As another commenter said, as long as Biden doesn't present another candidate, she can stay in that position indefinitely under the title of "acting". It's a slippery, but legal move. The next question becomes why does Biden want her there so badly? Answer...she's a Marxist and her fellow Marxists, who really call the shots for Biden, say so.

She was confirmed as deputy and took over when the secretary left. This is a normal succession until a replacement is appointed. What should she do? Resign? Why hasn't the president appointed somebody. If she was rejected by the senate, it's his responsibility, not hers, to come up with another candidate.

You seem unclear on the role of the Senate in this process. The Senate is not responsible and doesn't have the ability to fill the role. The president nominates a person for the position, and the Senate confirms or denies that nomination. Biden has simply refused to accept the Senate's rejection of this nominee, made her "acting" secretary, and hasn't nominated anyone else.
