Well, it was time to upgrade my airbnb and I decided at staying at one of the finest hotels in Chennai, Leela Palace.
Now I am getting towards the end of my journeys for this India trip so I decided to go ahead and go big!!! I got a $400 dollar room, but luckily I booked it with my AMEX card and I was able to upgrade two more levels to this beautiful sea view room.
This room was equipped with so many cool and fun features, but I think the bathroom had to be the best features of the room. Well besides what also seemed like an endless array of cookies being brought to my room.
After checking into the room, I actually upgraded to the "Royal Program" if I remember the name correctly and it was about Rs7000 extra each day, but this gave me access to many more things like tea time, cocktail hour, and a ride in a BMW to the airport.
So this was one of the best tea times I have been to. With a bakery on location, the difference and excellent breads had me wanting to come back for this tea time, time and time again.
Of course I came back for some drinks and to continue hanging out with the staff. This was some of the youngest and coolest staff I have had in a hotel yet and I enjoyed learning about each and every one of them and their home towns, languages and cultures.
With a lot of fine dining on site, I was recommended to go to Jamavar so I gave it a shot. This multiple course menu was fun but the highlights had to be the daal makhni!!!
