I work at Cook. It is a bit pricey for the portion, but they do use the very best ingredients. They dish up the fresh food by hand then freeze it straight away and send it to the shops. Meals from each batch are taste tested and if something is wrong or does not taste as normal the whole batch is scrapped.
Looks really good. I am having to live on ready meals (health reasons) so constantly on the look out for nice meals. Thanks Pap. Take care of yourself.
Sometimes Cook shops do have offers on . The Curry is tastier than the freezer shops ,but I prefer Waitrose curry, a tad cheaper and tastes more like a restaurant job.
Ah nice to see you back Paps as it's been a while, i've always wondered which supermarkets you can get this 'Cook' range from, as i'm yet to stumble across it! Great video and review as always my friend 🙌
Many thanks Mr Atkinson. I first found this range in a place called Hardys Farm Shop, then it was popping up elsewhere. This one was from my local Co-op :)
£5.75 for that 😮😮! Even if its quality its still a small portion. I can order garlic chilli chicken from my takeaway for £7 and its better than 6/10. Great review papp thx for warning me lol.
Good Afternoon Papparoni, another excellent appraisal of this Cook product it looked very good it is a shame that it did not have that Garlic taste you would expect - Take it easy and enjoy the rest of the Day Mate :-)
That's really pushing the till at £5.75 But if it floats your boat, then why not. Probably would've been better if it was a compartment meal with rice at a cheaper price. Take care of yourself Papp. Cheers mate 👍🤤😀
Funnily enough Papp... I've not been eating very much either these last few days... And it's not because i haven't got anything in the house... I've got enough food to keep me going for months on end... I just haven't felt like eating... In fact yesterday afternoon... I started to prepare my order for my local Kebab Takeaway shop online... But they don't open until 4:00pm... And the first delivery is at 4:50pm at the earliest... But as it got closer to the time to order and pay online... The less hungry i became... And I've absolutely no idea why Papp... So i ended up not ordering anything at all in the end... And i just had some Salt & Vinegar Chipsticks instead at about 8:00pm last night... And i'm feeling the exact same way again tonight too... So at the moment i'm not hungry at all pal. 😲 As for this Cook Garlic Chicken Curry... It's close to £6.00 for just 320g of Curry... For that kind of money... I can buy an Iceland 800g Ready Cooked Delamere Roast Whole Chicken for £4.50... And either a jar of Patak's Tikka Masala Curry Sauce 450g... Or Patak's The Original Madras Cooking Sauce 450g for £1.75 each from Asda... And i could make at least two or maybe even three meals for that kind of money my friend... So sadly it's not for me my friend... I might have to alter my online Asda order too Papp... And delete some of the fresh items i have on my shopping order... Just in case i'm still like this in several days time... Anyway my friend... Many thanks for the review Papp... It's very much appreciated... All the very best... Cheers mate. 🍺
@@rickb3645 You need to see a doctor...... It's not healthy. You are are suppose to have at least 3 meals a day.... or at the very least 2 meals a day, and just only having some salt&vinegar crisps , will not do much to give you energy. By not eating often it can effect your mood, but most importantly it effects your overall health for your body to function well.
Hmm looked slightly disappointing Pap..almost like the spices either weren't complete or didn't meld properly. Visually is seemed more Italian inspired than curry? Excellent pianoing..I'd forgotten how much I liked that piece:)
Well it looks a decent product but I'm not happy about paying £5.75 for a ready meal and after all you only get 320 grams I think your better off with an Iceland curry for £2 and you could add a little bit of extra chicken and still have money left to buy a tub of ice cream for desert.
I will certainly try more Nigel, for now, if you haven't seen them already, feel free to watch these... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--iJuArz5uRE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jVju7cwQ4Y0.html
It looks quite good but i like plenty of garlic flavour and as it lacks what it says, I won't be trying it. Shame really because the rest of it is quality. Have you noticed that garlic bought from big stores, doesn't seem to be as strong in flavour that it used to be?
I have noticed that 100% Uncle. I go for the organic garlic, which is better but still not as punchy as it once was. I find that the smaller bulbs are generally more flavourful, and wherever possible, I buy mine from farm shops.
The chicken content at 40% was good mate, maybe salt and lemon would help this along, I'll keep getting through their range, particularly as it is expanding..
@@Papparoni yes the chicken content is great but at this price point the meal should be amazing. I'll pass your comments on to my son who works for Cook 🙂
Have you had the dreaded Covid mate? Never tried any Cook products but via your reviews they don't look anything out the ordinary. Tiny portions and the fact it's not fresh I am not sure how they can justify nearly 6 quid for one component of a meal. Must be some profit margin they are operating at. Almost be cheaper eating out or getting a takeaway.
No mate, I've only had the flu once in my life and that was yonks ago! As for this brand, I do keep giving them chances and always end up expecting more. I reckon they need a few tweaks to be where they ought to be at those prices.
@@Papparoni Probably make their money on pensioners that think they are getting some sort of quality that they can bung in their freezer and cook in the microwave any time.
