I've broken 2 of those lightweight canopies within 1 week of using them. To anyone who wants to bend it a little more to have a lower camera angle, I suggest applying some heat to the parts you want to fold cause an abrupt fold creates a crank that will break really easily

ive broken frame and canopy within a week. I would suggest to anyone to just send the regular frame harder instead of using the lightweight parts you will be becoming a better pilot this way. If you want the lighest BNF the mobula 6 is 20g instead 23g of the meteor 65

Happymodel is aware on that issue for more than 2 years but only thing they does is adding a message on the product page on how cautionous you need to be soldering motor 🤦‍♂️

Lmfao kinda dumb. BetaFPV needs to do something about how hard it is to solder a damn VTX onto their FC. It’s a pain in the ass especially knowing you might heat damage some components either on the FC or the VTX

Regarding the low flight time, try lowering your master multiplier slider some. Why? Watching Ciotti's streams, he noted how the new Air frame is slightly more flexible than the standard Meteor 65 frame, which means more vibrations/wobbles transmitting to the FC from the motor locations.

I might do that if I put betaflight back on. Quicksilver doesn't use a mastermultiplier. :)

Nothing related to frame, but too high 27000kv flat magnet motor with triblade props will never grant you good flight time...

Sweet micro build. I like those props for weight savings. I like that canopy too, some of the printables online like it like to push that back stand off too. I have an orphan Diamond elrs board in a frame with minor damage, this is giving me some ideas. Thanks for the video, happy ripping, this one looks like a lot of fun.

WoW, I guess I'm staying away from the Dimond board, thanks for the warning, the BetaFPV 1w transmitter, I wouldn't mind trying it out, I have two long range quads and a wing that it might help me with. Hey Nick, if I recall correctly those reny screws use what is called a Chemis style of driver head. It looks almost identical to a Philips driver, but the tip is flat. Basically the cross is meant to fit flat into the head of the screw, giving more torque on such a small fastener. Kind of like the idea of a flat head bit, but in a cross form factor. Called Chemis, and sold by both solidspot and digikey. Easy enough to make your own though😎

Yes, the HDZero dvr is superior to all other analog DVR. Very consistent fps recorded and higher resolution. The v2 skyzone 04x dvr comes in a close second.

Was that an Odonata? How do you like it? I just built one, and fully loaded it weighs 42 grams. Hefty. But I love the way it flies!

That is an Odonata. It flies well. Typically when I fly "for fun" I grab a 2s 2inch. Those really speak to me.

If you had to pick one ducted whoop (1S or 2S) for your outdoor space what would would you go with? Our outdoor space is quite similar but I only have one 65mm whoop which doesn't like wind too much. It much prefers indoors lol.

for bnf I would like go with mobula8 which is 2s, but that is when I think outdoor only flight. For indoor and/or outdoor I would likey go mobula7. 75mm is more indoor friendly but also a reasonable performer outside.

Love these frames, Try it with the weebleeds 0702s, may increase flight time, I prefer the tinywhoop 27kkv (tinywhoop same as weebleeds, happymodel). I haven't tried the betafpv 0702s but if there anything like the newbeedrone 0702 27kkv the flight time is decreased and feel less agile or laggy compared to the tinywhoop or weebleed 0702s. Also I prefer the original gemfan 1219 triblade, a little heavier but seem quicker with more thrust in my opinion.

Like I've been saying for months dude, flat magnet motor are bad ! As you say, less agile, laggy and also bad flight time, I can't get why anybody get the same conclusion yet...

@@DonJohnsonFPVI notice beta702 didn’t have that metal ring inside the bell where the magnet are usually mounted at,instead,they just mounted it on the ring.this help it save 0.1g which make it only 1.3g with wire .what you think about it?

Hey Nick. Could i use a Diatone Cube Gtb229 frame i have unused in a box to make a close pseudo 'Tks Rocket race'? I live in South Africa so getting that specific frame is not possible.

Yes, it would be fairly slow. I believe the GT229 used bi blades. The triblades should work fine though.

I haven't had any issues with diamonds except for 1 board that ended up being an elrs issue. I think it's because I conformal coat them and turn off the beacon tone.

at some point in time I remember reading on the happymodel site that they didn't recommend HV batteries for the Diamond AIO board, or they only recommended LIPO's and I was debating this with a friend because I had flown HV's the entire time I owned the mobeetle and never blew anything, but he said he blew his diamond FC first try with some HV batteries. I dunno maybe its because i fly like a grandma?

I have had them die on usb power as well. If they can’t run hv batts they should pull them off the market.

I have 3 of the Diamond f4’s. One blew a esc on me during testing trying to build a sub 14g build. I noticed that the pids on the board are awful! Best to flash BF4.4 and use stock pids with small adjustments. My 2 cents at least. I really like these boards but need a better manufacturer to pick up the design or build some better 5in1 AIO FCs.

Currently using 1s 65mm se0802 19000kv, props 31mm, hover at about 50%. I think it isnt too heavy…or is this level normal? Should i use bigger frame and props like meteor65 pro with 35mm props?

going with smaller motors or otherwise reduce the weight will help. Or other option is to transfer to a larger frame and running bigger props.

@@anonymous_real On 31mm props I would suggest 0702 25000kv, lower if you want flight time, higher if you want more speed. Any weight we can remove will have a great benefit.

@@NickBurnsFPV I just got them this week, ordered direct from betafpv, they split it the same old spot as the old frames, I ordered 4 of them, but it's just the waiting for postage and the cost here in Aussie dollars makes them almost not viable. My build weighs 19 grams so I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I've got 2 peek screws in each motor and running the air camera mount. 0702 28000kv motors, the aio might be part of the issue it's a happymodel full size 5 in 1, not the diamond. I've glue the frame with e6000 I'll see how it holds up. Thanks for making such great videos, I really appreciate your efforts Nick.

If you use facebook Jessie Perkins...owner of Tinywhoop.com posted a question in the tinywhoop FB group asking about the durability of the frame. Maybe your already well aware, just thought I might call it out in case.

@@NickBurnsFPV thanks Nick no I wasn't, I'll have to get on to that. One other thing that might be contributing is that the Happymodel 0702 motors are shorter than the BetaFPV or NewBeeDrone flow 0702 motors, this means that the props sit under the duct lip on all the frames I've tried so far. I don't know if this means anything, but it's just data, the props end up catching the supports though sometimes in a crash.

I believe reny screws are the lightest we have. I have seen them on tinywhoop.com and webleedfpv.com other sites might have them but those are the two that come to mind in the moment.

normal human being: my quad is lighter, and flies way longer nick burns: my quad is even lighter, so i have to push it even more, so i dont gain any flighttime :D my chonky 65mm whoop is 32g auwg on 16500kv motors.. :D bought a new mob6 so i can push it even more AND longer :D

I use welder. E6000 seems to have several different versions. The E6000 I have used doesn't work as well as welder, but others prefer E6000 to welder.
