In this video, Dr. Kamal Singh speaks about all the symptoms and signs of Parkinson's disease in Hindi. Parkinson’s disease is an age-related degenerative brain condition. It’s best known for causing slowed movements, tremors, balance problems and more. Most cases happen for unknown reasons, but some are inherited. The condition isn’t curable, but there are many different treatment options. Motor symptoms are those that affect movement and balance. There are four primary motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease:
1. tremor
2. rigidity
3. bradykinesia (slow movement)
4. postural instability (balance problems)

Additional motor symptoms can include blinking less often than usual, cramped or small handwriting (micrographia), drooling, mask-like facial expression, trouble swallowing (dysphagia), and unusually soft speaking voice (hypophonia).
Non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease include cognitive changes. It includes problems with thinking, word finding, language, focus, organization and judgment. Depression is fairly common non-motor symptom of Parkinson’s. 50% of the patients with PD will experience some sort of depression. It can range in severity and may improve with Parkinson’s disease treatment. 40% of the patients develop anxiety in PD. Symptoms of anxiety can include excessive fear and worry, uncontrollable or unwanted thoughts, sudden waves of terror, nightmares, ritualistic behaviors, problems sleeping, pounding heart, cold and sweaty hands, dizziness, and nausea. One of the important symptoms of PD is disturbances in the sense of smell. Double vision can often occur because the eye muscles have trouble working together. Dry eye due to decreased blinking is associated with PD and can cause blurry vision. Fatigue is common early in the course of PD, but can occur at any point. Constipation is seen commonly. Dizziness and vertigo are commonly reported symptoms in people with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Skin changes include oily, flaky, dry or inflamed Skin. Individuals with Parkinson’s disease may have an increased risk of melanoma, a serious type of skin cancer.
Parkinson’s disease pain is divided into five categories: Musculoskeletal, Neuropathic/radicular, Dystonic, Akathisia, Central Pain. Many patients of PD develop apathy which means a lack of interest, enthusiasm or motivation. Between 20-40% of people with Parkinson’s report the experience of hallucinations or delusions. Sleep problems are commonly experienced by these people. The inability to fall asleep, or primary insomnia, is less common than the inability to stay asleep. They can also experience excessive daytime sleepiness, talking or physically acting out while asleep, vivid dreaming, restless leg syndrome, or difficulty turning over in bed. Bone health changes may include frozen shoulder, flexed fingers, stooped posture, leaning sideways, scoliosis, osteoporosis and increased tendency of fractures of bones.
Micturition frequency, hesitancy and urgency are other possible symptoms. Loss of weight is a common symptom, particularly in the later stages of the illness.
