Construction 101: - never pull back on a skillsaw - never cross cut with your arms/hands/fingers in the way, hand saw or powered saw(lucky you only had a cut) Just an advice. Steel shows no mercy on human flesh, I've seen it.
Nice idea! Made mine even cheaper than that. Don't have a Lowes nearby, but have a Home Depot right up the street. I used styrene baseboards (for the inside of a house..lol). And only have to make one cut on each side for the length. Around 6 bux a side. Including paint and primer, I got around 20 bux in both sides! :)
Good job ....I did this exact Same thing on my tiburon back in 2007 and even made a front splitter Just need a big enough pvc board which are not cheap (got them free from work) but still cheaper Then the alternative. ...can even wrap them in carbon wrap
Damn bro that looks awesome good job I'm thinking about doing this on my e46 I need something to hide my underglow I wonder if it would be thick enough to hide it
Good job! the skirts look dope! Btw, where'd you get the m3 bumper and how did cost you to get it painted? I'm bout to get one. I bought all my skirts and splitters online wish I would've seen this earlier I could've built my own PC skirts too. Lol
It depends where u live in europe we need to buy if from someone who made it and have certificat (tuv) so we can Atest it and be legal... Yeah so stupid, but whatever...
When you were using the hand saw I was waiting for you to cut yourself.....then sure enough you did lol, skirt extensions look great but Some ppl should not use power or hand tools lol
Awesome video with the side skirts. Wonder if that would work for a front lip and rear diffuser. Oh and use a guard and some gloves when you're using the grinder. Your hands will thank you.
Would work on the front lip/splitter, but finding this in a size large enough would be the problem. Most people just get large sheets of ABS plastic from the hardware store to do that with. Might be difficult to use on the diffuser, because of the bends sometimes involved in making those. But it might work, I've never made one of those before. ;)
Damn I remember getting an e90 as the same time as you started uploading videos remember how you had about 200 subs I believe remember having the same water pump problems anyway I’m happy that your e 90 came a long way something I wanted my e90 to be but unfortunately I totaled it
Does the paint stick well? I’d think with a surface that smooth it might peel easily.. but great video! Definitely gonna take this route to do mine, thank you! 👌
Advice please, do you think a staggered set of rims: 18x8" ET35/18x9" ET35 wheel sizes would be ok to put onto 225/40/R18 and 245/40/R18 (on a 2009 323i) or those tires aren’t good for the staggered set up? I subscribed too!
It really depends on what you’re going for. I’m sure they’ll fit but that’ll be a meaty tire setup. What I do is convert the width of the wheel to millimeters; for example, my fronts are 10” wide. 10” = 254mm so a perfect low-pro tire size choice would be 255/35/18 but I wanted a stretch for more clearance and lip to fender fitment so I went with 215/40/18
Unless you break them like the owner here says he did, the weather doesn't affect them. They are 'pvc' (the receipt called them that), meaning they are actually plastic. Won't warp or get weak like using wood. ;)
Very useful DIY...got me thinking. I have to ask...can you drive, it it fast, or is it a show car? Great idea, nonetheless. Dangerous craftsmanship skills, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get cuts and scrapes; with protection and knowing what I’m doing. I think it’s a right of passage to get a DIY handed to you...def be safer than you are on this vid. Good luck on future projects.
Its about 5/16" thick, 5.75" wide and 8ft. long. Also since its pvc, you can heat form it with a heat gun to soften it, bend to shape, let cool and retains that shape. This has many possibilities for other mods, and def. cheap cost. PVC pipe glues work on this as well.😉..✌✌
Very good idea pal they look good although you should never use tools again. Sawing towards your hand and then your grinding disk was off centered or broken how you have all your fingers is beond me :) nice DIY though
she looks amazing bro she would of looked even nicer if you had wrapped in carbon fiber but thay still look stunning bro thats my next mod on my f10 hv them on the way stunning content bro looking foerword for mor content👌👌👌👌
