But the concept of worshipping murti is same. But the god is only one but he can transform herself im many forms that's why we worship forms of god not multiple god. I think that Dharma and religion are not opposites/completely separate. Religion also includes an ethical component that emphasises doing the right thing.

आदिकाल से युगों युगों से केवल एकमात्र धर्म है , वो है "वैदिक सनातन धर्म" अन्य जो भी है वे सब संप्रदाय- पंथ या मजहब है जो व्यक्ति विशेष द्वारा स्थापित है । - वेदों का प्रमाण
असल में प्राचीन काल में अनेक ऋषि थे। ऋषभदेव जी भी उनमें से एक है। भागवत में उनका जिक्र मिलता है। सभी ऋषियों की अपने विचार सिद्धांत व संहिता है, ग्रंथ है। उनकी शिष्य परम्परा में महावीर ने जैन संप्रदाय बनाया और उनकी शिक्षा को कहा । बाद में नेताओं ने इसको जैन करके अलग धर्म बना दिया। जैसे कि christian धर्म ईसा मसीह ने नहीं बनाया उनके शिष्यों ने बनाया।
