That’s the correct way to do. 👍 I watched many videos about replacing the irrigation valves, most of them showing that they bought the whole unit, unscrewed the top part of the new unit, transferred the diaphragm from the new one to the old unit and screwing the top cover back on. Why to buy the whole unit, just for the diaphragm spending $35, when they can just buy only diaphragm for $8. If I have to buy the whole unit, I’ll replace the whole unit without tampering with the integrity of the unit. The units that are over 10 years old needs to be replaced with the whole unit. Ours is 14 years old and it recently started leaking. I bought 4 new valves and will be replacing the whole thing just like in this video.
I was trying to do the same change but adding a valve pvc was caped but I turned off the main water source and water was floating up when I cut the pvc at the bottom like u but the water flow messed up my connection and leaks
How did u get the male adapter to go in all the way to the valve? I used teflon tape and i still get about 1/4 gap of thread and it's leaking from there. I'm using HUNTER valves
