If he was protected, he wouldn't have faced Usyk twice, fought Parker in the first place, or signed a two fight deal to fight Wilder.

The contract was supposedly signed by AJ and the announcement was going to be made in the ring that night, but Wilder lost. There was no point rematching Parker then, after losing to Joyce he had been fighting nobodies and just beat an aging Wilder, who is famously shit at boxing. The refereeing for AJvParker was not AJs fault, Parker should have adapted to the situation, but he did not. I hear this excuse all the time. AJ gets rematch clauses because his team puts it in the contract and the other fighter accepts. If they weren’t happy with the contract, then don’t sign it, but they always do. He’s also the bigger draw, therefore has more sway over negotiations. He won’t rematch Ruiz? He did rematch him. Yes, AJ did get TKOd by Ruiz, but he adapted and avenged his loss. Parker got busted up, demolished and KOd by a painfully slow 37 year old Joe Joyce and didn’t even attempt to avenge his loss. Turki wants AJ v Fury, that’s been made very clear.

Agree the first fight was boring Parker is a very different fighter now , I think it would be interesting, and we also had a ref that night that wouldn’t let them fight , kept jumping in and separating them, was a bit weird .
