I wanted to thank you. When the pandemic hit I began working from home. It was a tedious job that I very much disliked. Because of that I needed something to do to make the day go faster between calls. So I began researching hobbies and RC cars came to mind. This was one of the the first videos that left an impression and because of it I decided to go with WPL. I’ve been hooked ever since. Fast forward to now. The job market flopped and I was part of a series of layoffs. I’ve been without a job since March. After a while I really started getting low not being able to find employment. (It gets better) Your videos have really helped and inspired me. I don’t have any expectations of becoming hugely popular on RU-vid, but has given me a daily goal. It’s become a job of sorts. It’s helped tremendously. From time to time this video pops back up on my feed. I watch it in it’s entirety every time it does. I hope you read this. Thank you Papa Shorty
Sorry about loosing your job, times are really hard at the moment, and I hope you sort something out. But it's so nice to hear that the RC Hobby hasn't given you something to focus on. I hear it so much that this hobby helps people in all different ways. Thanks for your support, and i wish you all the best
This is the first time someone´s directly compared the two with an intelligent commentary on YT! I think you summed up the pros and cons of each choice very well, and, crucially, you made the point that it wouldn´t be possible to upgrade the K to KM spec if your budget was the price difference between the two. Ten out of ten for the foot saves - and thank you for taking the time to fit the weighted front wheels to the K model and to tackle the blue slide again. The K giving the stricken KM a tow was a brilliant touch!
Thanks Del, the foot catch has taken years to perfect....and now anything dropped gets a good go at being saved, although a few glasses have been broken in the process when they get kicked across the floor lol. I made this video for anyone thinking of getting a C34, and to show that they are both decent, and it boils down to your budget. WPL are still heading in the right direction, looking forward to the next new truck!
I'm always so glad to watch your videos. Your opinions are spot on as is the content of your reviews as they are to the point, realistic, and informative. You don't make a ten minute video into a 30 minute rambling session and you make it about the product, not about you! Others could learn from you, as you exceed and set the standard! Keep up the great work, my friend! Beat wishes from the oven known as Phoenix, Arizona. You are "Oven Baked" Potato Approved!
Thanks for the feedback Pot...power 😎👍 Nothing worse than a video being dragged out just to coin in on the extra ad revenue, or just waffling on about unrelated stuff! 🤑🤑🤑😜
Wow! I am so impressed with the basic model, and those wheel weights made all the difference! Thanks for showing how they compare, it seems to me that you can't really go wrong with a WPL C34, no matter which one you go for. 👍 👍 👍 GB
I hoping to get a RTR version soon. I want to get into hobby type things like rc and model building so I think this RTR would be a good start into a hobby grade rc modification, painting, and making accessories. There just out of the blue so I'm gonna get the yellow and re paint the body as my first paint job.
One tip: get the rigid body ones if you're going to paint. Standard paints stick to them much better than the flexible lexan or polycarbonate ones. I've done some pretty fancy paint jobs on the clear poly bodies and it's a major paint painting and masking on the inside.
7:57 that was cool bouncing on the front axle. I'm glad you compared the two versions. I'm looking at getting one and want to redo the body into a short Series 1 Land Rover. I won't be doing to much extreme off roading but want it durable and reliable so I'll likely get the metal kit. Just debating about the res 3v remote since I do want a winch and sound. I just don't want a V8 sound as I think it is.
lol and here I just went backwards with the "monstered" budget C-14. the JJRC axles are bigger with bigger plastic bevel gears, then the Fayee rims/tires to be 3/4" wider. local buddy saw it couple weeks ago, so we ordered up for him. C-14 still seems their best platform for crawling+climbing, they should re-visit and make the hood open for a forward battery space. they do make the C-14/24 metal suspension hangers, kinda surprised the metal kit didn't come with a pair of them in it.
Yes I agree, the C14 needs a revisit, combining some of the C34 upgrades. The 370/reduction + new gearbox is a must I think. Perfect scale speed for crawling. You can actually buy them separately now from Banggood, with the longer driveshafts.
I get this video is 3 years old, But i love that i now have all the same playground bits including what appears to be a crib base for the ramp off the house. time to make a new course!
Fantastic comparison mate 👍 shame about it breaking the blue one, you done a good job with the orange body, good saves with your foot 😁🤪 that was a tough course mate , loved the 15 point turn lol 😂 I might get wheel weights for my Ravine mate, makes a big difference, fantastic video once again 👍😁👍
Hello - ive been thinking about one for my first ever Offroader. In past i used to make Tamiya Buggy kit so i know basics. What you recomend? Does stock rtr can give fun? Its 50% of price and i dont even know if i will be that big of maniac - probably it will end that i will go to forest to play occasionaly. I also am big fan of fj40 + it screams „paint me and add some rest Effect”
Looking alot better than most ""Name" Brands here in the U.S. if I where to pick a little crawler it most likely would be one of these... NC MOUNTAINS. 👌👍
the orange one done a great job on the trail.you should get a 1 ton back of mixed rocks and make a trail in your garden, how cool.thanks for the video again.
Saw a RTR WPL c34 listed brand new but it said no ESC included - can they still work without one and is it standard not to come with an ESC in the RTR boxed versions or would I need to buy one? It was a brushed version....
Good afternoon, sorry for English, I'm from Brazil and I'm using a translator. Could you please me answer a question? Which of the two models has the proportional steering servo?
@@TomleyRC I am new to RC cars I am planning to buy the C34 KM for my son but after seeing your video and what happened to the shock. Can the shock be fixed? Did you fix yours if yes then how? Kindly make a video of the them thanks.
That was because it dropped from quite a hight, they are actually ok. And the bit that broke was the shock/suspension bracket. I think they come with spare ones anyway.
hello, is their a significant power difference between the 370 and the 180 motor? which is more powerful? despite 370 being bigger but is powering a heavier frame...
370 has a lot more power, but the gearing on the 180 motor/gearbox is plenty for these, although not sure how it would cope with the extra weight of the Metal one
Great video mate ! since you own both a WPL C34 and MN D90, could you tell me if the D90 body would fit on a C34 full frame ? I'd rather go with Defender looks but keep the C34 handling goodness. Cheers ! :)
My original idea was to buy 2 c24 kits, the second just in case anything is missing or broken would it be good to buy 1 c34 and 1 c24 i will use gears and links of c34 on c24 , i like the way c24 looks
For the metal one, none really...unless you add some MN90 soft tyres/wheels. As for the stock kit, I'd make sure you have a bit of extra weight up front, and then just metal drive shafts. 👍
@@TomleyRC Thank you, certainly fully sold me on the metal one. Recently purchased as Gelände 2 1:10 scale for myself and would like another for anyone who joins me. Would they look odd together scale wise?
@@TomleyRC thank you, I don't have a particular preference, both beautitul. If I take the c34 rtr I was hoping at least it had metal differential. Initially I wouldn't some upgrade parts
About the complain! I just found this time how you presented these 2 cars not in good way, mostly how poorly tested. I mean having a semi-realistic test ground might help keeping the viewers, as well as following the basic rules of physics , and not breaking the cars prematurely. I am new to this world and would like to follow good presenters!
