@josethomas are you a doctor or just having shares in some big pharma company? Modern medicine is evidence based , but Ayurveda is experience based over hundreds of years. It's true that modern medicine is advancing in certain areas coz more studies and funds are there. Ayurveda still has its relevance but more studies nd reasearch should happen so that big pharma companies won't take patent for Ayurvedic related herbal medicine.

All this herbs has got exact measures and preparation methods. Modern medicine has its advantages as more studies are happening in that area. But it still focus on treating the symptoms rather than the root cause. Ayurveda try to address the root cause, improving immunity and it requires time and control over food, sleep, exercise etc. so people prefer popping a pill. Most pills has side effects. Eg: Diabetic tablets, More studies and focus should be given to Ayurveda also. Both medicine has its advantages & Disadvantages. To get some understanding about Ayurveda Google *Sushruta Samhita, Charaka Samhita, Ashtanga yoga*, etc Most of this so called intellectuals actually don't have an in-depth understanding before tarnishing something. Or some pharma loby might be funding them.

ayurveda is not shastram. It's not scientific. It's a premitive way that man could have dealt creating medicine. He didn't have the tools to check things under microscope, nor the theory of micro organisms or any chemistry or physics at that time. He did what he could. Science has moved much forward. If you want you can have 1 lakh chemicals from many plants whose side effects isn't documented and risk your life. Or you can have one molecule of paracetamol(REMEMBER 1 TYPE OF MOLECULE) whose effects have been correctly studied and found out what are the side effects. There is a strong reason why history is discussed. It's to make people understand that it's part of history and not today's science.
