Le Sommeil is a project that brings together friends and alumni of Schola Cantorum Basiliensis who share a love for French Baroque music and for playing together. Curated by mezzo-soprano Margarita Slepakova, it consists of representatives of the young generation of the European Early Music scene: Elena Abbati, Claudio Rado, Teodoro Baú, Pablo FitzGerald and Weronika Kłosiewicz-Paine, who collaborate with groups such as Monteverdi Choir, La Cetra, Il Pomo D'oro, Kammerorchester Basel, Abchordis, Los Elementos, B'rock Orchestra and others. Inspiration for the project came from the beautiful works by the harpsichordist Élisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, protégé of the King Louis XIV and one of the first women in the history of music to have their compositions published.
