Ha i'm not one bit surprised that this tasted more or less identical to all the other pound curry ready meals out there Pap, and the one thing I tend to find separates these pound curry meals from the more expensive ones is the fact that the curry and rice are all in one compartment rather than divided up into two separate ones 😁
Really nice to see videos back on - always enjoyable and rewarding. / Great playing mate - fab tune too. / 2.01 dog head looking up and to the left, prominent eye and pointy ears! / Hmmm note so impressive it seems, but then again it is £1. It is not something that I would buy and enjoy, but I say again you can get a curry and rice for a £1 and it does appear edible. / Mark,
Thanks 4 this review im going to try some of the £1 range at farmfoods i had the pepperoni pizza last night reminds me of £1 pizza like just essentials asda etc but the bakes are more than a £1 now 😢 great review again
This is my level of food, cheap and pretty much tasteless but it fills a hole. I do notice the shrinkflation in the 375g weight though. 400g has always been the normal weight of these kinds of meals.
Didn't even get the lemon juice and salt treatment... But there's clearly a market, or they wouldn't make them. Got me thinking about what I'd buy to eat, if I only had £1... An avocado? A Pot Noodle? Raisin and Biscuit Yorkie? ✌
I think this is really aimed at the budget pocket and a few put aside until the next payday. I wouldn't purposely buy it but as you say, it's a quick and easy fill. I see that you wanted 2 beethoven's for your piano then paps? and like the ready meals lately, it too came in a smaller portion 😊
I don't mind the odd one of these curries, nothing spicy, bit sweet, but a £1 you can't complain, slap some chips on it to make it a meal, the Mayflower curries they sell in Farmfoods I really like, plenty of chicken or beef in them, think Paps has reviewed them before
Yeah Papp... It is what it is buddy... They're nothing more than a quick and cheap stop gap ready meal... Which will fill a little hole if you're hungry... You certainly wouldn't serve it to your invited dinner guests coming around for a meal... But they're great for keeping in the freezer to grab quickly for an easy snack... If you want something of a much better quality... Then you're going to be paying three or four times the price of this Farmfoods Chicken Curry & Rice... And you're probably right too... Stating that all the other similar basic Curries offered by other supermarkets... Are probably all made together in the same factory... Glad to see you back Papp... Take some extra time away if you need to my friend... Many thanks for the review pal... It's very much appreciated... All the very best... Cheers mate. 🍺
Hi Pappa👋 Robbie Williams great stuff 👍 I don't like the look of that at all. It looks like those manky frozen cooked chicken strips that they sell in bags. Even for just £1, I probably couldn't eat it. I am eating more and more vegetable and lentil curries these days. Nice one Pappa👍
I think five out of ten is fair pap. It might not be the best chicken curry, but it does the job when one is skint. I wouldn't buy it but it's something cheap to eat 🙂.
I always love the outtakes. This isn't one for me, I hate the thought of buying plain boiled rice because it's so simple to make. I wonder if you added garam masala if it would have lifted the taste a bit?
My problem is 1 - 375g vs 400g and 2 its a pound when others still do it for 85p So I would ask why pay a pound for 375g when you can spend 85p for 400g I am sure many are made in the same factory since there seems little difference bat all between them. you may still be able to make it by using own rice 52p KG so do 175g of rice or 9p. a jar of curry sauce the cheap on in morrisons etc 49p version. if you can get it. But even the 99p version is 500g so 1/3 (166g) is needed or 33p then all you need is some cheap chicken and not much of it only 37g the only thing is offers is all in one quicker cooking but may be still not value
@@Papparoni NP, there's not much point or money in doing supermarket food reviews, there are so many. Cooking is a better niche and music, you can create accounts on and upload content to RU-vid, TikTok, Instagram, Patron and a website private members area ;)
Cheers Skorpion. I'm not actually in it for the money, just enjoy seeing what people think, it's why I don't bang on about like, subscribe and share. I wouldn't ever go near TikTok for many reasons but a members only website sounds better.
Hey pap good to see you back. Obviously you review products as they come but with £1 meals like these you literally have to smother them in salt and pepper haha. I tried the macaroni and cheese in this brand and it was by far the worst mac and cheese I've ever had would not buy it again
'Far nicer tasting quid meals out there'. That I'm sure of... Hi Papp. O man! If being down to your last quid isn't bad enough, you have the hassle of choosing which far better tasting quid meal to spend it on. Oh ffs! I wonder if there's a 'Quid Meals' app that shows what's what, where it is (near me) and value for money. That would come in handy when planning a meal budget or just a feed. Nice break 11 days since your last review. What happened.. Did you spend all your money on the last lot of meals? Now it's back to a quid here and a quid there meals. Mate, I've been hitting the Wombok cabbage of late. 2 medium size Womboks in a bag $5.90 whereas a half of a regular is $7.90kg The bag is much better value. I'm chucking it in everything from stirfrys, soups, slow cooks, anywhere cabbage will go. The after effects are something else. Essence of John. Have a great week. Cheers John 👍🤤😀
