When you can live like this in NYC, it’s quite nice. Especially in several years when flying cars really ‘take off’. Fly right off your balcony, cruise to the Hamptons for a catered barbecue, then back to the Penthouse for some hobble doo gee.
I’m sure you can still smell the city stink in that penthouse 😗. You couldn’t pay me to come back to NYC and buy this place. I’m 4,600 feet above sea level and at the base of beautiful mountains with a lake view for more than a 122 times less.
@myopiczeal Anytime I encounter something that doesn't make sense, or seems to work against "common sense", I can always trace it back to money. If something in any of our products is harmful to us, it was only because someone wanted more money. The USA is one of 2 countries in the world that is allowed to advertise drugs on TV. New Zealand is the other. It's all allowed only because of money. A lot of countries are just a giant corporation run by the rich, and it's quite a disaster for humankind and evolution.
It’s true those elevators are very fast and they run on the biggest motor. But that would be due to only maintenance because the hydraulic oil needs to be changed every two weeks instead of a month because the building is so big. It’s also quite fast so it runs on a big panel of PLCs. The elevators probably modernized anyways, so no maintenance or modernization needs to be done for the next 50 or so years coming from an elevator mechanic
I'm with ya on that. I couldn't be paid to live there that high up. I'd rather live in an isolated house with land. 54million wasted. But hey, i'm poor.
@@80PercentAshamedOfU yea but you definitely don’t want an apartment with no land or nature outside your house and definitely don’t want a house in the neighborhoods everyone loves where there’s like 10 feet between the side of your house and your neighbors. You should be able to have a huge came of catch, if not a small dirt bike ride between you and the neighbors.

As a person who used to deliver for Uber eats and DoorDash I can tell you that in big buildings like this most times they won’t even let you go all the way up. At least when I did, Uber eats and DoorDash we would have to leave the food with the receptionist downstairs, and she would call the tenant to come down and pick it up. In expensive buildings like this they usually have security who waits downstairs and they have to call the tenant to come meet you. Not all places were like this, but most were.

Definitely not peasants! NYC is trash now been that way for a few years! I live in CT and NYC is overrated and filled with migrants, crime, dirt and homelessness! It’s 1980 all over again!
And when you have to pay your mortgage. That's enough to make you jump through one of those windows. Absolutely not worth it. There are far more beautiful places to live for significantly less money.

The reason why one apartment is 54 million is because of the place (central park and midtown views) and heights (around 75th floor, not many apartments in the world that high). Also this apartment is one of few on billionaires row to have terrace and it's full floor with 360° views. It doesn't depreciate on value over time, because nobody can build anything that tall anywhere near (air rights in NYC) so wealthy people buy those apartments as an investment and don't even live there. But the HOA costs and taxes (mostly HOA tho) are in tens of thousands $ a month.
@@yooda_6650same thing goes for the man made island that looks like a palm tree in Dubai, all the houses there are over 30-40 million each and hardly anyone lives in them. Their value goes up just by existing. Somewhere around 5-10,000 houses just collecting dust.

If you had 54M to spend on an apartment in New York, you'd likely have several other places too including the one you think you'd prefer to have instead. Billionaires shouldn't exist, but they do and it's gross.
My 10 acres looks pretty good. No concrete in sight and it doesn't stink outside. Plus I don't have to deal with taxes in a blue state or their politics.
If I had that kind of money, I'd pay the city to allow me to jump off my balcony with a parachute and land in Central park to leave my Penthouse instead of using the Elevator
For that money, you can also buy 3000+ acres of land and build your dream house with a dream pool and have money plenty of left to spend on other things. And the great part is that you have clean air and no constant smog from the city below.
@@izphilly1 I live on the 20th floor of my building, and there was a fire alarm a few months ago. Walking down that many stairs takes a few minutes, but it's not difficult or tiring
