Alto is the last car in the segment where the aspirational first time buyers or who upgrades from two wheelers. So the competition for Alto is not other cars in any segment. This is the only car which a two wheeler customer or a first time car buyer thinks of. Alto is truly wheels of India. Still many people in country could not afford an car and Alto is that target dream. Congested cities like Mumbai , Bangalore or Kolkatta Alto is such a breeze to drive bumper to bumper and parking is never a issue for Alto owners. Senior citizen especially couples staying alone , offices in tight market or lanes , young drivers ( College going kids), women’s etc. Alto serves as a perfect partner for safe and comfortable transport for daily commute and protection from weather conditions all around the year. All these benefits are limited with two wheeler. Here is where Alto Shines.
I drive an Alto. If you live in village, go for it. It’s the most rugged car available at the lowest price possible. But Don't go for the top model. At 7 lakhs on road, you have too many options. Go for Citroen C3 or Tiago or Keiger. Those won't provide you mileage as much but your life is far precious
I’m still using the maruti 800 I brought back in 2007. Giving me 18 kmpl on highway at 80-90 km/h with the AC on. The car has never once let me down or given me problems.

@gearfliq I always loved your mileage test videos. Atleast Manual dimming irvm, rear power window, electronically adjustable orvm should be there in the top end variant. Rest no complaints in this car
@@sanjoysingharoy3287 manual dimming irvm (interior rear view mirror) can be adjusted manually which reduces the glare of light of vehicles coming from backside.
Good video, but I think that this video does not give the correct and complete picture. The USP of Maruti Alto is the convenience of handling the car in congested places, yet returning a reasonably good fuel efficiency. I do not see too many Alto cars on highways. Therefore, testing the fuel efficiency of Alto K10 AMT/AGS at a driving speed of 60-70 kmph does not give a real picture. I purchased my first Alto (LXi) in July 2009. In the earlier years, it used to return an efficiency of 18-19 kmpl in city driving (I stay in a small city, Jamshedpur, where fast driving is not possible). Recently, after 14 years and half, it was still giving around 14-15. I used this car mostly while going to extremely congested places like local markets. I used to put the car on 4th gear even at a speed of 25 kmph, and by 35 kmph I used to apply the 5th gear. Even while driving my DZire ZDi, I put it on 4th gear by 30 kmph and 5th by 40 kmph. It is a diesel car, so I am not going into comparison of fuel efficiency. Now, just two weeks back I said goodbye to my old Alto, and got a new K10 VXi+ AGS/AMT. It is now an amazingly improved version, but that is not what I would like to discuss here. This car shifts to 2nd gear not before attaining a speed of 13-14 kmph. Does not shift to 3rd gear before around 30 kmph. So, while serving its main purpose, that means, driving in congested places, the fuel efficiency is awful. It is even less than 10 kmpl. It is unbelievable that a car with 1000 cc engine runs on 2nd gear even at a speed of 25 kmph!! On manual mode also, the result is same. I had to just go for this model, because my wife needed an automatic version. Otherwise, I do not see any reason of buying Alto K10 AGS/AMT. My opinion is that no doubt this is an excellent car, but those who are comfortable with conventional manual handling of gear, should not opt for AGS/AMT version at all.

15kmpl se jyada nahi milta hai bhaiya k10 mai.. mera khud ka k10 AMT hai 5 years se chala raha hu 15 se 16 ka bich mai deta hai.. Suzuki hamesa dikhati zyada hai or deti kam 🙏
