You need to set yourself some sort of challenge for next year... Start off with a couple of hundred quid banger and work your way up to 20K profit in 12 months or something. That would make a great watch 👍🏻
Thats what i call a quick turn round, you didnt even have to put fuel in it lol. Once in a while the dice rolls in our favour and a nice little earner pops up . Thanks for sharing Rob.
It's very rare these days to get someone who actually describes a car right when selling it I got stung on a ford s max which wasn't cheap I wish all sellers were like this guy honesty is always the best policy. Brilliant video mate 👍
Great work sir! I'm currently doing a similar challenge, working my way up from a £150 banger to something a bit more tasty! Great video and very informative!
5 years ago I brought a 2007 zafira, £900 92k on the clock! All because it had been keyed on one panel, cost me £10 for a paint match and a steady hand spit and polish and she's still going strong and it's only just hit 96k. Very pleasant seeing g this video pop up 👍🏻
I admire your honesty when you sell a car 👍 it’s such a shame there are a few unscrupulous sellers out there that’ll tuck you up, had a few myself in the past. Well done, good sale 👍
Enjoyable video, I used to find a lot of my old motors on drives etc, but those days are long gone thanks to DVLA and all vehicles having to be sorned, insured etc etc😢😢😢
Nice one Rob. My son use to buy valet and resell on cars and 99% of the time, made a good profit, most times by just valeting and buffing up faded exterior paintwork and made them look like showroom condition.
Original owner was happy, new owner is happy and you're happy... What's not to like? Interesting video. I had a mate who would haunt the big car auctions looking for dirty, muddy, unkempt cars. He'd buy one, drive it back, get it valeted and then put it through the auction again. That's all he did, cosmetic stuff. He'd always turn a profit on every one without getting oily ever!
Just an idea for you. These can be bought cheap now but convert it to wheelchair accessible removing the back seats and a cut and weld to the floor and they make 3.5 - 4k ... just look on eBay.
You're a good man: honest and settling for enough by doubling your money 😎 nice to hear straight mechanics/dealers. Even better you're near my Island, even if I live 500 miles North of Edinburgh 🏝️
I normally use RU-vid for watching motorcycle stuff but stumbled across your channel and am working my way through your videos. This is a great channel with fantastic content, always interesting and really enjoyable to watch, especially so with me being a mechanical numpty. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Almost bought one actually, just because you said that the 6 speed manuals tend to fail at some times. For a car that I would like to have for 4+ years,it better have a good engine(Diesel only!!) and a great manual transmission
Nice quick turn around with that one Rob. Just shows what a good clean can do for a car. I'm the same as you a car has to be clean to sell for good money. Keep em coming. Great to see more varied videos.
Great video as usual. Keep em coming I’m really enjoying the channel. Love your 100% honest approach to what you do and how you convey it to the audience.
Really enjoyed this video Rob. What is good is you shifted it quickly and let someone else make some money out of the car (after gearbox) or grab a good keeper.
Hello Rob, There is a white fiesta titanium going through Thursday at sandwich reg Bk14 XXD. Don't bid on it. Engine failure due to electric water pump damaged in accident. I repaired it first time round. Some poor bidder is going to have a shock.
Have you tried Carly ODB adapter. Really convenient and easy to use. Uses an app that you install on your phone so no need to carry any large monitors around, fits in your pocket.
Traction control light is on because of the C0131 error code, not because of a wheel speed sensor. Only way to fix that is to fit a new hydraulic unit. Very common problem with the Teves MK70 system and affects many makes and models. Ford, Volvo, BMW, VW, Seat, Peugeot...
Had a zafira for years..great work horse. Gearbox casing is why the bearings wear out..been new updated gearbox case out for good few years..had mine done lasted years
I have same Launch, but the higher version (VIII) that can see more than your model! I check and update my Launch every so often. Mine does see ABS SRS fault codes. Good quick sale.
Nice work pal, when you're picking something up for that cheap it is just worth advertising as you get it as there will always be a market for spares/repairs with cars like this.
My man is Russian subscriber again thanks for video still waiting for coffee invitation. And hell yeah you sound like proper teacher man your speech is incredible I do clearly understand all what u saying God bless you please more video
@@sruk You sold the car on for less than the buyer wanted to give to you (this happened to me when I bought my first ever car years ago). Some say that it brings the buyer good luck with the vehicle they are buying, like an old superstition.
Really enjoying the cheap car challenge, i did a fair bit in the day. In fact looking for another now. Bangers are best is my moto. Keep up the good work.
1.9 cdti chocolate box we went with the 1.8 sri 140 comes with f17 box which you can pick up cheap only thing is there a 5speed and sound like they're about to blow up in 5th but if you buy a 1.7d box put all the gears into the f17 you got the d gear range then and acts like a 6 speed also to turn traction control off and on hold sport button and that seatbelt buckle in the back is probably goofed there are known for jamming and the side casing pops off
:-) ... Back in the day it was a trip up to Scotland auction with half a dozen mates in the van. Get six dirt-cheap motors from the auctions up there (pre internet ;-) and drive them back down South to make a killing (When insurances were only £25- a year and covered you to drive ANY vehicle) ... Those were the days :-)
Kicking myself for missing, in my home town yesterday, an retired gentleman selling a Toyota Auris Hybrid, 2012, full toyota service history, 51k on the clock and clean looking by the pics - £2850. Sold in 12 hours. Absolutely gutted i didn't see it sooner. Could have easily doubled my money on that at least.
Ive got that model zafira but the last year they made it 2014. Got it 3 years ago on gumtree for 4100 and I love the car its the 1.8 petrol at 70k miles in black...the guy sold it on a whim and had loads of calls for it I was the lucky first person. Its been a great car for me. Apparently they are very popular for uber drivers.
Nice Video and Idea, but for shopping around for a garage to do a gearbox refit for 150?? Double that would be cheap.. Vauxhall would probably charge 1k labour.
I’m selling one of these for spares. Perfect engine, gear box. Drives perfect. Looks perfect. Burgundy. Only con is it’s Irish reg so it’s Opel instead of Vauxhall
Brilliant video mate Following you like a hawk as I want to start doing Copart purchases etc and it’s good to see a down to earth tell how it is kind of person doing videos . Keep it up
Andy Jolley 1 second ago Brilliant - I was proud of myself for fixing the Washing Machine motor tonight, but you take it to a different level - Excellent Viewing even on an "absolutley horrid day

Depending on how it drove in first I think I would have driven it as is and only used first when I really had to. One of the biggies with diesels for me is replacing the dual mass flywheel when you do the clutch, I've heard you always have to and thats expensive so puts me off them cos what you save in fuel just goes towards that and the diesel particulate filters as well!
@@alymorning2961 Every single reason on my list for not buying a diesel car 🤦♂️😂. Luckily I only need a small petrol so won't be buying a diesel car, I'll just hire or borrow if I need a bigger diesel engined car, let someone else have the hassle.
I’ve got a 56 plate mk7 transit - I didn’t realise when I bought it new that it was the last year they wouldn’t be fitted with a dual mass flywheel or a diesel particulate - obviously it has no adblue and I got the added bonus of only 140 a year tax because it’s a euro4 engine . It’s been the most reliable van I’ve ever owned- I still have it and still going strong
@@Stop..carry-on I have two friends with luton vans, a VW LT and a Transit around that age and they're reliable and if I was buying a van or a large 4x4 then a diesel wouldn't be an issue and would make sense. Its just I don't see the point in having them in a regular car, in my opinion petrol for small and diesel for large vehicles.
I have a vauxhall astra 1.6 petrol 54plate 2005 75k miles literally mint condition with some tiny imperfections main problem is one rear door doesn't work i need to replace the wiring harness and some of the paint on the roof has come off. Other than that perfect
I am no expert but on my Zafira A the same thing happend to my door and I just assumed the actuator was gone so I bought an actuator for that door, then when I connected the new actuator it did not work so I took the actuator to the other door to see if it will work and it did, I then cut up the wiring loom fully and then noticed 1 wire was completely snapped, my brother then wired it back together using a kit and its now working, we then glued the loom back together and put tape around it. Try have a look, it may be a simple fix and I was surprised that 16 year old actuator was still working. (i.gyazo.com/ca76ecf8ec0cf6c66b6a5979a783b595.png).
@@MrRohanThomas im just going to buy a new wiring loom for the door too much hassle to repair it and probably have it break very soon idk alot of these have these problems to open the door just lock the car and open it from the inside (with the car still locked) make sure you never turn on childlock or you are in trouble😂
I loved the video, nice to mix up the content. At the end of the day you are the one taking the risk on the purchase, so really happy you made a profit. Keep up the good work 👍
How are cars in the UK so dirt cheep? If just checked online and here in Portugal people are asking between 7000€ and 9000€ for a 2007 Zafira! There's even one asking for 11500€ for a 1.9 CDTi with 142000 kms. Outrageous!
