rear suspension magically transformed into long travel suspension, new seat / rear fender fell out of the sky and happened to fit perfectly, new forks, new front wheel with disc brake, heck, are the any parts from the original motorcycle?
Great work! Please beware of the dangers of drill thin sheet metal in a drill press with twist bits. I would suggest using Hardwood backing block/boards and secure the stock with a clamp close to drill site. Very bad things happen when a drill press grabs thin sheet and starts whipping around a giant blade. Drilling by hand with a step bit is the best way to drill thin sheet. Also using the backing block can help in many different drilling operations.
What you doing, there was nothing wrong with it , it looked newish just dirty, you’ve probably devalued it, I have had bikes all my life, you could have sold it an buy a Yamaha DT125R or something, look nice though 👍🏻
@@slimfit767 we're not haters, we're lovers! Probably old career motorcycle mechanics like me who have had to hacksaw through a connecting rod and beat a melted piston out with a wooden block. We love this stuff. Hell, we did it for 50 yrs, so we're allowed to comment.
Опыт весь набирается со временем занимаюсь всем этим, каждый второй кто ездит уже с детства или молодости знает каждый советский мотоцикл почти до винтика
From the beginning the motorbike was dirty and full of rust, after restoration the motorbike looked attractive and looked clean again. the price here is around 3 million or 200 dollars in that area... surely if you sell it again you can make more profit, bro.
The original bike was a valuable restoration, sorry but what you turned it into wasn’t worth 1/5 of the value it could have been. And that “repair” on the head stem is dangerous.
What do you mean what he turned it into it’s all original pretty much except for prices that couldn’t be saved and some dab work you know very little about what your talking about lmao
He did cut part of the frame but who cares. People still turn old bikes in cafe racers, bobbers etc. there’s different factors and a big one I hate is people that hoard bikes and cars, parts and drive the prices through the roof
Very good work done putting the bike together, smart mechanical work however when the bike was all put together some necessary care with the engine breaking should be given specially when the engine was started in which moderate raving was applied. Keep up the good work .!
Looks fun but bike runs like absolute shit. Changing a whole pipe, adding reeds and not even changing the jetting. Bike runs like crap. But fun build! And nice part on the welds.. I’m a shit welder
The original bike was a valuable restoration, sorry but what you turned it into wasn’t worth 1/5 of the price. a great potential project ruined… also that head stem “repair” is just plain stupid
Was this bike pretreated with dirt? The head pipe finish is in unbelievable condition after just brushing it off. I see 10 year old bikes with more corrosion.
Io personalmente, non l'avrei convertita in moto da cross per non fargli perdere il valore storico, giustamente ognuno la pensa come vuole, complimenti per l'ottimo lavoro svolto
Nice job . Screw the value of the bike . The value to the owner is what's key and his gift to the internet world . So for you restoration purists...if you have nothing good to say keep it to yourself and spare us your entitled judgment.
Such a bullshit! I hate it when youtubers cover there bikes in dirt and then clean it! On this bike is not a tinie bit of rust. Its fake! The build in the end is still amazing! But dont prepare the bike with fake dirt at first!
Hey Man!!! This is so unfair!!! It is really not fair that you have the skills and tools and money for parts and time on your hands to do this and I don't! It's very unfriendly and not fair to put it in my face like this so cut it out!
Oh wow… I was confused by the picture in the title of the vid but after watching muttering to myself,” what the hell?” I ve got to say WELL DONE!! I didn’t know where you were going but damn!!! I’d say you created a Montessa looking vintage hybrid! Not sure of the gearing, steering geometry, suspension setup or how it would ride on a track… but looks and sounds great! As mentioned by others… I’d be VERY careful if you do take it on a track…. Shade tree mechanic stuff isn’t the same as properly engineered parts. But still a neat project!!!
