I started using credit card recently.. Things i want the new users to be aware of 1 : don't withdraw the available credit from ATM machine ( high charge) 2 : always pay your dues without fail 3 : self control illathavr orikalum cc edukaruth. ( Vendathum vendathathum ayittulla kore items purchase chyruth ) 4 : pay your dues online , off-line due payment charges ond. If you have self control and good salary , credit card is a very good tool ( cash roll chyunna pole )

ഒരു MAD പ്രലോഭനം C card ബില്ലുകളിൽ കാണാറുണ്ട്. Minimum Amount Due എന്ന ഈ MAD നിശ്ചിത സമയത്തിനുള്ളിൽ അടച്ചാൽ fine, penalty തുടങ്ങിയവ മാത്രം ഒഴിവാക്കാം. പക്ഷേ പലിശ കൊടുക്കേണ്ടി വരും.

Buddy: 1.5% charges u mentioned which merchants charges for cards is wrong. Thats not the income for issuing bank but thats the income for acquiring bank and its called MDR

ഉപയോഗം പോലെ ഇരിക്കും. ഞാൻ monthly expenses മുഴുവൻ ക്രെഡിറ്റ് കാർഡ് ആണ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. സേവിങ്സ് തൊടില്ല. ഒടുവിൽ ക്രെഡിറ്റ് കാർഡ് സിംഗിൾ payment ചെയ്തു തീർക്കും. നാല് മാസം കൂടുമ്പോൾ reward പോയിൻ്റ് ക്യാഷ് redemption ചെയ്യും.expense budget മാറുന്നില്ല expense track ചെയ്യപ്പെടും.

വളരെ നല്ല വീഡിയോ അറിവില്ലായിരുന്ന പല കാര്യങ്ങളും മനസിലാക്കാൻ പറ്റി - വളരെ നന്ദി. എനിക്ക് എന്റെ SBI ക്രെഡിറ്റ് കാർഡിന്റെ KYC അപ്ഡേറ്റ് ചെയ്യാൻ പറ്റുന്നില്ല, കാർഡിന്റെ സൈറ്റിൽ കൂടി ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ ആദ്യം ആധാർ കാറിന്റെ QR കോഡ് സ്കാൻ ചെയ്യാൻ പറ്റുന്നില്ല, എന്നുപറഞ്ഞു റിജെക്ട് ചെയ്തു, ഒന്ന് രണ്ടു പ്രാവശ്യം വീണ്ടും ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ വീണ്ടും റിജെക്ട് ചെയ്തു, പിന്നീട് രജിസ്റ്റേർഡ് ഇ-മെയിലിലൂടെ ചെയ്യാൻ പറഞ്ഞതനുസരിച്ചൂ ചെയ്തു അപ്പോഴും റിജെക്ട് ചയ്തു. DigiLocker വഴി ചെയ്യാൻ പറഞ്ഞതനുസരിച്ചു ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ കാർഡിന്റെ സൈറ്റിലേക്ക് കണക്ട് ആകുന്നില്ല. അപ്ഡേറ്റ് ചെയ്യാൻ എന്തെങ്കിലും വഴിയുണ്ടോ?

It's good as long as you do not consider credit card as extra money in your pocket.. Financial descipline is needed to handle credit cards or else you will burn your hands.. And take it only if you need it, not because your bank markets it saying you are eligible for it..

One correction, if you are not paying the credit card bill fully, the interest is not calculated on the balance due, but it's calculated on the full due amount. This is the new policy usually followed by banks like HDFC. Eg: if you have a cc bill of 30k and you paid 25k before the due date. But bank will start calculating the interest on the total due which is 30k from the next day after the due date is met.

15:30 മന്ത്ലി ബിൽ മുഴുവൻ അടക്കാതെ ഇരുന്നാൽ ഇൻട്രസ്റ്റ് വരുന്നത് ടോട്ടൽ ബില്ലിനാണ് . ഈ ഉദാഹരണത്തിൽ 15000 ത്തിൽ 5000 അടച്ചാൽ ബാക്കി 10000 ന് അല്ലാ , ടോട്ടൽ ബിൽ ആയ 15000 വെച്ചാണ് ഇൻട്രസ്റ്റ് കണക്കാക്കുന്നത്.

Very well explained. Thanks. Recently I had to use cc to buy air tickets resulting in a huge amount due. Since I was traveling checked balance on line end of month and paid balance due found there. That month there was no email or sms from bank about balance due and payment date. On returning from travel after 20 days while trying to pay off balance I found that a fat amount had been charged as interest and penalty. I paid off immediately but took up the case relentlessly with the bank who initially agreed to compensate with part repayment but on insisting finally credited the extra amount charged to my cc balance. So be aware and be disciplined in paying back.
