LGB here. Pride is embarrassing now. It was a protest march. Not a fetishist’s delight! Back in the Eighties when I was clubbing, we listened and danced to the Punk, Neo-Romantic tunes. Queen, Boy George, Bronski Beat, Marilyn & Divine tunes,too name just a few. It was trendy to be gay back then. So many straight girls/ boys, identified as gay. No harm done. Trans is the current trend but if only the consequences were not so severe.

I grew up in the 80s, in a very large southern California city. Being gay was considered by some to be "trendy." That's not to say that there wasn't wide spread discrimination, hatred, and violence against the gay community. Both can be true at the same time. Looking back at my time in the clubs, it was a great time. People were learning then to embrace who they truly were, while some may have just been "following a trend," it certainly helped to make being gay, bisexual, or Trans more acceptable. Perhaps being in a fairly liberal, large city helped. The gay community fought hard for acceptance, while facing the scrutiny of the aids epidemic. Each of us has our own experience. I learned to never discount someone else's experience in the crazy journey we call life. Being hateful, calling for another person to not exist is insane to me. David Tennant's comment is out of line, regardless of any position they may hold. Our goal should be common ground. And least that's what I always remember the goal used to be

I am a gay man, born 1982, and have not had anything to do with Pride since the late 90s. For me, gay rights was about being free from persecution in my own country and having the same rights as any other tax paying citizen. And that was achieved a long time ago.

As an American Dr Who fan since age 9, i am absolutely horrified what happened to Tennant in this new "new" RTD version of 2024 Dr Who. Watching him get chastised for "misgendering" a fluffy alien in the 60th Dr Who specials was HARD to watch. This bullsh&t was the nail in the coffin for me with DT. As a psych clinician at one of the world's most prestigious psych research hospitals i know FULL WELL that this push of GD diagnosis on almost every 6yo kid is beyond tragic. Its freaking criminal. Because of my job, i see studies and the newest data that most will never see. That said, the WORST things i see are the dozens and dozens of studies and papers that have been debunked and withdrawn that these people still cite as "proof". Kemi Badenoch purposely withheld compensation for Post Office Employees here in the UK who courts had ruled had been lied to for over 20 years by the Post Office over a computer system glitch that was covered up resulting in Post Office Employees having huge debt put on to them. Some took their own lives over it. SO telling her to shut up is quite lenient in my eyes.

I have lost respect with him not as an actor but a human being. His opinions don't diminish his talent but they do as a person. I used to like him, but it's clear he has tunnel vision when it comes to the issue, and as a man who is married with a daughter it disturbs me that he is blind to the concerns that women have and what she or his wife might face. Women have a right to their feelings being respected, but the unreasonable trans rights brigade only seem to think it's their feelings that should be respected and acknowledged. Tennant has displayed a lack of sensitivity and respect, and he could potentially live to regret his words if anything were to happen to his wife or daughte rif those trans activists were to get their way.

As a fan of Doctor Who, I was a fan of his and while I acknowledge his talent as an actor he has proven to be a major disappointment as a person. I used to really like him as he struck me as a really nice guy but he's gone right down in my estimations.

I was introduced to David Tennant through the revival of Doctor Who - and I absolutely loved his take as the Doctor. It is now forever ruined. I can’t go back to watch it now because I can’t unsee and unhear that despicably ugly and wrongheaded speech. He’s got his millions so he doesn’t care if he tanks his career among his former fans. The amount of ego required to make that speech is mind blowing. What an ugly soul. I guess it’s only back to Classic Doctor Who for me.
