It was Mayday holiday when hotel prices were a bit inflated. Otherwise $80 price tag should have got you a much better room: a bigger fridge, a personal locker, the toilet should be fully automatic, should have another giant "rainforest" showerhead on the ceiling, larger glass windows, curtains should be fully automated, the window view should be better, etc... Anyway, that hotel price must include a very good morning breakfast buffet.
China is really a cool place right ? Very affordable living cost with amazing food, nice people and modern infrastructures , mostly it is very very safe, enjoy your time ahead and big thank you to you guys for showing the real China to the world, after lived in UK for 10 years, I love my country even more and super grateful for the return !
The hotel is quite comfortable and luxurious! I was in Chongqing last year and discovered that Chongqing was one of my favourite cities in China. I will definitely visit this city over and over again. My first visit to Chongqing took place at the beginning of the 90s, then Chongqing was largely a backward rural-like place, which did not impress me very much.
Dear Luke and Naomi, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to both of you. As foreign RU-vidrs traveling through China, your efforts to showcase the true essence of China to the world through your videos are immensely appreciated. It's disheartening that Western media often misrepresents China, but your firsthand experiences and honest portrayals are helping to correct these misconceptions. As a Chinese person who has lived and worked in Australia for many years, I deeply understand the sentiment of "loving your country even more when you're abroad." Your journey and the stories you share are invaluable, offering a fresh and genuine perspective on China. I hope you continue to enjoy the rest of your travels and keep revealing the real China to your audience. If you encounter any difficulties, please feel free to reach out to us. I'm sure you already have a significant following of Chinese fans who will always be there to support you. Wishing you both an incredible journey ahead! Regards Benji
You guys are really famous now in China and mainstream media. Love you guys. Just show all your true feelings in China ! And really welcome you guys! From Guangzhou.
You are adventurous explorers, yet calm; your conversations are informative, authentic, yet funny; your experiences are new and exciting even to some of us. I toured 7 cities in 21 days in April-May, was truly impressed by the high efficiency and convenience of daily living like high-speed train, wechat, and alipay. Enjoy the rest of your stays in China, look forward to new videos
@@moyoyo7575 Yes, I am a Chinese living in the Philippines. Their videos are watched and loved by Chinese people all over the world. Their videos show China's great architecture, Chinese hospitality, Chinese delicious food, China's beautiful scenery... This is the real China
Because the city build over top of the hills. That’s why they have the most diesel buses in china and give them enough power when they’re going up hill.
Chongqing is affectionally known as "The Mountain city", the entire city is built on mountains and hills, so there are some really steep slopes....which made it even more magical...you think you are on the first floor, but you could be standing on the rooftop of another building. Explore this vibrant city especially the amazing night life, I'm sure you will love it
When i was in china, specifically Chongqing Chengdu back in nov 2023, i went specifically to malls, they provide quality assurance to me. Going back in less than 100 days this time suzhou shanghai!
awesome video as always, and glad to see you guys were traveling to my 2nd hometown. People in Chengdu tend to be more mellow while people in Chongqin are more outgoing, both are friendly cities in general. Hope you enjoyed your trip there and looking forward to see more videos from you❤
Having an ashtray in the room does not mean it is a smoking room. Hotels do this as they know a lot of chinese people would ignore the 🚭. It is the same in restaurants, although in some, the floor is the ashtray.
King size bed in China is a super common thing with good hotel. when I travel to other countries in which I can not find k in g size bed for my wife and I, we just can not fall asleep. it’s crazy for two to sleep in queen or double bed omg
Nice video! Thank you. I'm a Chinese and I stayed in Dublin for 3 months last year. Dublin is a great city with distinct difference view at different district. I like Phoenix Park a lot. And all people I met are so kind. The Chinese food in Dublin is also pretty authentic. But I have to say the hotels in Dublin is really expensive. I remember it costs more than 120 euros per night so I turned to a short term rental and shared a house with others. Another impressive thing was that once in a Chinese restaurant, an Irishman sitting at the table next to mine told me about the history of Ireland's liberation from Britain, saying that both Ireland and China had been colonized by Britain in the past, and that this was a pain to them.
love you guys for sharing the funs. I spent May long weekends in Xi-an, the hotel rate went triple the normal rate. Your room is spacious and luxury, well worth it. Enjoy
@@TwoMadExplorersThis hotel you are staying in is too expensive. There are many $50 hotels, which are absolutely not worse than this hotel. $80 is too expensive. There are many $15 hotels in Chongqing, and even many $10 hotels are not bad.
Welcome to my hometown. In fact, there is no need to spend $80 to stay in a five-star hotel. You can just find a homestay or an ordinary hotel, which costs about 150 yuan. It has all kinds of facilities and is clean and convenient.
Because the U.S. government and specifically NY in this case tax us to death to pay for their crap and pensions. How else can the number one economy in the world look like a third world country?
For transaction fee, I would recommend you to use your foreign credit card directly. Most of the upscale hotel will support foreign credit cards without additional charge. Same approach if you are going to buy anything expensive, check with the merchant whether they accept foreign credit card. If they do, use your cards directly.
i alway make sure there is a fridge when i travel.i too also travel budget sometimes a little better tho.i have my own portable small kettle for boiling water. i also like to carry a few other small lightweight things to make my travels better and easier.im a full time traveler too just not a vlogger
Regarding the engine sound, I can explain that the fuel used by buses and old taxis in Chongqing is natural gas, which is actually a clean energy. However, the fuel tank cannot have a large capacity, so it can only be used in the local bus system, but now they are slowly switching to electric car.
In China, the majority of people in their forties and fifties typically cannot speak English. Those in their twenties and thirties can communicate in basic English, as it was a mandatory subject in middle school, but as they age and use it less frequently, they tend to forget it. Teenagers are likely capable of understanding basic English conversations, provided that it is spoken slowly. The primary reason young people feel hesitant speaking English is due to a lack of confidence in their accents.
To all foreign friends: welcome to China! Respect us, and u guys will receive true hospitality which u've probably never enjoyed in other countries :) love u all
Holiday price is crazy. The gym part is good. I just checked the location of this hotel. Too far away from the city center. I think that will be very inconvenient for u guys to tour.
I'm not sure if you were charged 1 euro or 11 euros. If it is 11 euros (100 yuan), it may be a hotel deposit. When checking out, it will be refunded to the original account. In addition, Alipay has a free transfer limit of 20000 yuan, and the part exceeding 20000 yuan will be charged a service charge of 0.1% (minimum 0.1 yuan each time). If real name authentication is possible, you can receive a lifetime free transfer quota. However, this is not realistic for foreigners. I hope it can help you.
