എത്ര വ്യക്തതയോടെയാണ് അടിയന്തിരാവസ്ഥ കാലത്തെ ചരിത്രം അങ്ങ് പറഞ്ഞു തന്നത്. നേരത്തെ ലോക ചരിത്രം പറഞ്ഞതും എല്ലാ എപ്പിസോഡും കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. പുതു തലമുറയ്ക്ക് അറിവ് പകർന്നു നൽകാൻ ഈശ്വരൻ അങ്ങേയ്ക്ക് ആയുരാരോഗ്യ സൗഖ്യം നൽകട്ടെ. 🙏

Normally i don't like to view a video of 15 minutes or more. But having started, it is almost impossible to break the session of Mr. Jaysankar eventhough it is of 38 minutes duration. What an oratory skill supplemented by unparalleled memory. Presentation is awesome. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful personality with us. Good going.

I was in Bombay during emergency. I had witnessed something very rare at that time, namely: Trains were running on time, The streets were cleans, There were no pickpockets, robberies, molestations etc. Women could walk without fear during nights, Govt offices provided quick services without asking for bribes, there were no crowd or commotions on the streets. The common man was enjoying the emergency. Who went to jail were those supported all India train strike and very few bold journalists (they were few as is now, others vowed). The whole country was on the verge of shutdown, and the govt had no alternative but to resort to this drastic measure.

Advocate, I feel you missed a couple of incidents. One is Allahabad High Court not accepting the main argument of Shanti Bhushan that cow and calf is a religious symbol. The other one is Baroda dynamite case in which George Fernandes was the main accused. The third one is the infamous argument of Niren De that during emergency, the police can even starve a detainee to death, still s/he cannot approach a court. While many High Courts stood by citizens, Hon Supreme Court endorsed all the actions of Mrs Gandhi.

There was slavery in many countries. Harijan ladies were not allowed to cover breast. Till very recently 'arabi marriages,' were common among muslims of Malabar where very young girls where given in marriage to very old Arabs for money who ended up as sex slaves in gulf....... uk
