I noticed one of the items was Sarah Coventry. That jewelry was popular in the 1960s and 1070s in the US. I believe you could only order from an individual (kind of like Tupperware or Avon). Very good quality costume jewelry.

Yes, I remember my Mom having a Sarah Coventry Parting in the early 60s. It was just like Tupperware in that one friend would have a party and then convince her best friends to 'book a party'. At the end of the day, the entire group of friends had ended up going to numerous parties and buying more than they wanted or needed...because it was for a friend. It would eventually just become too much and a few feelings would be hurt. It would start all over again with Tupperware and then Stanley... LOLOLOL

Some stick pins are made from gold. I found one in a box of costume jewelry at an estate sale. The gold stamp was tiny and applied on the pin itself, just as earrings are frequently marked...on the post or wire.

my grandparents lived in Hawaii in the the 70s. those "gold" cover leaves were all the rage...small Hawaiian Maile leaves. The maile leaf/lei is a symbol of respect, peace, friendship and love...those and "olivine" jewelry were very popular. a pale green glass made from lava there. soooo much of it. ugh. kept getting the most garish jewelry gifts from them (thank goodness it was the thought that counted more) olivine is sometimes used as the birthstone "peridot". i think Madame Rac had quite a bit of olivine jewelry and several gold dipped maile leaves.

I think the small gold leaf is a gold-dipped Maile leaf from Hawai'i. Maile is an endemic climbing vine with fragrant leaves that is used for high status lei. In the 80s and 90s they were dipped in gold to create necklaces and earings. Not of huge value, but nostalgic. The pair of drop earings you thought might be bone carved into rose blossoms might also be from Hawai'i as they resemble a style of jewelry made in the Islands carved or molded to resemble a jasmine blossom that was called Pikake, in honor of Crown Princess Ka'iulani. The Princess, who loved a particular variety of jasmine, kept pet peacocks at Ainahau, her Waikiki estate, so, in Hawai'i the flower was named Pikake in memory of the Princess of the Peacocks. Not terribly confident in my IDs as it was a quick look.

U are 100% correct, bcuz I own one. I just couldn't remember where I got it until I read your comment! 😂 My father took my sister and I on a 7 country/2 week adventure thru Asia. Our last stop was a 2 day stopover in Hawaii, at which point we were told we would be flying home alone while they stayed in Hawaii! (we were 18 and 20 and already living on our own). My Dad had decided to fly his 2 sisters out to meet him and his new wife in Hawaii, where they would get to spend an additional week, and then all come home together. My aunts had never really been too far from the small MO town we all came from. Both were very hard working single moms by then, and neither had money for such exotic travel. When he came home he bought each of them a new car as well. I found out later that my Dad had been diagnosed w/Prostate Cancer and thought he was dying. Thank God he survived and lasted another 35 years! 💝 Thanks for reminding me where my gold leaf came from, as well as remembering that beautiful time w/my Daddy and Aunts who have all now passed on to bigger things. 🙏🏽 ✌🏼

Alex, the necklace in the beginning, that you thought was abalone, is actually mother of pearl. Mother of pearl is white, while abalone has blues, teals, aqua, and purples. The fountain pen nibs may be gold, as many of the pens were back then. I have two vintage Sheaffer fountain pens with gold nibs. The earrings from Venezia may be Austrian crystal and the faceted metal pieces at the top of the earrings are marcasites which are fashioned from pyrite. These could be very high end earrings especially if the crystals in them are vintage Swarovski. The AB crystal necklaces, bracelets, and earrings go for a pretty penny. The pin with the petit point that you referred to as a hat pin is a stick pin usually worn on the lapel of a coat or woman's suit jacket. The pin originally came with small stopper on the end to prevent it from falling out of the fabric. The Sherman set is stunning. Weiss and Lisner are also high end brands when it comes to older, mid-century pieces. 💖🌹💍💎

You just need to invest in another camera so you can have camera in hand but also another camera on a tripod from another angle and also for when you need two hands to open or handle something. It was good to have Melissa there this time, so you could film her handling and checking items and also discuss them. Oooh, I love the heart locket! And the butterfly. Neither look particularly valuable but they're pretty. This gave me all the nostalgia feels, as it looks like my mom's jewelry boxes.

The hand is called a Hamsa its to bless you and keep evil eye away. Also the 18k yellow stone with the diamonds on each side looks like a Golden Beryl or Citrine either way get checked out cause if its golden Beryl it's worth a Ka- Ching. I collect gems, designer costume jewelry so all should be check out . Even the designer boxes are sort out for trust me. What you think is plastic if it has a name imprinted should always be checked out. The brooches and the old clip on earrings are making a huge interest to people collecting vintage. Looked like fun I enjoyed watching. 👍😊💍💍 PS Glass Pearl's only Jackie Kennedy would wear and some are worth a pretty penny . The glass Pearl's are always looked for trust me. Also the biggest thing now is old vintage perfume bottles and cookie jars .

Can’t tell for sure watching but; I used to bring in semi precious & Swarovski crystals for jewellery findings in my previous job. -Red bead stand could be coral/glass. -The next were Agate beads/ semi precious -Fresh water pearls -green circle on the 10k chain I would bet to be green aventurine ……..or a green jasper. I doubt jasper.

My mom bought me a Sarah Coventry sweet bracelet in a party; 51 years later it still looks gold. Even every part of the clasp has kept its color.

Year 2000 - The reason that there were very few problems with computers as the century changed is because a lot of people worked very hard to make sure that all would be OK. The Y2K bug was real, and had to be fixed.

Sarah Coventry didn't make their own jewelry, they jobbed it out. So, some of it is extremely well made. The 10k gold necklace with the disc is likely serpentine or nephrite, not jade. Very popular in late 1960s-1970s,

My Mom had a Sara Coventry jewelry party at our house in late 50's, early 60's. I still have what she bought.

That's a tie clip Alex not a money clip. Sara Coventry jewelry was like Tupperware only for jewelry. They'd do Sara Coventry home shows when I was a kid in the 60's

I had the pinky ring with the blue and red stones lost it in the hay loft. Many years later when they tore down the barn they found it and my floppy hat ( chewed by mice) the ring was in perfect condition.

Hey there! I stopped on this, because I make beadwork jewelry, and a lot of my stones are semi precious. So I got curious. That' gold ring with the gold-colored stone, might be amber, but it might also be topaz. The little silvery black stones might be marcasite. That gold pin is a stick pin. Popular during the 70's, or it may be a hat pin from the 50's. There should have been a cap on the bottom that pulls off, to keep it from slipping off. Ooooh! The necklace and clip on earrings afterwards... I recognize that... it's antique Austrian Crystal!!! That big round, flat stone looks like jade to me. I wish I had seen this earlier... I would have loved to buy the Austrian Crystal!

I imagine the 18K ring with diamonds on the sides has quite an expensive stone in. You wouldn’t normally use 18K for a citrine or topaz. Could even be a peach sapphire.

Looks like topaz. A honey topaz was considered a precious stone and was set in gold, often 18k, and accented with diamonds.

It could also be a Mexican Fire Opal, which can come in many shades from yellow to orange to red. It has that opaque look to it. Also if it is set in 18k gold and diamonds the center stone would be higher quality.

The ring was marked 750, so it could have been made in Europe. 18K gold is used more often in Europe , 14K (585) is more popular in the USA.

Hi from England. The Sarah Coventry was sold at PARTY PLAN sales the same as tupperware was sold, in homes. This was durint the 1970s in England. It was i believe all costume jewellery. Also in the mid 1970's was a firm called Toye Kenning and Spencer whom I worked for selling gold and silver jewellery the same way. They started in 1685 and continued to trade to the present day. in 1793 when Charles, a great grandson of Guillaume Toye, set up a factory in Camden Town to produce gold and silver threads, cords, laces, braids and naval and military accoutrements. In 1861 they supplied uniform and accoutrements to both sides of the American Civil War. The coronation of the young Queen Elizabeth Toye’s supplied embroidered banners to robes, and regalia, both directly as Toye, Kenning & Spencer. Marie

Just a guess, but could those earrings from Venice be Venetian glass? That’s the kind of thing I would buy if I was traveling there. Some of those pieces looked like ivory.
