Jessica Hill I agree 100% it sucks having to live at home with parents when ur a full time worker or having to have multiple roommates to afford a place, we definitely need places like this here in Canada too!

In the state I live apartments smaller than 2 bedrooms are actually more expensive! I still live with my mother because the lowest rent would be 3/4 a month's wages. If they had nice little spaces like this here I could comfortably afford to live alone, and the family would have more space here.

Bidets are a regular thing both in the Mediterranian and the Middle East, including the ones built in the toilet itself. But the Japanese ones are still next level with more settings :D

I've dreamed of having a loft like that for as long as I can remember (thanks, anime) and I can't imagine not wanting to be all cozy up there...but she does have a point with going up and down the ladder, especially in the morning or god forbid if you're busting for a poop.

I wonder if the ladder detatches and if a small set of stairs could be installed or put on rollers or something. I love the loft and have always wanted one. When my dad was looking for places to live when I was young there was a bedroom that had space behind the door and it had a steep set of stairs that went up to a loft. It was too large for what my dad wanted so he didn't get it but promised to build a loft in my room of the home he picked. It didn't happen bc the ceiling was too low but I had a long hallway like walk in closet that I used as a reading nook but it wasn't cozy bc my step sisters kept putting their junk in there. ☹️

There are, but the condition of them are craptastic. But part of that is American's faults. Sadly, "low income" is paired with the word "irresponsible", and lots of people in low income homes don't take care of what they're given. And the managers don't care to enforce proper treatment of the apartment so it falls to waste.

@@Linda7647 Yep. This is why as I landed a new job that pays the best I've ever recieved, I'm treating myself to one of the loft apartments in the city (I currently live in the hood). It's not uber fancy with a lot of amenities, but it has a few things I really want right now: it was once an office building renovated into apartments only in 2015, so the appliances haven't been put through the wringer, all of the apartments are one bedroom so the cost and space make it unlikely families would live there (I don't wish to have children and honestly dislike the sound of them), the building is secure, and the location is downtown, where there's just office buildings, mostly. This way, nobody is just sitting on the street banging their music for the entire neighborhood to hear every lyric. Yes, I deal with that constantly, sometimes so loud, it rattles my windows. Who the hell needs their music that loud? That's how you go deaf by 40! Also, the leasing office and company headquarters are located on the top two floors so I can quickly reach them if I have an issue (and the reviews state that what few maintenance issues people have had are resolved quickly. Sadly, that's also what more money will get you, faster service for your apartment). Oh, and best of all...all utilities are included in the cost of rent, except for internet (no prob, I would rather supply my own internet to keep my current company). This is really great as I've seen how costs of bills can quickly shoot through the roof during the winter, unless you're on a billing plan of some kind. I'll never forget the month I was charged $400 in a single month for my gas, all because it snowed here in Alabama 😑. Took me three months to pay that off.

Nope I loved the idea too. My only concern would be drying my fiance's uniforms. I suppose I could air dry most of the day then use the dry feature in the evening before bed if they are still damp

@@rosebunnylove yeah, I use uniform to work too! I had to buy a dryer machine yesterday because here in Portugal is very humid, so the clothes never dry and start smelling like mildew, 😔

Yes...but i wonder, compared to a dryer going for 45 mins vs blowing warm air for 3 to 5 hrs how efficient is it really? Still it would be a nice option and would definitely help with keeping the bathroom warm, dry and mold free.

I live in a tiny ass apartment. It's not that great. I think if you all actually had to live in a tiny apartment, you would feel much differently about it. It's not for everyone and it can make things like socializing, studying, exercising etc much more difficult.

HELL0NESSA true! One has to be really calm and collected to maintain oneself in such a tiny living space. I work on a cruise ship and our cabins are really really tiny, with two living in one cabin(bunk beds). Before that I really wanted to live minimalistically in a well maintained tiny living space. Once I was onboard, though, I saw the real deal. It took me a long time and a lot of patience to get my self collected and set my priorities straight on what I want or don’t want in order to live clean and peacefully in such a small space. ❣️

@@HELL0NESSA I think that is cz you were ustued to a bigger space (like the home of your parents). Cz i live in a tinny deparment whit out problem, and im good at socialization, i mean, i have a pretty nice space, and actually i have like a mini gym, with some machines that i can take out of my closet whenever i need. Its just a matter of good optimization of the space. ;)

I guess they don't care because they are very clean people and always recicle

@@rheay you can also do a small dish drying rack instead of a cloth that fits inside of your sink and put a sink cutting board over the sink and another cutting board on top of your burners when you aren't using them, so the whole area can be counter space when you aren't using other things.

I have limited counter space and do the same. I bought a bigger cutting board to fit across the sink and its a game changer lol

Christine, minimalism does not mean to have little or live in small places, but to have what is minimum and necessary for you. A place like this for me, for example, would not work because I am bigger than the corridor itself. xD Of course, if an apartment like this is enough for you, then that is your minimalist place. I am just saying to not get stuck on the idea of "the less and smaller, the more minimalist." ;)

Probably due to how the water pipes are built in the whole building. The fridge does not need those, while the kitchens (and possibly the toilet/shower) pipes go inside the same wall
