How to swap your stock Jeep 4.0 alternator (90 amp) for a much more powerful one out of a 90's Dodge truck that will push 130 or 160 amps. This swap took us 1.5 hours and cost under $40! The purpose of this swap was to upgrade the electrical system for use with a winch controlled plow system. This swap also makes sense for anyone running auxiliary lights, an upgraded sound system, or other accessories that draw a lot of power. This vehicle is a 1993 ZJ Grand Cherokee, but this will work on a TJ Wrangler, WJ Grand Cherokee, and XJ Cherokee with the 4.0L engine.
Dodge Years the motor was used. I believe mine was from a 1998.
