Hello, Mr. Michelmore. What's your choice string library for a consistent natural arpeggiation? A lot of them appear to be loop-based and pre-programmed patterns rather than taking on any chords. Thank you.

I've spent less than half the money I spent when I was seventeen - and I've got way more possibilities now than I dreamed of then. Hey Guy, I like that you are attempting to do something for people that are starting out and short on budget. I would love to see you make a song (or score) with Spitfire LABS. It is completely free, including the sample player - and they add fantastic new sound packages all the time! You said that all that was used, except for Cubase was 500 - you didn't mention the cost of Kompakt though, which is quite expensive (although it gives you a lot). So that's why I'd love to see you using this entirely free library. Thanks for allowing us to look into your workflow, and showing us that even with a serious, big piece like this you can have fun - Enjoy!

a cool little trick I use in almost every one of my compositions (This is in regards to the reversing samples into each other) I get the initial transient and put an extremely abnormal amount of reverb on it. I then render that out into an audio file, cut off the transient so you are left with the reverb tail and reverse that. it makes a really cool effect to sweep into a section.

The realist in me realizes, they probably would work in a dull office job in public service or in an insurance company to make a living. Hi Guy, I really enjoyed this video. Speaking of cheaper libraries, I was wondering if you’ve ever tried any of the Garritan Libraries. I’ve been a GPO user since it came out in 2004 I think it was. They’re super simple to use and can sound pretty good. I built a huge template, based on your Template in a Weekend Program using several of Garritans libraries. Admittedly, they don’t compare in size to most of the Pro libraries, but the sheer amount of instruments you get and the efficiency of the Aria Sample Player is pretty amazing! I only bring it up because the price point is, comparable to the one you just used. It’s only $150 for GPO 5. It’s a good library for beginners, professionals and composers with limited resources. I hope you have a great day. Jonny

I used it a ton and absolutleyy you can achieve great things with it. Though the accessability regarding depth of that library might be offsetting for many. I especially love the Cellos and Oboe in the first Miroslav Philharmonik.

Is anyone else hearing distortion when he plays the samples?
@Morgenmaane
@Morgenmaane 4 года назад
Yes! I thought I was the only one hearing this! There's a crackling sound. I have this same problem on my computer everytime a sound starts (from ANY sound source) and I don't know how to fix it!
@hyunmineun9322
@hyunmineun9322 4 года назад
It's probably caused by the low buffer size he is using. To demonstrate what he is doing while recording, he might have set the buffer size lower so that he doesn't have to deal with the delay.
@hyunmineun9322
@hyunmineun9322 4 года назад
@@Morgenmaane Try using higher buffer size to get rid of the popping noises.
@InterfearenceNL
@InterfearenceNL 4 года назад
It's a metronome, to get the timing right. You can hear it plays the bpm constantly (130 bpm), so it's not caused by a low buffer size or anything.
@rikkiclimbingtrees
@rikkiclimbingtrees 4 года назад
@@InterfearenceNL you can hear it when the metronome isn't playing if you use headphones, so it's not the metronome

Hi Guy, I'm new to your channel, I'd be really glad if you could answer me this, I see that during your process you didn't touch a single compressor or EQ yet the track sounds absolutely majestic and full. Mixing has always been one of my weak points and I was wondering if you did any post processing after this video or if you can achieve a high quality sound with the presets alone just by adjusting volume while composing the score on the go like you did. Thank you,

Fascinating watching the process. I can afford the $99, but I have an extreme lack of education & training in music, and I'm too damn lazy to practice. I can however be proud that after 53+ years I still know how to play the same three cords on a guitar that I learned in the late 60s. I will be back to watch more of your videos however...

Thanks so much for posting this - it's exactly what I needed and affordable to help jump start my return to making music after 16 years away. I've always enjoyed epic sounding music and with this library and a plethora of your other videos, I can now make music like this. Who knew quarantine could be so exciting?

Good points - this one is for Kontakt Player, so no additional costs. I found the sound on my RU-vid video congested - so not sure if that would be the case with the real thing, but the supposedly loud thumps sounded as though a compressor was kicking in just before the thump. Might protect one's ears but the sucking out effect is not something I'd want to have.
