Glad this helped some of you guys! I stream here on RU-vid these days, stop by and say hello in the chat or drop a like on a stream to show some love. Appreciate you!
Your video was so simple and easy to follow, others get so technical or throw in unnecessary bits. Thank you very much for this, I thought I had been using my enb correctly this whole time...I wasn't even close! Liked and followed on Twitch
I applaud you sir. You start off with "hey guys it's ya boy-" You don't talk about your channel for the first 5 minutes of the video. You don't eat your mic. God bless you. You are a good person.
Slothability I installed my ENB but it was really strange when I played. I had a (I call it) "White Effect" on the Display and my ENB doesnt Looks how it was on the screenshots of the author of the ENB. The ENB is the Springtime ENB. Please help me ;) THX
Oh, Jesus, thank you. Someone recommended your Tetrachromatic ENB, and it looked nice enough that even though everything looked annoying and complicated, I thought I'd attempt to figure out how the hell to work with ENBs. Even aside from the fact that it looks nice, I'm really glad that I decided to go with something made by you first because you made everything super simple. And I loved that you explained WHY we did certain things so that I can know if maybe I should change some things later or not. I haven't even actually finished setting things up, but I went ahead and endorsed the ENB just for this excellent tutorial.
You sir spend a good amount of time making a mob for the community to enjoy and then spend another good amount on teaching others how to enjoy them...all for free. This is the sort of good and kindness that should get written into books.
I've been looking everywhere for a straightforward, no-nonsense tutorial on how to install ENBoost for the last few months, and none of them were of any help at all. I'd given up on trying to install it until RU-vid recommended this video. Within thirty seconds of watching, I knew I would be able to install this. Fantastic and easy-to-follow guide for installing one of the biggest headaches of a mod ever designed. You deserve more subscribers than you have, but I'm happy to add another one to your list. Thank you. PS: You remind me of a very similar RU-vidr called Gopher, who does some fantastic tutorial videos. Keep up the good work, brother.
Thank you for using peaceful music in the background. So many tutorial videos are destroyed by obnoxious music that you can't get rid of because you have to hear the person.
I freaking LOVE THIS. Specifically you, as you talk slowly and make sure to enunciate your words, in addition to how much information you gave us. THANKSSSS
This was amazing! As a novice, most guides just assume I understand whatever technical term they trow at me. But you've helped me understand what I'm doing, instead of just blindly punching in codes. You deserve more views!
i like how you werent going too quickly, eliminated the need to keep pausing and rewinding sections and also your voice, tone and music were calming, good tutorial man :)
Oh my gosh, it finally worked! Thank you so much for this tutorial and bless your heart! I've been trying to download enboost and your Tetrachromatic enb preset for three days now, and they have always failed me, but your tutorial definitely worked! Thank you so much again!
Setting the scene The year is 2020 Corona-virus sweeping the nation of England, Trying to fill time by Modding Skyrim and going freaking insane. This is the most helpful video I think I have ever come across! You are sunshine, my friend, Sunshine!
For those having trouble with the enb showing your characters eyes, no body, and blueish background when you start a new game. In enblocal.ini the parameter "UseDefferedRendering" was set to true. Toggling it to false fixed the issue for me.
if youre doing this in 2019 Disable razor apps in background. It for some reason breaks the game. Make sure all razer apps are closed, not just synapse
I recently discovered this channel through LifeStyleGaming, and I really love your tutorials!! I havent found a single other person who explains the installation that good and with a friendly calm voice. I´m serious. Keep up that awesome work. You earned this subscription.
Thank you so much for this video, it helped me out so much. I didn't realize that ENBs don't really work like other mods and can't be installed with mod managers (which is made even more confusing because some ENB pages offer downloads with mod managers instead of only being manual). You've saved me so much frustration.
I launched skyrim after doing this tutorial, and once I launched it, the whole world was bleak, gray, and hazy, and the lag was so intensely massive I could barely save and quit. What could my problem be? Can anybody help me or point out my mistake?
Vara Satoshi not sure why but I didn't see your original comment. What you are describing sounds like the intended look for the preset depending on the weather. Did you try this tutorial with any other ENB's. I suggest following along with the video with any other as well, such as NLA ENB, Seasons of Skyrim, etc.
***** I followed the video word for word, doing exactly as I was told to the letter. I didn't change anything except for when you told me too based on a specific setting that was meant for a specific spec on the computer. The game is gray and VERY laggy. When I started the new game it goes to the abandoned prison from alternate start, so it's pretty dark. But... my game was dead. I just undid most of what I did and just did ENBoost which is working well and I haven't crashed once since.
You, sir, are a godsend. You made a fantastic tutorial and even though I got a little confused when it came to VRAM and RAM I just paused the video and got a little ahead of myself, and you explained everything! Props to you, solid, consistent, and 10/10!
@Chase, you have your reply button disabled in your Google+ or YT settings. Film grain is part of the preset and you may have caught the preset during an awkward weather transition (it happens). Still a WIP but you can get rid of the film grain with the tweak guide I provide under the optional files section of the ENB mod page.
+Slothability Sorry I will have to fix that! Thank you so much. Yes, I just realized the enb is working as intended, I think it's very pretty, but it's too saturated for me to use it all of the time. I am going to explore some other enbs, because I am looking for something more crystalline and high res with some brighter more vibrant contrasts and shines. This enb is very grim and foggy and gives me virtual seasonal effective disorder. haha it is beautiful though and I thank you for this awesome tutorial! How easily can I revert my game back, though? I am a little hesitant to start making changes and deleting the stuff we added from the video. will I have to go back into all the skyrim prefs ans change those values back again or do I just delete them?
+Slothability Also, I noticed that in your showcase video of this ENB, it looks pretty clear and high resolution. My game was very high res before I installed this enb, and now it's looking much more low res...like almost bad graphics? I'm not sure. It's just very dark and hard to see well.
Chase Lawrence its all dependant on weathers as there's over a dozen different/unique weathers in different regions of the map. Some are clear and somewhat colorful while most are grim, dark and low saturation. At least you know how to install ENBs though, plenty out there to try :). Reverting your game is just deleting the old ENB files, the d3d9.dll/enbhost.exe as well and setting bfloatpointrendertarget=1 back to 0. Add in your desired AA and AF in your launcher or inis as well. This is only if you're going to vanilla though, if you're trying a new preset out, just leave the ini changes and only delete all the old ENB files (keep your enblocal though).
+Slothability You're a life saver man. I finally have a good understanding of how ENBs work and how to switch them out easily without corrupting any game files. I'm using seasons of skyrim on extreme performance right now, waiting for my gtx 660 to come in the mail. haha. I got this crappy amd radeon 4870 and im pushing it to its limit for sure. I appreciate your help and ultra prompt replies. SUBSCRIBED
OMG!!! Thank you so much!! I had no knowledge of this for the longest time of modding and I haven't even been using an ENB like I thought I was, it just was never enabled. As soon as I got into game and tested the performance, there has been no crashing and the game looks absolutely amazing. I am in tears, knowing that I have been missing out on so much. Thank you again for this tutorial, otherwise I would still be in the dark. Credit goes to you, Enboost creator and all modders everywhere. You guys are awesome!!
You have no Idea how many times you have helped me install (and reinstall, due to n00b error) Dual sheath redux, xpm32. (and then the extended version) And now you've helped me with this. I love you, you modding hero!
this guy makes the best fucking skyrim mod tutorials by far soon as i heard his voice i gave it a like because i new it would be a detailed, simple and comprehensive tutorial
Thought my phone was playing Chopin in the background. You made me take off my headphones twice in peaceful confusion; listening for a few seconds each time. I was 10k subscriber eyyyy
Jesus Christ this was a good video!! I did a 100% run on Skyrim recently and hit the 3.1 wall with Helgen Reborn. The game became entirely unplayable. Thanks for walking me through the install. It worked wonders.
Thank you. Yourself and Gopher are both awesome. Your voices belong on an NPR show. Relaxing and soothing....like a cup of herbal tea while a nature cd plays in the background.
Thanks so much for explaining this. My brain is still frazzled by the process...but LESS frazzled. Am saving a copy of this video and backing it up with my favorite mods including the ENB stuff. Will def come in handy.
For a long time i was afraid that if i try to install any emb my game would end up cdt, but your vid made me do it and it's working perfectly (antique Dragon) Thanks a lot. Sub + like
+The Reasonable Extremist cheers, and something not mentioned in the video, you can use ENBoost and all the memory benefits without using ENB's visual changes/fps hit. In the enblocal.ini file, just set UsePatchSpeedHackWithoutGraphics to TRUE instead of false.
An absolutely wonderful explanation. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this extremely detailed and easy to follow tutorial. I appreciated you not only taking the time to slowly go through the steps, but also to explain why and how to do so. I learned quite a bit about my computer just by watching this too. Thank you very much!
Thanks a ton for this clear and comprehensible tutorial, Slothability. Is nice to listen to someone who seems to speak the same language as the common user, for a change... Cheers mate :)
+JimmyRJump Okay, did exactly what needed to be done, but now the game doesn't start. Getting a "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005)." error. My launcher goes through SKSE, by the way. I'm also using WryeBash. When starting the game through the latter, I get an initiation, but nothing happens at all. When launching the game through Nexus Mod Manager, I get the regular launch screen, but hitting "Play" results in the same error mentioned at the start of my reply. Any ideas?
seriously thank you so much for this youve really helped me out as youve helped others out you really deserve more attention as a youtuber as you make really easily understandable videos on subjects that are very complicated to a newbie like myself very easy to do, anyway thank you for your constant help and i wish you a more successful youtube career in the future :)
You are my hero! I've been looking for this information for days now. As important as this information, is you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a good detailed guide on it. This explained everything I was looking for. Thank you for being so thorough! P.S. the preset looks great!
Capt Honorpants Thanks and I understand how hard it is to find concrete information, let alone up-to-date information for ENB. The info is there but spread out all over from ENBdev forums, to the nexus, to various websites and videos. I aim to solve this problem with more ENB guides such as how to make lighting, weather, and misc changes to the ENB preset in game as well. Feel free to subscribe for more tutorials :).
Thank you so much! I was having a really hard time getting ENB to work on my machine, finding one simple guide to it, until I followed the link to your video from STEP. I noticed one minor error, if you wanted to add a box on it or something. 11:45-11:59 you say change FixAliasedTextures to false, but in the video, you don't change it. Great video!
Thank you for the help, this is by far the best tutorial ive seen for installing ENB and im subbing for it. finally my game will look less like a potato!!!
i've been using youtube for years and this is the first time i post a comment on a video: good work man. you're awesome. (sorry the english, i'm italian xD)
I've been using skyrim modding as a way to learn about graphics, scripting, and other game workings for a while now (and still know very little), but I shied away from ENB because I feared totally ruining my install through incompetence. Thanks for this video! My ENBoosted game looks great.
Tutorial Channels, take notes from this guy. This is how a real tutorial should be- Simple, Clear, HD, and WITHOUT STUPID ROYALTY FREE ELECTRONIC MUSIC.
At the beginnig i watched Zaric Zhakaron's video about EnBoost, but he didn't metion all those important tweaks You did in here. Thanks to You i can finally enjoy all of the graphics boosts from Enb, not only memory stuff.
Falcrist literally no difference in the big scheme of things (in terms of installation). ENB files go in the main Skyrim folder, no matter what. Real vision doesn't use the latest binaries however, which may be part of your issue.
It might have to do with the INI files. The RealVision installer seems to edit those automatically, and uses different values than the ones I calculated based on the formulae in this video. EDIT: Also, realvision uses ENBSeries v0.315, which does appear to be the latest binary.
I'm finally doing a heavily modded playthrough. Should be fun... I just have to decide whether to use Holds the City Overhaul or Expanded Towns and Cities before I start picking quest and faction overhauls. I also decided to use the hardcore setting in ELFX, and now I'm considering whether to go crazy and get a survival mod to make it an even harder game.
The best turorial I've found on ENBs so far. You did spell wrong on "bTreesRecieveShadows=" It's supposed to be, "bTreesReceiveShadows=". It might seem like a small error, but if that line is missing for someone, they could accidently write the wrong code. Overall good tutorial, just some constructive criticism. Cheers!
Ah nice catch, I've watched it a dozen times but never noticed. Luckily that line should never be missing since its in the original Skyrim ini by default I believe.
+MKC not necessary at all. ENB does not touch save games and is "compatible" (meaning it works with all mods but may not look right) with all mods. Instead, I recommend uninstalling just weather or lighting mods unless the mod author specifically states they look good with the preset.
