Sarah for President, you happily correct your good self, apologise, oh yes you are human but what a human being human (see what I did there, I played with words ;-)). What a pleasure to know you're in the world.
A little bit of Aussie trivia for ya. Aussies buy more land cruisers than any other country even though we only have 25 million population (the Saudis are catching up though), Toyota even built their test and dev facilities in Australia because of our harsh environment. We get a 38 gallon tank in Aus where you get a 24 gallon tank so fuel range isnt as much of an issue here. We do love our landcruisers and hilux's.
@@SarahnTuned No... it would be a bad move. The only muscle car choice here in Oz is the Mustang, no Camaro, Challenger or Corvette. And the Ranger only has 2 motor choices, a 5 pot 3.2 diesel and a 4 pot 2.2 diesel... no petrol ecoboost. Even worse for the Colarado, 1 engine choice, a 2.8 litre 4 pot diesel, no Tacoma available here. Hilux now has only 1 motor option, a 2.8 diesel, the 4 litre V6 petrol engine option has gone. I would move to the US if I could. Good fun to watch channel BTW.
Most entertaining car review yet! Loved the theme, music selections, and the editing was spot on! Fun fact: I survived an IED blast in Afghanistan in 2008 in a light-armored version of a Land Cruiser so they really COULD possibly survive the apocalypse (if only they got better gas mileage) 😂 💀
Sarah, this is one of your best reviews ever! It's got scenery, sound track, a bad ass car and Lil' Sarah doing her best Vanna White routine. Plus...snakes, rifle mounts, urine and old cardboard...what's not to like? Keep up the great work. Love your channel.
Another one to add to the top SnTx2 videos, funny, well written, great delivery, good music selection, zero cring, very well done. Liked the challenge excepted line and labcoat Sarah intro.
Yes, I have a 2019 Cruiser and love it! Like the light hearted review, cracked me up. I would use it for an apocalypse and when it runs out of gas it’s a great bomb shelter 😂😃
This is still one of the best reviews on this vehicle that I have seen. Trust me people in Africa do take this off-road. I’ve been there before so I can testify to that. In Nigeria it is used as a military vehicle and it is also used for people in the government. But I think it’s the one with the executive package that I’m not sure we get in the states.
I am also wearing a former uniform item - it's cleaning day, and ACU trousers are perfect for that. And changing oil. And deploying on aircraft carriers.
I can't justify buying a Land Cruiser, but I'm definitely thinking about spending a stack on a new 4Runner TRD Pro if/when Toyota adds all the Safety Sense stuff (hopefully next year). Until then I'll be driving my trusty old 2004 4.7-liter V8 4Runner Sport. Hands down, it's the best vehicle I've ever had.
Love it, those big full frame SUVs are badass!! I’d have been drifting that bad boy o that dirt road like no tomorrow! Awesome video, I can tell you took the editing and filming to the next level!!
This wasn't a car review, this was a full on production. Great work, I dig the format! I might be biased, but my ultimate off-road survival platform is a Range Rover Sport Supercharged, as long as there's still diagnostic equipment available when it all goes to hell.
A new Land Cruiser is $76K while an Escalade is $64K on cars dot com. While a 2009 with less than150,000 miles the LC is $26K and a Escalade is $17K. A new LX570 3-row is $92K while a 2009 is $27K. So the LC drops $50K and the Escalade only drops $48K. Toyota LC is not luxurious and should not have that depreciation compared to another luxury marque.the LX is more like a luxury vehicle in it’s high depreciation of $65 in the last decade.
A far cry from the Land Cruisers of the distant past. I did some major work on a ‘78 Land Cruiser, very spartan like a military Jeep, but I found it to be one of the most well thought out back country vehicles ever. Designed to be serviced in the middle of nowhere, and get you out & back reliably. Luxury & tech are great, but for a real post apocalyptic trail slayer the older ones are it.
It's made to do exactly what you did with it! Traverse crappy roads in undeveloped countries for 20+ years and hundreds of thousands of miles. The reason it is so luxurious and expensive is because it shares almost no components with any other Toyota's and if you took off all the "Luxury" stuff it would still be a 70k truck and nobody here in America is going to pay that kind of money without leather, multi zone climate control, etc. etc. no matter how many years and hundreds of thousands of miles it lasts. I think even the engine is unique to the Land Cruiser, same displacement and basic design as the Tundra/ Sequoia version but I think it is built completely different.
Sarah, Top Gear is still called Top Gear on BBC America. New episodes play on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. eastern time. Not sure what time it comes on in your region as you are in the Southwest and I am not....
We have nowhere here to take cars like that, so I find it really interesting watching your videos on them. Hope tater tot makes an appearance soon too 👌
Lil Sarah!! 😍 I like how lil Sarah subconsciously taunts tall Sarah to go faster, she does, and all you see is lil Sarah grab the handle and says “noooOOOooo”. 😂 Great review! I passed it along to my friend who’s been thinking of getting 1. 👍🏻
You make your reviews so much fun to watch. I can't help but watch them even if i don't care about this particular car. Amazing work, and i really liked the apocalypticy.... apocalipsical.... wait, now i got it... apocaliptic colorgrading. Excellent job =)
When you get to the top of Redington Pass you can see the 151 acre ranch Paul and Linda McCartney occasionally lived at in the '80' and '90's and Paul still owns. Thanks for the review. I'm sure the Land Cruiser is worth $88,000 to some folks. But, it's a bit of an overkill for most of us.
Awesome video as always! Your reviews are mini adventures! Btw Sarah is a scientist since she wears a white lab coat Bill Nye the Science Guy is a scientist since he wears a white lab coat. The 2 Sarahs know how to survive and would make life worth living, of course
Sarah - great job on this video - I think $88k is probably a reasonable deal when compared with some of the similar sized european suvs - at least you would have a better time after the warranty runs out ... or post-apocalypse ...
Love the Land Cruiser it’s an icon in some countries like Russia it’s counted as a cool car like the g wagon or in African countries used to supply food and stuff, really great car 👌👌
That's what's commonly refered to as a Kensington Tractor on this side of the pond :) Designed to take ones children to school, dahling! On the other hand strip it down to the paintwork bung some rally seats in and a whopping great turbo and go Paris-Dakar Rally. Now there's a challenge for ya. PS me thinks you need to find some Mud to put that thing through it's paces.Gotta get down and dirty :))
I loved the theme and how you consistantly stayed with it thru out. I liked the perfect remote static transition edit...and the smellorama "the end smells like urine and wet cardboard.... A great review Toyota should be happy with your honest report. It would make a great bugout vehical , to pull your real off road vehicle with . Then you can use the land cruiser as camp...while you use your real off road vehicle " to beat up" as you say.
You mistaken the 3ur 5.7 does not power the gx and there is no gx570 Think you meant the LX570 which is basically the land cruiser in Lexus guise The 4.5 twin turbo diesel v8 although makes not much horsepower it is actually very understresed and detuned for reliability typical Toyota With a simple tune you can make over 350hp and over 1000nm of tourqe reliably
It’s called an electrolyzer, Sarah. Welcome to the Solar Hydrogen Economy. Now, start running your cars on CNG so you too can help pave the highway back to Hydrogen~
Ride Clean & Save Green! Today, 7 cleaner, safer, local fuels are available across the country for less $ than the price of deadly DIEsel or toxic gasoline~ CNG is about half the price per mile of gasoline, and the exhaust out the tailpipe is CLEANER than the ambient air of ANY metropolitan city!!
At 80+K it should be wearing a Lexus emblem. It's all nice and dandy but wait for a sensor or an electronic to go out during an apocalypse, I doubt Toyota would honor the warranty work haha.
One of my favorite car channels, and my favorite series of vehicles. I prefer the older ones (specifically the 80, the 60 and the 100), but the new 200s are nice too. I surely can't afford one!
There have been soooo many times that I’ve need a third row seats for road trips with the cronies and thought about one of these. I can’t give up my first gen Tundra though.
Got a different version, what is called in US Lexus GX 470, but I Europe it has 3.0 D diesel that I use for overlanding, and I love it. You can do anything in it except track day week-ends. :). haul shopping and kids or go across Sahara all stock, maybe some engine/gearbox shield mounted. Extremely easy to maintain and repair. We don't get the 200 un Europe, I wish we would. Love the review :)
Land Cruiser nut here and I've owned 3 LCs. 200s are trash. The Land Cruiser name and prestige runs on the 76/79 series lengendary'ness and that's what gets people thinking the 200 has the Land Cruiser aura. The seals let a bunch of dust into the cabin, the injectors for the 4.5L is problematic, and the electric functions can cause havoc such as a simple CEL causes all the offroad goodies like Atrac and crawl to not work. Radiators are made cheaply and crack after 120k kms. It makes for a good luxury wagon though
Something tells me you would survive👍 Great review -fun as always those Top Gear episodes with the Diesel Toyota pick up we’re awesome Hope you saw all of them I think there was 4 of them. I always wished Toyota had a diesel engine for their trucks I drove a hi lux with a diesel and it definitely had the grunt.Land Cruiser it killer but so expensive I wish they still made the FJ cruiser that was made to beat up on and you can get a manual one too. Looking forward to the next video thanks for all that you do. John from MI.
Theres nothing soft about this machine. It's a tried and tested machine from desert war to tropical rainforest to snowy tundra. You'll find a land cruiser making easy work of any terrain and doing so reliably.
it is so expensive because it can take the hell being beaten out of it! since I can't justify the cost of a land cruiser I went with a gently used Sequoia, which has the same engine at least, and is almost as large, and still fairly capable off-road for a full sized SUV.
The hydrogen fuel cell won’t be super-efficient either but I imagine it will get the job done. Look up Ragnok mine in central Québec for the hydrogen plant they’ve developed using a wind tower.
Whatever you do Sarah-nTuned, don't forget the Double Tap. Sorry, Zombieland reference I couldn't resist. 😂 www.zombielandrules.com/all-zombieland-rules/
Definitely a high end AWD SUV. What us English refer to as a Chelsea Tractor. It’s for rich poseurs, although the irony is that it does have truly phenomenal off road capabilities & durability but what a shocking lack of fuel economy!!! 💸 Your reviews are developing nicely, you’ve been polishing your true colours. Even look good in a lab coat dammit
