Which hotel would you book guys, the $400 luxury hotel or the $60 budget guest house? I think we can all agree that the guest house has the better view but the room itself wasn't too pleasant to stay in. The area is also very noisy 24/7 and the fact that my balcony door couldn't close properly didn't help much with that. I think it was worth putting up with, just for one night, just for the view but I had a much more pleasant and relaxing stay in the $400 room at Mena House.
A scotsman in shorts, two strong legs, a go pro... just walking around the world. Youre such a good storyteller with yr adventure, massively deserved that 1million subs. Ppl were hooked by just hearing you blabber for an hour🤣
Hey Dale, I don' t think 200 Egyptian pounds was the "local price". They probably charged you more. That's what's wrong with these people. They have Quran playing all day on their radios as if they were very devout and religious yet that doesn't reflect in their actions.
I'm Egyptian and you are right alot of scammer people in egypt they use you because you are from europe and have more money and dollars or euros so they will try to even kill you for money
If the British put in the effort and Christianized them again they’d be playing Egyptian hymns and still do the same BS. It honestly has nothing to do with the religion just a sad aspect of their societies culture.
Stfu as if there isnt a tourist price. Tramps from europe and usa coming with strong currencies bargaining with poor locals over pennies. Should b ashamed of urselves
Hey dale ,,, I ma tell u … u are my means to escape from the reality .. been going through Alot but watching ur videos makes me feel like m with u going to different places and I feel at ease .. and my concentration gets better .. i thank u very much! I pray to god that someday somehow I come across u and that would be the biggest surprise ever in my life n
After watching this video I booked this hotel just now. And the price was even cheaper than $60 - more like $46 per night for a room with a panoramic view. I'm so happy that I found this channel right before my Egypt trip! 😀
Brother Dale, another sensational vlog. You are the REAL solo traveler. I hold very high respect for solo travellers, because they are the ones who have actually understood the real meaning of life. Keep going solo bro. Egypt & the world looks better when seen through your eyes. Loads of love from India.👍🏻
Dale, I want to thank you because I cancelled my Netflix subscription and became addicted to your channel. Haha, you saved my money actually. You're a wonderful guy. I love your accent and sense of humor. You make me always laugh, you do brilliant jokes. 😂I'm getting difficult times in my life, but your videos make me forget everything and enjoy the places you travel like I'm with you. 😂 You're so a kind and good-hearted person. Okay, that's enough otherwise I'm gonna cry. 🤣
My brother , so happy to see you all healthy , this video was just amazing . Keep this up . The way you interact with people is just amazing . Loads of love 💓
as much as I would love to visit the places you've been I just couldn't handle the chaos, harassment and dishonesty and rip offs which spoils the good interactions you have had from the genuine folks you have met
Thanks for sharing Dale, the food looked great. I’ve got a feeling that wasn’t soy sauce but instead pomegranate molasses. It’s often times used with liver in many places in North Africa and the Middle East. Keep the vids coming! Visit Lebanon if you ever get the chance!
Wow, never had a camel meal before and never knew it was a thing. This is why i love travel vlogs, it help us understand different dishes around the world and their cultures. The main reason why Dale videos are really helpful is because he's the only youtuber who can perfectly capture the local delicacies and local people. ❤️✌️ The 60$ guest house is worth only for the view. The drainage problem in the sink is just not acceptable.
I have never seen anyone eat camel liver. I thought you would be afraid to eat it, I didn't expect you to eat it, wow; It is really better that the landscape of $60 than that of $400, but the facilities of $60 in the room are ordinary; If you let me watch a little more light show, maybe I will choose that $60, congratulations on reaching one million subscriptions!
Loved the restaurant at the end Dale, might be a little expensive for Egypt, not that I have any knowledge of Egypt, but seemed good value to me as the food and staff were good and super friendly. ❤️ 🇪🇬
Hi Dale, Nice hotel room for 60 dollars and the roof with the best view better than your previous hotel which cost much more but this restaurant was unique serving camel liver but I guess you liked the varieties, the staff were very friendly. Thank you for sharing your delicious moments. Be safe brother !! 🙏🙏💞💞
1 million subs now Dale I see well done. Thanks for that video the view was better than a tour for that price few bevs watch the sun come up and go down. The best youtuber
After lurking behind the scenes for a couple of months I finally subscribed to your channel! Best content on RU-vid in my opinion. Would happily buy you dinner and (non-alcoholic) drinks anytime you come to Helsinki, Finland! Keep up the good work, our man!
Your vlogs has a rawness to it...very authentic..that's why people connect with it so much. U deliver things as it!! Keep it up! Congratulations on 1M u deserve it!
Very good and informative videos. Watchers can see whole the world because of Dale. Im checking from The Netherlands and like it so much!! Big shoutout to Dale!! Keep up the good work
I stayed at Sahara hotel literary few steps away from your hotel few weeks ago and it cost me like $30/night and the views were just as beautiful. Giza is very affordable for budget traveling
wow! The cheaper place has a much better view, and while traveling, being able to see the sights means everything! Oh, and the sink drain is mechanical, if you look under the sink you will see a lever you can manipulate to open the stopper up.
The $60 is good enough, what a great view of the pyramids, of course the luxury factor takes a beating but considering the basic facilities and the savings made, its wise to stay in the guest houses near to the pyramids rather than some 5 star hotel which is needlessly heavy on your pockets.
Another amazing video. Food looks so tasty. For amazing views of the pyramids it would have to be the $60. For comfort $400. But I would go for views over comfort.
I stayed there in 2021 just after the borders were reopened. I don't know if this had anything to do with the low numbers of tourists at the time, but I remember the owner was out front chatting with someone when he saw me coming down the sidewalk with my backpack looking at the hotel signs, figured out who I was from my name and nationality on the reservation, and he called out to me by name. The two things I was looking for was a comfortable place to sleep and the view of the pyramids. Based on that, I was very happy with what I got, especially in relation to value for the money. The free breakfast while sitting face to face with the Sphynx was a bonus. It does help that I only used the internet to send a couple of emails, my balcony door was fine, and that noise doesn't bother me anyway.
Seeing as Australia has over an approximate 1.2 Million camels roaming the outback, I have never tried camel, as it is not a regulated meat industry here. That pyramid view from this place is better: …Is it me but the Sphinx appears to be buried more than I remember (Back into the eighties). Oh Pigeon is pure joy to eat. We used to eat Pigeon Pie growing up here.
7:10 Muffles Wax Earplugs from Boots. A small box of ten are about £3.50 (buy in-store, not online where they're three times the price). I'd never use hotels without them.
Expecting a video is on the way and here it is...... It's a good hotel with nice rooftop and the cozy balcony I want to sit on the round chair 😊 but yes that wash basin is a bit annoying ... washroom is a very important thing in a hotel room .... liked the video as always except the eating part 🥺 .... Congo for 1 million subscriber ❤️
I think $60 is great choice for low budget with amazing view. But on another hand as you told the room is very noisy so it would not be good. For low budget and great view = $60 For peace, high budget and luxurious facility = $400
Dale this is bringing back good memories,I think we stayed next door in the great pyramid Inn,I would def recommend the budget guest house for couple nights to see the pyramids,I also went to the same restaurant and tried the camel liver and enjoyed it👍👍hope you try the koshary and crepe which is not far from the guest house made famous by Luke Dammant 👍
Camel liver looks amazing, well done on trying someithing different. ating what the locals eat , living amongs the locals thats what we want to see. Well done.
The word in standard Arabic for delicious is "La-zez", but the one more commonly used in the Egyptian dialect is "Ta-'amaha Gameel" (it tastes good) Enjoy your time in Egypt - Happy Travels Dale, thank-you for sharing your journey with us all 🌎 🌍🌏😎
All the Egyptians I've met outside of Egypt are some of the friendliest people on earth, comical as well. I don't know why the hell the locals in the most touristy spot on earth would be so offended. Maybe it's the state of politics and the economy. It's almost like they don't like tourists and all...
If you visit the non touristic places you would find them friendly as well The camel restaurant owner was friendly and he didn't scam Dale But the as*holes at the touristic places is their job to take the tourists money just avoid them
@@DanHeather I am egyptian myself and i can be sure that we egyptians don't hate anyone But foreigners misunderstand us a lot, like when they think that the "negotiation marckets" are kinds of scam but in reality it is not Or when they think "children wanting to take a selfie with them" is sexual harassment
