As a 15 year federal employee and a union member during that time, I can understand your frustration and I can certainly understand why you would want to do away with the unions. I myself hated the union we had, they took our money and did little in return. I rarely supported my union. When we should have gotten their support, nothing and than I would see them do things that forced me to work with idiots. I am not sure if unions should be completely disbanded. I think there is another solution to allow some form of collective bargaining representation to be available and still work well with that organization. My largest issue with being a federal employee was the actions of my superiors, actions that in most cases in the private sector would have gotten them fired or worse. The lack of consequences. Our agencies lack that.

Don't bother with responses linger than a sentence. They rarely get read. People just want to complain. Not listen.

In some respects if you can do your job from home you should be allowed to, it cuts down traffic and emissions. Having said that they still need to put in the full hours and only take the allotted breaks as you would as if you are in your office. All people paid by the taxpayers need to be in work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week!

@@TwoBassed I ageee, I have worked from home for 12 years or more for a private company. I would not be here if I didn't do my job. They have laid off thousands of employees over the years and it was largely based on performance.

As a 15 year US Federal Employee I can this. I have seen many great co-workers get fired unjustly for some of the strangest reasons. I have seen far more superiors continue to keep their jobs, get promoted despite the reality that mostly if they were employed by a private company, they would have been fired and maybe brought up on charges. Oh and the unions really do not offer much protection. I was a member of a union while employed by the government, they did little to nothing. Basically I paid them for nothing. The unions in many cases are a "scape goat", but there are other cases where the unions can cause problems, but you have to remember, the unions really only support the lowest level of a workforce. In my experience it is management that causes the greatest effect on the performance of an employee.
