It coming at night is so frightening and had it come during the day I wonder if there would have been less loss of life. I hate nighttime tornado warnings, it freaks me right out and I don't live in tornado alley (Virginia). My prayers are for these towns and their people. Hard to celebrate Christmas this year knowing how so many are hurting and in need.

My prayers for all the people in Kentucky and condolences to all the family members who lost love ones in this horrible disaster. I am especially thinking of the father who lost his baby girl and the young woman who lost everything . They're especially in my prayers because I really felt their pain and was crying when heard of happened to them.

So their gods other than Allah, whom they invoked, profited them naught when there came the Command of your Lord, nor did they (false deities) add aught to them except destruction. وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَا أَخَذَ الْقُرَىٰ وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ ۚ إِنَّ أَخْذَهُ أَلِيمٌ شَدِيدٌ Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the (population of) the towns while they are doing wrong (polytheism). Verily, His Seizure is painful, (and) severe. [Hud 11:101-102] وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهْلِكَ الْقُرَىٰ بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا مُصْلِحُونَ And your Lord would never destroy the towns wrongfully, while their people were right-doers. [Hud 11:116] فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَقَالُوا مَنْ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةً ۖ أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُمْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً ۖ وَكَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ They were arrogant in the land without right, and they said: "Who is mightier than us in strength?" See they not that Allah who created them was Mightier in Strength than them? And they used to deny Our Ayat (Signs)! [Fussilat 41:15] وَيُنذِرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ وَلَدًا And to warn those who say: "Allah has begotten a son (or offspring or children)." مَّا لَهُم بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ وَلَا لِآبَائِهِمْ ۚ كَبُرَتْ كَلِمَةً تَخْرُجُ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ ۚ إِن يَقُولُونَ إِلَّا كَذِبًا No knowledge have they of such a thing, nor had their fathers. Mighty (in disbelief) is the word that comes out of their mouths. They utter nothing but a lie. [Al-Kahf 18:4-5] فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي أَيَّامٍ نَّحِسَاتٍ لِّنُذِيقَهُمْ عَذَابَ الْخِزْيِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَخْزَىٰ ۖ وَهُمْ لَا يُنصَرُونَ So We sent upon them a furious wind in days of evil omen (for them) that We might give them a taste of disgracing torment in this present worldly life. But surely the torment of the Hereafter will be more disgracing, and they will never be helped. [Fussilat 41:16] أَمْ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِي السَّمَاءِ أَن يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ كَيْفَ نَذِيرِ Or do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allah), will not send against you a violent whirlwind? Then you shall know how (terrible) has been My Warning. [Al-Mulk 67:17] إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُّسْتَمِرٍّ Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity. تَنزِعُ النَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُّنقَعِرٍ Plucking out men as if they were uprooted stems of date-palms. فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings. [Al-Qamar 54:19-21] فَلَوْلَا إِذْ جَاءَهُم بَأْسُنَا تَضَرَّعُوا وَلَـٰكِن قَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ So when Our Torment reached them, why then did they not humble themselves (believe with humility)? But their hearts became hardened, and Shaytan made fair-seeming unto them that which they used to do. [Al-An'aam 6:43]
Allah سبحانه وتعالى said, وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوا مَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ قَالُوا بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا ۚ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ And when it is said to them: "Follow that which Allah has sent down", they say: "Nay, we shall follow that which we found our fathers (following)." (Would they do so) even if Shaytan invites them to the torment of the blazing Fire? [Luqmaan 31:21] إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا آبَاءَهُمْ ضَالِّينَ Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; فَهُمْ عَلَىٰ آثَارِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ So they (too) hastened in their footsteps! وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ And indeed most of the ancients went astray before them (similarly), وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); [As-Saaffat 37:69-72] فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَرِحُوا بِمَا عِندَهُم مِّنَ الْعِلْمِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ Then when their Messengers came to them with clear proofs, they were glad (and proud) with that which they had of the knowledge (of worldly things). And that which they used to mock at, surrounded them (i.e. the punishment). [Ghaafir 40:83] قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكُم بِأَهْدَىٰ مِمَّا وَجَدتُّمْ عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا إِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ كَافِرُونَ (The warner) said: "Even if I bring you better guidance than that which you found your fathers following?" They said: "Verily, we are of that with which you have been sent, disbelievers." [Az-Zukhruf 43:24] وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِرُسُلِهِمْ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِنَا أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِي مِلَّتِنَا ۖ فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ لَنُهْلِكَنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ And those who disbelieved said to their Messengers: "Verily, we shall drive you out of our land, or you shall return to our Millah (way of life, religion)." So their Lord revealed to them: "Verily, We shall destroy the polytheist wrong-doers." [Ibraheem 14:13] وَمَا مَنَعَ النَّاسَ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا إِذْ جَاءَهُمُ الْهُدَىٰ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّهُمْ إِلَّا أَن تَأْتِيَهُمْ سُنَّةُ الْأَوَّلِينَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ قُبُلًا And nothing prevents men from believing, (now) when the guidance (the Qur'an) has come to them, and from asking Forgiveness of their Lord, except that the ways of the ancients be repeated with them, or the torment be brought to them face to face. [Al-Kahf 18:55] أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أُولَـٰئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُم بَرَاءَةٌ فِي الزُّبُرِ Are your disbelievers better than these [ancients that We destroyed]? Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures? [Al-Qamar 54:43] وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ And indeed, We have destroyed your likes; then is there anyone that will remember (or receive admonition)? [Al-Qamar 54:51] وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَاثًا وَرِئْيًا And how many a generation (past nations) have We destroyed before them, who were better in wealth, goods and outward appearance? [Maryam 19:74] أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَانُوا أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةً وَآثَارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَمَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ Have they not travelled through the earth and seen what was the end of those before them? They were more in number than them and mightier in strength, and in the traces (they left behind) in the land; yet all that they used to earn availed them not. [Ghaafir 40:82] كَذَٰلِكَ الْعَذَابُ ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ Such is the punishment (in this life), but verily, the punishment of the Hereafter is greater if they but knew. [Al-Qalam 68:33] وَأُمَمٌ سَنُمَتِّعُهُمْ ثُمَّ يَمَسُّهُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ And (there will be other) people to whom We shall grant their pleasures (for a time), but in the end a painful torment will reach them from Us. [Hud 11:48]
