Any time I get something via email or text, I log out of that particular format then log into the organization directly. First thing I check is any notifications or internal messages, then I contact their fraud department. Most outside texts and emails are NOT LEGIT.

Always check the sender of them crypto exchange emails. Almost 100% of them will be thieves. As a matter of fact never click on those emails. Always log into your exchange instead. If you don't have any messages about whatever then just ignore them. Especially the ones that say your account is being closed soon, UNLESS.

Some of those spear phishing crooks are professionals. I had to deal with one group that actually spoofed the 1-800 number of a bank.

Got me for 10k a couple of years ago posing as trust wallet admins I was pretty new to crypto then, unfortunately nothing could be recovered, live & learn 🤬

They come on you that you are suspected of money laundering then say, you seem to be a good guy, I will help you out. Give me your details. It happened to me so I asked him to chat me up through the support channel and he said I can't, so I hang up. I recommend using an authenticator and make your account as secure as possible.
