I was in SPY too. Doing puts and calls. Thanks for keeping it real Umar and admit pros like you can also have some hesitation then its too late. Like how you summed up in the end about maximizing those high prob setups. Sometimes, I get impatient and cut winners early bc it can take up to an hour at times to go up 1 point.

Love the recaps, watch all of em and learn a bunch from them. Got a question, how do you know ur stop price? I have been using trade Zella for a while now love it, but idk how to figure out what my stop price would've been, yes I always do have a stop area on the stock price but don't know what the contracts price would be at that point.

Thanks Umar for a great video. I traded SPY too today puts and calls. Like how you summed up at the end about maximizing high prob trades. Sometimes I am impatient and cut winners early bc a selloff can take a while. Sometimes it takes an hour for it to drop one point. I wait 20 min range bound then cover my shorts. Check bk 10 min later and the stocks finally sells off. SMH.

This is exactly the video I needed, Today I took two nice scalps on Smmt, stuck to my trading plan with good risk management for a nice modest profit on a small account. Called it a day, as I didn’t want to over trade as( I am subject to that).Hindsight 20/20 went back later in the day just to notice it had chopped up almost 100% more afterwords. So true what you are saying its hard as a trader to look back and think if only i would have taken another trade I would of made so and so. But true reality is longevity in this game just gotta keep sharpening that sword and working on the skills sticking to the plan.

Hello Umar, your videos are great, but why only spy, why not other large caps? how do you escape with algo spike when it sees your positions?

The %’s seem off, did you input a starting balance for the account?

Very very good analysis, in my personal experience after I experienced big gain first hour of the day and if I keep trading there will be very good chance i get it all back or a lot of it back. However I also don't want to walk away so what I do is that I keep trading, but at 1/10 or 1/20th of my normal position and yes I still lose more than I earn but I am learning valuable experience with the market and my own psychology.

Funny enough I took the exact same trade as you at 9:41 and caught the move down and at the exact same region when you were thinking to FOMO back I actually took that trade and got chopped out. Thankfully still ended quite green on the day, but I really appreciate these kind of videos that you put out explaining your emotions during a trading day. It really helps those learning to understand that even at a higher level traders still go through the same emotions and potentially make the same mistakes as those that are still early into their trading career. How do you calculate how much contracts you're going to use for the the risk your getting. Let's say you're risking 1% of your account, and there is 0.5 cents of risk from your entry towards your stop. is there a formula?

Just wondering, why not trade SPX? You will save money on commission and the tax treatment is much better than SPY.
