished my urine test bottle, and I purchased a breathalyzer. The question is it showed 0 on me, I have been cutting sugars for 2 months, and I lost 8kg, I have cheat meal once awhile, but it always deep color on my urine test... does the breathalyzer tell me I am not a fat adapter yet? I loss weight because of intermit fasting only?
Yuchen - did you get the AB130 or an identical clone like the AT6000? Here's what I did. If you don't get any reading on the AT6000, stick the blow tube in the top of a bottle of isopropyl alcohol to get the fumes and see if it is working at all. Usually, these meters will measure alcohol when they are not measuring ketones/acetone. Then, do another test WITHOUT blowing into it to make sure all the fumes are gone. You should get a 0.00 reading. THEN, do another test by blowing into it. I think you'll find that somehow the alcohol revives the sensor or kicks the software into operation and you get an ACCURATE reading of your ketosis level.
That Vastar AB130 looks identical to the AT6000. I wonder if there is a label on the back saying AT6000? Anyway, If the time comes when you don't get any reading on the AT6000, stick the blow tube in the top of a bottle of isopropyl alcohol to get the fumes and see if it is working at all. Usually, these meters will measure alcohol when they are not measuring ketones/acetone. Then, do another test WITHOUT blowing into it to make sure all the fumes are gone. Mystery47 I have the AT6000 which i bought from Amazon 2 weeks ago. I’ve tried everything and still get a 0.00 reading. I’m sure I must be in ketosis - but no reading is so frustrating. Any tips??
@@karenrussell5509 - I'm in your boat, Karen. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I'm not sure if I'm not trying hard enough to be carbohydrate free or what. Actually, I got so fed up with the Keto diet and feeling so tired and weak that I went back to eating "good" carbs. I'm 75 but I like to compete in the NYS Senior Games in the shot put and discus events and I can't be having poor workouts with the Games coming in June. Something I've tried to adopt what this generation calls Intermittent Fasting. Basically, you eat during an 8 hour window and don't eat (fast) for the following 16 hours. Back in my day we called that eating breakfast at 7am, lunch at Noon and dinner at 5pm. In those days, we didn't have the tendency to constantly graze on snacks and we didn't have those 500 - 1000 calorie lattes to drink. We ate our three meals and drank plain coffee. No sodas, no ice cream, no pastries etc. Those were treats - not a constant consumable. So, we were getting thousands of calories LESS per day and were a lot slimmer because of it. We substituted cigarettes for grazing. No calories there.
@@karenrussell5509 - I just discovered something. When I first got your comment, I tried blowing on my AT6000 and got a 0.00 reading. But, the next day, I had to start the colon cleansing for a colonoscopy. The day before the appointment you are only allowed clear liquids. So, I've been drinking apple juice, light grape juice and the colon cleanse solution they give you. I tried the AT6000 again and I blew a 0.38 which is almost into a light ketosis. That makes me wonder how since apple and grape juices are sugars/carbs. It almost seems as if hunger/starvation is more important than carb intake. You don't realize how much you eat until you are not allowed ANY solid food.
Hi thanks for your replies. I’ve been on Keto for about 10 months now and it’s been brilliant for my health. I’m off Type 2 diabetic meds, blood pressure & cholesterol meds too and great weight loss. Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue is almost zero now. It’s turned my life around. I got my AT6000 machine to work today by VERY GENTLY blowing into it. Maybe that’s the trick. It read 0.30 dunno if that’s good. Stick with it guys 👍👍
Well 0.44 is a high enough BAC to kill someone (non-alcoholic) or at least induce severe alcohol poisoning. Regardless, that was most likely an extremely inaccurate exaggeration.
Was there something wrong with the S80? Even the POS keychain Bactrack Go I got was more true to the number of drinks I'd had than this S80 appears to be.
the official scheme you using as reference.. are elevated to a higher then average norm, and that is simply because they wont risk, that person simply can come and say.. I used that schematic as any ref-guidance and it was way off.....so take such BAC guidance columns with a pinch of salt 2:35 it is usually with a safety margin and will indicate a higher BAC number in regards to what the person will blow, and it does make sense if you think about it.. you averaging above a huge margin.. "a beer" what is that? a 4% or a 14% beer... a 14% beer is not that uncommon.. though it tastes like cr4p but still.. so a BAC guidance column with something as crude as "number of drinks" - is relative at best and will have a margin as "better be safe than sorry".. Was that unit to over+100USD with a fuel cell sensor? I have purchased 3 different versions. one to 10USD /Greenwon one to 15USD Xiaomi and One to 40USD can't recall the name on the latter, both that one is with fuel cell sensor according to specs and app and all that yazz.. though here to Denmark so also incl. are +25% VAT but looking forward to see if I can sense any difference... though still in transit. // Baktrack S80 seems to use an Xtend Fuel cell sensor.. same is the case for law enforcement in the car and usually an IR bench infrared cell sensor on the station... though law enforcement is continuously calibrated.
