Thank you. Nothing significant or symbolic. Marutham part 1 was in full colour only, as you might remember. Just for a change only, we did Marutham part 2 in B&W. Next part of Marutham (final part) will be in colour as usual. Thanks for your kind and continued feedback !! 🙏
I think division of lands is not based on back to back landmasses. It is intermittent and scattered. Being from.Sankarankovil surrounding, I had visualized the western ghats as Kurinji that uncludes Puliyangudi, Sankarankovil surroundings up to Kovilpatti or Ettayapuram forms Mullai, Thoothukkudi is Neithal, Terikkadu near Sathankulam and certain pockets of Rananathapuram form Palai. My assumption is too sinple and wrong. The types of lands are unterleaved it seems.
Yes Yogesh. Tamilnadu (even as described in Sangam literature) is not exactly divided into four different contiguous lands (Kurinji, Mullai, Marutham and Neithal). They do overlap. And unlike the current concept of a vast country/state with a wide variety of land types, during Sangam times (and for a much later period too) the Tamil lands were ruled by numerous kings (kurunila mannargal). So except for a few kings (like the Vallal Pari for example, who is said to have ruled a vast land mass stretching from Sivaganga to Palghat), the others had been kings of very small geographical areas and most probably the lands under these kings would have fallen under only one of the four types. Long story short, yes your observation is correct. The lands are very much overlapping, with only Neithal having a bit of distinct contiguous land mass (as it has to be coastal).
