Most inconsistent community I have ever seen. You asked for this…you turned on your police force. Instead of allowing individuals to be held accountable you want an entire department to change every time somebody does something stupid. Welcome to reality…no organization on this planet is perfect not the Marine Corps, FBI, CIA, you name it they’re all flawed. I love and support my police, because they stop my city from turning into Memphis. A few bad apples is NEVER going to change that.

It's been about 15 years since I exited the interstate. You can get great BBQ almost anywhere nowadays. I find Q and gas im Little Rock then head north. I can't risk becoming a news story.

I hate when he says “there’s a small amount of people committing all the crime”. Stop trying to minimize the situation with this statement or even the “it’s not just Memphis- it’s everywhere”. We don’t care about everywhere, we live here! As far as the small percentage, what percentage of Memphis do you actually feel safe in? We have entire zip codes that are no-go zones. We have someone murdered every single day, 10,000 carjackings a year. The real question is, what percentage of Memphis is effective by nonsense culture?
We need a Mayor like the Texas governor. Protest all you want…it will never stop my officers from doing their jobs. Look at what this city has become because of the so call “activist”, and domestic terrorist wanting criminals to get off.
And allow some help, there are many who want to, but the lack of sharing, approval of application s for financial capital to implement a help of change is 1 of our biggest delimmas as well as some that don't care just getting paid. What have you done Paul Young talking to others is not solving crime. And y’all hire your friends and peers. You want to place these young folks in positions and pay entry level wages. Pay seasoned professionals to take on these positions and perhaps you’ll see people performing their job.

I have so many videos of the poor condition of the inner city, yet my taxes for the city & county continue to rise. Needless to say my attention was focused on my daughter who is in the Navy and my son who has obtained 2 trades now its back to the community because my work is done there but I'm available when they need me 😌 Now What?
I voted for Herenton. I know he’s OLD but Young ain’t gonna get it!! I don’t entire blame the “leadership” in Memphis because you can’t control what these nutcases out here do. What’s prison gonna do to these monsters? That’s not a huge deterrent to crime. I think DISRESPECT is a huge problem in general. How many disrespectful people do you encounter in a day but you chill out cause you think it ain’t worth it if you did or said what you really wanted to say to somebody? Some people don’t play that mess and you’ll see how it play out on the news. I think people need to respect each other. I think that would be helpful. Desperation is a big part of crime too and these rising costs aren’t helping either. If you’re not giving me a better product or something that will give me the ability to climb tall buildings then STOP raising prices on stuff!! It’s all a bunch of BS but I guess that’s a personal gripe. The kids are bored and they gravitate towards anything gangsta so if they become rappers one day, they can say they lived what they rap about. Vicious cycle.
If you want an excellent city, you require excellent people. If you want law and order, you require law abiding citizens. If you want a nice city, you need to fill it up with responsible taxpaying two parent families. Memphis? People talk about how bad it is because they know can do nothing about it.
