Brooke, tell your sister that picadio is a Spanish poor-man’s meal and you can put any vegetables that you want. It also does not have to just ground beefbeef. It can be with shredded or ground chickenchicken and ground chorizo as well. And she needs to start her channel as well. Y’all are awesome, and I feel right at home with you guys. Oh ladies.. My Mum and Grammamma have been gone many, many years now and yet, whenever I'm peeling potatoes I can still hear them saying, "Girl, I better be able to see through those peelings when you get done peeling those potatoes!" They weren't kidding either. They would inspect all my peelings when I finished. It was the same for cucumbers, beets, whatever veggies I was in charge of peeling. What I wouldn't give to hear either of those wonderful women yelling at me about my peelings. ❤

What happen next was funny and teaches you that the world is a small place after all. Me 5 seconds into the video - turning phone screen toward my husband, "Does she look familiar to you?" Husband - "Well... I don't know if she looks familiar but she sure sounds familiar." Me checking out the the channel page to see if there is any hint about where you're from - "SHE'S TALBOT!" Husband (chuckling) - "That explains why she sounds familiar." We lived in Morristown from '91 to 2014. We live in Florida now. I'm homesick for the Tennessee mountains, I subscribed. Between you and Becky (hillbilly kitchen) should help sooth that longing a bit.☕👵

One of my family’s cheapest meals and still favorite is to make spaghetti, save a bit of the pasta water, add a tiny bit of butter in the pan and fry the spices in it (salt/pepper/garlic powder/onion powder/red pepper flakes) add the pasta and the pasta water. Plate and eat. It was and still is our favorite. And it costs like $1.50 to make enough for 5.

I loved this! You two need to do this more often. Maybe have someone make up your grocery list, then you both come up with your own recipes using the ingredients. Emily needs her own channel. I love you all!

She did such a good job! That meat and veggies in the instant pot and served with tortillas is a common meal in the Mexican house. I serve it with rice cooked in that tomato bullion she used and refried beans on the side. That meat base will stretch into 2 meals and a lunch for her. LOL I used to make it all the time!

We tried the tater mater soup tonight and I served it with cheese toast. It was a hit with my kids! Thank you for sharing!

A cheap family fave I used to feed my kids: canned chicken, entire bag of egg noodles, cream of chicken soup, 2 cans water, sautéed onions, mixed frozen veggies or frozen peas & carrots, mixed & put in a casserole dish then topped with cubbed bread. Bake until bread is toasted.

Just made mater tater soup it’s delicious I did make it with diced onions tomato bouillon tomato paste and tomato sauce (with garlic basil oregano) I used a huge amount of garlic I will definitely be making more of Emily’s recipes. She needs her own page. ❤

I found in my family tears ago when we had been sick over and over especially with strep was that we needed to throw out our toothbrushes. They are bacteria traps and keep giving back the germs. Just a helpful hint. Hope y'all feel better. All family toothbrushes should go out because of the close storage.😊 you and your family are delightful

Really enjoyed the vlog. Brooke, I don't usually tell people what to do, but tell your sister to get a can of Microban spray it kills germs very great, tell her spray every inch of her home doors, door knowbs lights switches, bathrooms the car spray the bedrooms, the beds the pillows the reason it will kill any germs lingering just spray the floor if the kids lay on the floor. Tell her to soak her dishes glasses, silverware after each use, use a capfull of bleach to help kill the germs. I only know this because when my kids catch a cold I get the microban and start spraying to prevent anyone else from getting sick.

I am enjoying your chaos. I have so much of my own on a regular basis. Makes me feel like I'm not alone. Want to share my potato peeling history. Dad made Sunday dinner every week. My job was to fill up the "potato pot" from the storage baskets under the workbench in the far, dark end of the cellar. If i peeled the tats too thick, the pot wouldn't be full, needing me to go back for more! This is how I learned, real quick, to peel the tats thin enough to fill the tater pot properly. This did not apply to my brothers. Thanks Dad.

I love you and your sister. Y’all remind me of me and my sister, kindred spirits. I have to use a peeler or I would waste a potato away peeling it. My sister can peel one to perfection. lol. We cook completely different. She cooks by add a little here and there where I have to measure pretty much everything. We are best friends and have the best relationship.
