Yeah, great question! Most of these eScooters require a push before the throttle will work. Same goes for this one. For the price, this is a nice eScooter! Very similar to what Bird and Lime have been using... #NerdGold
Thanks for the video. We have two of these and my kids and I love them. Recommend 1.5 oz of slime in the tires and run them at 45-50 psi to avoid flats. Got a flat early on with lower pressure an it was a bear to patch. After about 100 miles one of the fenders cracked; still usable but trying to fix it with JB Weld or order a replacement. We'll see.

@@EDI6524 the speedometer is not accurate on this scooter when I'm riding the scooter I get up to 19 mph but is 1 mph slower so im actually going 18 mph and camper the swagger5 19 mph feels way faster. So if the speedometer says your going 15 mph your going 14 mph or 13.8 mph
How’s the quality of this vs the ES1? Or any other scooters if you have tried them. This seems very similar to the M365 except there’s no Bluetooth or app for the Gotrax. I think the Xiaomi (and Ninebot) got so popular because the rental companies were using them but this Gotrax seems like a really nice 250w scooter at a great price.
Ayden C mine came it is awsome the only thing I don’t like is it tops out at 15.5 mph and it has a safety thing so it does that cause I can’t get it to go faster even with me not on it
Did you order the from Gotrax directly or Amazon? Regardless, contact the seller. If ordered from Gotrax directly I know they have replacement rear fenders they can ship to you and can easily be replaced with a few screws.

There will likely be discount codes around Black Friday and in January (I am assuming). I also was told that Gotrax has a new GXL (comparable model) coming out in the next few months, but I have no details.
I can do that. I too have trouble unfolding/unlatching the GXL v2. I normally push down the back fender and try pulling up on the neck/tiller. It can definitely be aggravating.

I agree about the music. Get rid of it on this video, not necessary. Also, it would be safer if you could go at a slower speed than 15mph. And what about curved handlebars more like a bicycle?

Do you have any info on the noise, mine has a rubbing on the disc brake, which is fine, but there is a clicking and louder noise from the wheel upon movement.
I know when working properly there should be little to no noise heard other than the hub motor. Likely the back brake or the front hub motor wheel splash guard is to blame for additional noise. I believe the front splash guard can get off center and rub the hub motor, but I've had more issues than not with the back brake rubbing if you are hearing a squeak or scrape sound.
People braking the scooters.. This is not ypur typical small scooters.. Is not meant to jump obstacles or use in an agresive way.. Its mainly just to ride it. If you abuse the scooter ypu will brake it.
YNSTV, the GXL scooter feels nimble when riding, but is heavy for any jumps or tricks. It’s primary use is a commuter scooter, or last-mile transit. With that being said it’s definitely possible to bunny hop (at least the front wheel) over a small curb. I would be careful if you try and flip your feel position due to the position of the back brake.

Great video! I'm looking for a commuter scooter, since my company took our parking passes off us! I'm not paying £9 a day to park for work every day. It's only a 2 mile trip, but there's no bus route and no where to safely leave a bike. I thought I'd take this into the office and charge it up by my desk? I weigh a little over 180lb, about 13 stone. It also costs £419 on Amazon in the UK. Is this a viable option for the commute? What other scooters should l look at? I noticed in the comments, the Segway ES2 and the Xiaomi 365. Are there any others I should consider? Sorry, bit of a ramble! Last thing....can you use it in the rain? I noticed the Benchwheel electric scooter has a Waterproof Level: Ip 55 (no idea what this means) Anyway, thank you and any help you can offer greatly appreciated!
why are the reviews online all over the place? So say this broke within 2 weeks. Some say it great. Some say that customer service sucks and it s joke. Whats up with the huge difference in options?
Steven Schultz that’s what I am wondering. I asked a question about how well it works on hills. 3 people responded that it will be fine I would work perfectly for me and the other 3 said, no way and that I would have to push it up the hill. If I end up buying one I will reply how it works for me

I can say that I have had good luck with my GXL, and other Gotrax scooter versions, so far. I know that the battery life on my oldest scooter had diminished some, but it's barely noticeable. I still get numerous miles when I ride it. It has been reliable this far.
NEXT Persona, you can use this scooter in both manual, or kick-push off, mode as well as electric. The electric hub motor on the front does not give you resistance when kicking/pushing off. I am not certain (I can check when the weather is better), but I believe you might have to come to a full stop before the scooter will power on (assuming the scooter is powered off before you start) if you attempt to switch from kick/pushing off to electric power.
The GXL v2 and the G2 are NOT the same. If you go to the Gotrax site, click on 'Shop', 'Electric Scooters', and scroll all the way to the bottom where they have a comparison chart that is helpful gotrax.com/collections/electric-scooters
If the speedometer says your going 17 mph your going 16 mph this speedometer is not accurate i have one comper the swagger5 17 mph on the swagger5 feels so much faster
Are scooter batteries ok to charge sporadically? If I use it for getting around campus would it be ok to plug it in for the 50 minutes of class to add a bit of charge or should I wait until it's discharged?
No, the scooter (GXL version 1 or 2) will not power off when the charger is plugged in. I just verified this as well. My Segway Ninebot ES1 does not power off either, but on that scooter when plugged in the scooter will power on and charge, but will not turn off when fully charged. The GXL when powered off and plugged into a charger the scooter does not power on, but does charge.

I wanted to make a booster battery like in this video and he has a Gotrax like yours, and cause it stays on it works. You charge it using the AC adapter that comes with it using the port by the handles on the he scooter neck. Yes you can manually push it. There is some resistance from the hub motor, but not much
@@Wtfrank90 I have a swagtron scooter and I have nothing but good things to say about it. It's actually faster than the gxl I regularly hit 20 MPH and have been as fast as 23 not necessarily down hill. My only complaint is range I only get 6miles
I have not ridden the Swagger 5 so I cannot say with certainty. However, I have two Gotrax GXL scooters that both my family and I ride and enjoy. I have not had any issues as of yet with them and they are fun to ride.
@@PowerOnFun the swagtron swagger5 is better is like the xiaomi and the ninebot max. The swagtron swagger5 goes 20 to 22 mph with me. And 13 to 15 miles of rang not 11 miles is pretty good for me. Much better then all of the gotrax gxls.

I bought it. The worst scooter. It’s came defective, i didn’t used it before came new part after 2 weeks, and I used it and see it’s going only 3-4 miles not 9-12 miles, and I wrote them they answered me next week send few links how to fix I wrote them back that’s didn’t help. They said your warranty is end buy new battery. But I didn’t even used it, it’s new. The worst scooter and customer service I seen ever in my life. Don’t buy it.
Based on specs the batteries on the. Original GXL and GXL v2 are the same. As for the longevity of the batteries, I am not sure exactly. I know that as far as batteries go the life of them get less and less over time and charging. Gotrax May have an idea of overall hours per charge/usage.

Hey. I way about 110 lbs and I live in the forest, there are lots of hills and my friends houses are about 3 miles up a hill. Is this scooter good for this. Will I be able to make it to her house?
I would say “no”. The motor (front wheel) is a hub motor. It makes a bit of a “whine” noise from time to time when accelerating, but it’s very unlikely anyone other than the rider will hear it.
I bought mine at fry’s electronics here in phoenix and i was able to swapped it to a different one. I dont have the grinding noise anymore and it seems similar to my riding experience with bird escooter :) appreciate you responding back :) im a new subscriber 👍🏼👍🏼
If you hold the power button for a little over a second it will change the speed mode. The Gotrax scooters power on in speed mode 1 and can be changed to speed mode 2.
Just doing a Google search it looks like a compliant power supply is sold through Amazon. I looked at the power supply that came with my GXL V2 and it's output is rated at 42V 1.5A. I'll post a link to one that might work on Amazon, but I would suggest to check the Gotrax site also (I was not able to find one on their site when I looked last)
The scooter I bought from Dunhams Sport store the first one was crap the charger or battery was bad so took it back nothing I seen else was wrong with it ... The second was worse the charger an battery is ok so far but the scooter is crooked the wheel does not line up with the handle and the foot disk break is bad keeps sticking.. Should of got the handle break scooter.. Im not satisfied at all with and the front break does not work to good also my work is only like 5miles the scooter is down 2 to 1 bars already get there .. Should have 3 to almost 4 bars there an back I only the 1 speed sametimes 2 ...12miles ok yeah wright..... I think they need to remake it to go farther and make sure everything is staight an working good before shippinng them out..
Originally the Gotrax scooters had a speed mode selection (1 & 2), but from what people have been saying in comments here on RU-vid it sounds as though Gotrax may have removed the speed mode selection and opted for the faster speed set only.
The hub motor in the front will make low him when engaged at times. You may hear a sporadic light hiss from the brake that hovers over the disc in the rear.
I am not sure what the 22e error code is and although I have looked I cannot find any list of error codes for the GXL/GXL v2. I believe the best bet is to email Gotrax and ask them for the meaning of that error code and a possible error code listing (I assume they have one somewhere unposted).
