Most people miss the irony of the "environmentalists" gathering the tools they would need to make their journey back to nature.

The desperation in the lyrics is depressing to the listener who has any notion of God's purpose in the world. Joan, if you think we are headed for the abyss, perhaps you will discover what that means sometime soon.

Lets not be resigned to this deluge. Stand up, let your voice be heard. The earth will survive, we may not.

Two prophet artists! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Ms. Baez and Mr Brown. You have always been among my favorite singer/song writers. You never fail to tell the difficult truths.

One amazing song...after a few decades have passed since this song was written, it seems even more sad now.
