Milwaukee Pipeline gave us a sneak peek at their upcoming drill and impact driver additions to the M12 Fuel power tool line. The 3404-22 hammer drill now has 400 in-lbs and exceeds what you can find on some compact 18V/20V Max drills. The 3453-22 is their impact driver upgrade, which features 10% more speed, while also getting upgrades in torque and a new tri-beam LED.

Milwaukee should include their new 2.5ah and 5ah batteries with the new kits.

I'm still rocking the 1st gen m12 fuel. I've used the drill with a 2" hole saw for masonry with great success to punch holes through foundations for pvc, and I've ran an 18" ship auger though both sides of a tree, (about 23" worth and it got hot!) but also with success. These gen 3 have made me raise an eyebrow. Love m12 tools! They are my goto.

I have the original m12. Fuel and I love it except the belt clip is trash loosens itself up all the time so I finally got the new one today and man it's so small and compact reminds me of my 3/8 stubby

Just scored the driver/drill combo with a free extra battery for $199 from the orange box. Thrilled!

Not worth upgrading for me, but I really like the lights on the hex driver.

I’ll stick with the 2018 m12 impact and hammer drill. Some solid tools.

I had the old non fuel versions. They worked fine for years. I just upgraded then saw this. Not gonna be worth the extra money.

Im actually somewhat excited for the new m12 hammer drill cause i've read and heard that they ditched the terrible electronic clutch for a mechanical one. The new impact doesnt do much for me, dont really see a reason to upgrade mine.
@procrastinator1842
@procrastinator1842 2 года назад
Same here, I'm also happy that they sell it as a drill driver. I never use the clutch and never use the hammer function. I used mine with a 1" spade bit all day and I always thought it was geared too fast and sacrificed torque. The new version has better gear ratios, pumped.
@TheSir2005
@TheSir2005 2 года назад
@@procrastinator1842 I never use the clutch either because its simply terrible. I only use the drill mode and i do use the hammer drill a lot in masonry for small wall plugs. I've taken the electronic clutch out of it a dozen times over the last 2 years because the pcb goes all apeshit if it gets covered in crap and when you run it hard enough. So im interested in getting the gen3 if they indeed ditched the electronic clutch otherwise ill be switching brands at some point again.

I just bought a combo kit for $180. I doubt these will justify the price. I don’t use a hammer drill much and have a corded sds if I really need it.

The new LED placement on the impact is cool, but not worth the upgrade from the 2598-22 kit I got last month. $180 is a hella good deal for that kit.

Yeah I’ve been running the old m12 non fuel set for years and just ran into a situation it didn’t cut it. Went and bought this the next day. At $180 it’s gonna be just fine for me and what I usually do.

We need speed and a lot more power for the M12 models. I bought the tools and thats one of my complaint. But it is a great small tool. I highly recommend them.

It’s funny they don’t recommend going over half inch in steel. I have the Gen 3 with less torque and I have no problem putting one inch holes in truck frames all day long. These tools are amazing!

Seeking feedback: DIY'er looking to get a new drill/driver with the 1st project being rebuilding a deck (most of foundation will stay in place). It will probably be the most I use any kit I would buy. Considering getting the M12 fuel combo kit. Would this be good a good kit for that? If not - what would people recommend?
@konner3593
@konner3593 Год назад
Hi, not sure if you’ve figured something out yet but here’s my input. For what you’re looking for, I would definitely recommmend the gen 3 m12 fuel impact kit. You could get the combo kit if you want the hammer drill but unless you need to drill through concrete then it’s not really necessary. I personally have the gen 3 m12 fuel impact and I absolutely love it. I use it for everything from automotive stuff to woodworking projects and it’s a fantastic all around tool that’s really good for lots of different things. So that’s what I would recommend. Hope this helps, happy DIY-ing!!!

Where’d you get the max capacities information from for the tool? I’d like to pull up such information for “need to know” reasons and curiosity.

i prefer speed with a hammer drill. let's be real, these "hammer" drills that aren't sds are really only good in block. hell, with enough speed you don't always need the hammer function in block
@johnc6343

idk what u talking about. Hammer drills can go through reinforced concrete like nothings there. SDS's are for big and long bits.

Does the m12 drill have kickback protection like the 18v?

A pretty good video. I like when someone does a review on a tool and they also include the price so you know if you're getting a good deal or not. When do you think a combo pack will be released? I was just about to pull the trigger on the quarter inch drive and as I was doing a Google search for the tool I came across your video. I would prefer to get a combo of this. I don't use a hammer drill that often and when I do I have my Milwaukee hammer drill 18 volt. I would like to have something a little smaller so when I help a friend out I don't have to bring my heavy tools with me. I most definitely gave you a big old thumbs up and since I enjoyed the video so much and found it very useful I hit the subscribe button also. I figured that's the least I can do on someone passes on good information.

Cam the drill cut 6" holes for recessed light?
@alvilla701
@alvilla701 2 года назад
Yes but I wouldn't recommend it, most people still need the 18-volt "drill", also almost any 12-volt "impact" driver is good enough for most people, so you need an 18-volt drill and a 12-volt impact driver

I’m not too excited for the new m12 drill and impact maybe in a couple years feat tools MILwaukee makes
@akaredcrossbow

I wish Milwaukee would only make useful m12 tools. A m12 hammer drill is ridiculous and a waste of money! Just get the m18 hammer drill that can do everything the m12 can do, and everything the m12 can’t do.
@ZeGermanHam
@ZeGermanHam 2 года назад
In order to make the M18 2904 hammer drill do everything the M12 can do, they'd have to figure out how to make the M18 1.23" less tall, 0.58" narrower, 0.95" shorter in length, and weigh 2.31lbs less will still being able to produce 1400in-lbs. Not going to happen. Milwaukee's M12 lineup is probably the most useful 12-volt tool line in the industry. Keep in mind that there is a genuine need for smaller tools in some settings. Get the tool that best matches your needs. For many of us, the M18 is not the right tool. Personally, I need the small size of the M12 and don't need the extra power of the M18.
