I think the whole point of the rev air is that it is stretching the hair without constant manipulation like you have to do with the other one and reduces the time for blow drying, potential heat damage and breakage. It definitely took me a few tries to find what works for me but I love using my rev over the other blow dryers b/c my hair doesn’t feel dried out and I barely have any shedding. To each their own though.
I was looking for this comment. Rev is about low manipulation, drying, with a bit of stretch. Rev versus any blow dryer, hair comb is apples versus oranges. Both wholly delish, but diff fruits.
4b/c thick bra-strap length hair here - Finally tried my Revair yesterday (the new smaller one) since i bought it in December. I usually have a major headache after wash day because of all the manipulation but Revair helped me blow dry my hair without any pulling or breakage. It didn't come out very straight but was SUPER stretched and de-tangled, so only needed to spend 5 minutes with my hair straightener brush (the one that looks like a small modern Anti-Scald hot comb) to get the straighter look I wanted for a bantu knot out, otherwise I looked damn good with just the blowout (was staring at myself for a good minute). I went for the highest heat and tension because I don't have time to play with this thing.🤣🤣 I sat on my bed and rested my elbow on my knees, so didn't have to really hold it by itself until i got to the top. I'm glad I bought it due to the less time used and and less breakage/tension. IT IS LOUD BUT MY TV IS LOUDER.
This is so wholesome to watch, Your family is always my fav when they appear! I honestly didn't get the first version because my mind was itching that feeling of being too much for results! I did however, got the new one that you have and the results for me is amazing! I do have the Revlon but I'm awful at using any type of "brush/comb" dryers. I simply gave up on them and gave it to my mother(who uses it successfully). My results were diametrically opposed to yours! I've never seen my hair stretch this much with RevAir (and it doesn't feel like it's burning). It probably depends on who it's for. If you have good technique with brush or comb dryers, you should save your money. Excellent video demonstrating how some people can save money using tools they already own. +

I have a revair. And the point to me is that u have WAY LESS DAMAGE from heat and friction. Yes u can use a $40 hot brush and get same results, but more damage. I think your hair will thank you in the long run if u use the revair.
Yes! Exactly why I love it. I feel like I get the stretch I need and no damage. I also only use the cool setting then the low heat for 30 seconds and it gives what I need it to. I think some ppl just want it to be completely straight. But of course that happens sometimes it just depends on the texture also
Exactly. It's not intended to behave like a flatiron, but instead to stretch you hair without damage. My hair has a looser curl so it gets my hair pretty straight which is more than enough for me
I think that's true. While I haven't tried the revair yet, I have used the revlon brush and various other blow dryers with and without attachments, and I always get quite a bit of breakage and mechanical damage.
I use my Revair for my 4 yr old who is tender headed but has the density of like 300% and hair to her butt. Make sure the hair is damp before you dry it. Not dripping wet, but damp. It won't take out all the texture, but it makes it more manageable with little damage.

Its unbelievable how beautiful you all are. Using the revair is a learning curve for sure! It’ll be worth it keep trying! It takes the right combo of dampness, protectant and heat/time used. To the blowdrying, I think all the heat protection rituals we do is still essential, it’s just a nicer blow dryer. You didn’t ask me what I think in this video tho. So the comment is really for engagement
This probably isn't any more or less real than the other Revair videos posted. You just wanted a reason to justify not getting it or not wanting it which is your right. It clearly serves a purpose though and many find it to be worth the investment.

Another great video. Your family is beautiful. I have the same struggle with the Revair. I’ve had mine for 3 years and I’ve only used it 6 times. It’s heavy and clunky and it has never given me the results I’ve wanted. 😢 If I need a quick blow dry I revert to my revelon blow dryer
I prefer my rev air dryer because it is less damaging to my hair. When I use other blow dryers I have a tremendous amount of breakage, it takes forever, and I burn my head hands from the heat; which I must use to straighten out my coily hair. Then if I want a straight look I still have to straighten or flat iron my hair. I also find myself struggling to maneuver my 1800 watt blow dryer. I think the rev air is easier to use because I dont have comb or brush my hair while it dries. To be able to quickly dry my hair without a dust pan full of breakage or burning myself up, I'll stick to the rev air. I was expensive but I'm worth it.
my only two critiques with this video is he should’ve wore a different colored shirt so we could actually see the difference between the two and that a lot of people’s heads sweat when repetitively met with heat so that dryer was designed to fail from the start especially being so heavy
I kind of regret buying the Revair because I thought it would be better than using my Revlon. It's too clunky and loud and seems to give the same results ☹
Okay, thanks! I love my Revlon!!! I wondered if anyone REALLY felt it was a crazy big improvement.....aside from taking away the brushing motions and not having to hold your hair with one hand while you blow dry.
@@justKKB That’s precisely it - I bought it because I refuse to drag a comb through my hair while drying. It basically lessens the damage done from blow drying and uses less heat Edit: I actually have that blow dry brush and I gave it to my sister lol. It’s really just up to preference
Revair recommends your hair be lightly damp, but imo tighter curl pattens like 4C should be a little more wet + very small sections in order to get straighter results. I used mine on my sisters 4C hair when I first bought it
@@CrystalRose1111 Gotcha. I use the tension method to stretch my hair for the Revlon brush to.minimize the risk of mechanical breakage or weakening. For me, a $450 blow dryer just isn't worth it. Rather buy a plane ticket and hop on a flight!! 😁 ✈
I own both, but prefer to use the RevAir about once a month, simply because it doesn’t get as hot as the Revlon brush. Revlon definitely gives a straighter look and is great to use if you are planning to flat iron, which I only do once a year. So I use my RevAir mainly for stretch as it’s easier to style stretched hair. Also, like the fact that it doesn’t feel like I’m overly manipulating my hair in the process.
Wuts funny is I just bought that hairdryer brush for 30 bucks and I'm excited to use it cuz I HATE when I wanna brush my hair out while blow drying and it doesn't turn out the way I want
It’s not supposed to give silk press results, it’s literally a blow dryer..even good blow dryers don’t give you silk press, they give you a good foundation for it, which is what this is supposed to do without the damage and extra manipulation.
I still prefer the rev air although it doesn't fully straighten the hair. It's less manipulation and less heat for the same results I get from a harsher blow dryer
Great video but no way would I spend that much money on a blow dryer. I get better results with the regular blow-dryer with comb attachment, or the blow dryer brush
This dryer will never be worth it. One, it is heavy as crap. Regular dryers are more affordable, light weight, don't take up much space in your luggage so you can take it anywhere, and you can get better results. This thing is complex, too expensive, and give okay results.
I know it's just a weird thing in my family, but watching two people do one head of hair freaks me out. I don't know why this is a no-no in my family, but the feeling persists all the same. Does anybody else here say "more hair" after getting their hair done, or burn the hair left in the brush? The hair burning is to prevent people from casting spells with it or birds from using it in nests. Apparently, hair used in bird's nests will cause headaches. It's pure superstition, in my opinion, but I wonder if other people grew up with similar ones.
Don't work yourself up over that. Revair didn't even make the product for black people to begin with. Somebody in the natural hair community discovered it and it caught on. They unexpectedly tapped into an underserved market (black hair care as a whole and accessible, low-manipulation hair tools) and, as far as I can tell, inspired a whole bunch of other copycat, healthy-hair, air-powered hair dryers. Companies market to their consumers so...I mean tell black people to stop buying their styling tools lol.
This is a cute video the only thing that concerns me is the top that you have on while doing your sister's husband's hair. You should have worn something less revealing. But that's just me
