I'm 48 and I have been a hardcore deer and turkey hunter all my life. A few months ago my health started declining and been really hard to deal with. Although it's hard for me to walk I'm going to go hunting now thanks to you. Solo. I needed a blind like this that's lightweight, easy to carry, throw it up real quick. No noise. Rut is right around the corner here in Missouri and I have something to look forward to. Thank you my friend
Did the same thing with some camo fannel, the kind at Walmart, just ran a piece of paracord along the top, grab some sticks laying on the ground, shove them into the ground and hang the fannel across it, tying it off with some nearby trees, very light, portable. always spray some deer scent on it, helps hide my scent, and movement. have to hunt public land, this works for me.
Excellent. I’m a hard working man that doesn’t have the money to blow like my 17 year old son does on expensive hunting gear. I’ll be making this next week. I’ve already got some camo netting to use. I’ll pick up another length of burlap and cut what I have to ghillie it. Duck opens back up on the 17th here in MN. Be back at it soon.
Great idea, they also sell pretty similar pieces of equipment at Cabela's for like $12 on sale. Might not last as long but a little cheaper and a time saver if you don't want to run around and get materials. Nice to see confirmation that you don't need the fancy ground blinds everybody pushes.
Thank you for a great idea. Have used regular ground blinds. This option is really portable. Not working where its at. Take down and reset . Have my 2 burlap with third on order and the wife is picking up the post tomorrow. Going to set a couple of these up next weekend for bow season in a couple weeks. GL and HH
Right on , it is great to see somebody not spending big dollars to go hunting ! That's the way me and my boys hunted on the cheap and we killed a lot of deer .
I already have all the parts and was thinking of something similar, but this idea is the set up I'll be using. Thanks man! Oh and at today's prices its right around $25 total (incl tax) in my area.
I just returned my expensive 3 man pop up bind it was a great blind but a little heavy packing with all my gear and popping up was easy but tear down was a pain in the ass especially hunting in the evening when the sun sets and packing up in the dark was a hassle...just bought me some cheap camo netting from Walmart and I'm rigging up a similar set up I like the idea of a fast set up and tear down and keeping my gear light for long travel...might post a video and my next project...will be transportation I am going to use a fat tire mountain bike and bike trailer to haul gear or game hope to post video soon
I saw these stakes in the Tractor Supply store and came up with the same idea. I built 2 all ready with army surplus forest green leafy camo net I had laying around. I want to build a couple with burlap like yours next. They are nice and light and are great for running and gunning or just set them up on your property and hunt the wind.
Should have looked for the Allen burlap with laser cut leaf patterns in it. I got 2 sheets of it for 20 bucks from Walmart last year. Looks a lot more natural when ur walking by ur blind. Lol they make decent toilet paper in a pinch too. A lot better than the heavier Allen brand burlap.
I thought that was the main purpose of it. Just bought some of the burlap last night because I'm not comfortable in tree stands. Now I can just relax in a folding chair!!!
@@dans4270 I've got a friend that goes out and will sit on a 5 gallon bucket no blind. Smokes cigarettes if he's in a tree. Watches videos on the phone. He fills his tags every year.
You can make one out of some cow fence panels, zip ties, pine branches, and burlap and it works great,you just make it look like a brush pile and it will even trick big bucks because it helps mask your scent also
I thought when I started googling I would find bargain blinds for around $20-$25 but was shocked at what those things cost. This is more like what I need, anyway.

it seems what's behind you is almost as important as what's in front when setting up a blind... set them up so, not only can you see in front, you don't have to worry about being seen from behind...
