Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) weighs in on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's invitation to Congress as the ICC seeks a warrant for his arrest. #CNN #News
@@michaeleldridge5640 The Rome Statute was signed by the large majority of the countries in the world (a total of 124), and it is binding. The US is almost exclusively, the only country from "western civilization" that is not signatory of the Rome Statute and not recognizing the ICC. Cry more.
If Netanyahu is being treated like a king in the US and delivering a speech in Congress then the US has absolutely no right to call out Putin a war criminal
Putin bring kids from front line to safe place then ICC call him criminal war, Netanyahu kill kids and women, US and westerners call him kill terrorists... Good job, hypocrisy westerns
Why are we sending $3.8 BILLION in US taxpayer money to these genocidal sociopaths. That money can be better served helping Americans in America - we need to send a message when the voting polls open.

That's official US State Department policy. Read the Tillerson memo. The US uses human rights as a weapon against our enemies, not our friends. No joke, they actually said it in writing.
Yes, you are referring to Hamas and most Palestinians (radicalized Islam), they treat non-believers of Islam as animals. Did you hear them calling Jews dogs? Are you a Muslim? If not you are not far from a dog to them. F00ls are f00ls because they had been f00led!

The interviewer keeps trying to justify Israel's actions, which Bernie is objecting to. He is saying tens of thousands of women and children, and the woman says, "Did you see what happened to the Israeli soldier?" Is she interviewing? What is that?
Don't bother disrupting the lives of Washington people! I only fear he will come here to escape his arrest! The US is insane, and I believe their president needs a full cognitive assessment. Sad, there seems to be no one else to vote for in that country who is logical and moral.
@@teamginger9134did you listen to when Bernie said multiple times that Israel has the right to defend itself or did you purposefully ignore that part ?
The “Leahy Law” is a U.S. human rights law named for its primary sponsor, Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.). First approved by Congress in 1997, it prohibits the United States from providing equipment and training to a foreign military unit or individual suspected of committing “gross human rights violations.” Such violations include extrajudicial killing, rape, torture, and forced disappearances.
As Netanyahu gives his speech, there will be 10s of thousands on the mall and in front of congress demonstrating, not a good optic for Israel … Bernie is a national treasure.
Neanyahu is a God given treasure. Bernie is a typical democrat free loader who's lived off the government almost as much as antipresident Biden, who's never had a private sector job.
Sanders is more courageous and honest than I ever imagined. What a mistake this country made not electing him president in 2016. I'm one of the ones to blame for that mishap. And he's right. There's no false equivalence. Hamas leader is far worse. That doesn't excuse Netanyahoo
I would simply say check the body count for the rag-tag Hamas dip-shit leader, and check the body count for Benjamin Netanyahu- just over the last 6 months. A leader of a country that the US funds and supports and gives diplomatic cover to. Israel has killed ten times more civilians AT THE LEAST and probably if we had an accurate count twenty times more civilians. The real death count is easily in the 100,000 range but Israel has killed all of the record keepers to hide the actual count so it's been stuck at 30k for the last month. Israel is *objectively* without a doubt the worse person in this comparison. They've killed eons more people. This doesn't even include disabled, maimed, and people who are currently literally starving to death. Israel is trying to eliminate every single person in Palestine regardless of age or status. As long as they are brown and dark skinned, they are targets of the Israeli government. 30 years from now when we look back in history, the official death count from Israel's ethnic cleansing of Palestinians the last 6 months will easily be in the multiple hundred thousand range, and if they have their way, it will be in the million range. And the people that continued to fund and support this will be seen as only a *bit* less horrific than Hitler or Pol-Pot or Mao were. History will look at the entire West poorly. Just like it always eventually happens.
I hope a million people show up to Protest. But I’m sure they’re going to deny the American public from knowing the exact date of the visit because they know we’re coming, and want to thin the numbers that would show if they let us know the date in advance
Indeed. He shows a lot of control and awareness during discussions. I wonder if he was in office as the President, if that would affect him negatively or would he be able to keep the same standard
As a Norwegian, it is crazy how Bernie is the few voices of reason in US politics. I cross my fingers that things will get better when you get money out of politics
The problem is, the only people who have the power to actually establish laws that would effectively get money out of politics are the same people who benefit from this corruption. It frightens me, but I don't see us ever taking serious steps to ban politicians from the myriad ways they sell out voters as well as every other human on this planet without either being invaded or by an outright revolution. We are in very, very dark times, here. And there's nothing at all on the horizon to give any of us real hope of a better future.
@@constancetorseth6648 to get money out of politics you need a widespread popular uprising. the American revolution hasn't happened yet, but it's coming. the old guard will not let go of power without being forced to.
I’d urge you to do some deeper diving into American politics because there are significant details about this war that Mr. Sanders here is disregarding such as Hamas’s involvement in these casualties as well as Palestine’s responses to Israel’s warnings. There are plenty of other politicians whose cognitive abilities and understanding of current events surpass Sander’s, but don’t take my word for it. Do some more research 🤙
@@ninjarex7315 How about taking in mind the apartheid regimen enforced in Palestinians as well as more than 70 years of illegal occupation, and massacres. Why don’t you dive deeper into the root cause of this instead of asking people to do so. Review the history before the establishment of this Zionist state. How did it arise ? Even watch the documentary called “Tantura” from the mouth of early Israeli soldiers.
Inviting Netanyahu to address Congress is a terrible idea for several reasons. First, it sends a problematic message to the international community by appearing to endorse his actions, which many have condemned as potential war crimes. This is not about being anti-Israel or antisemitic; it’s about holding leaders accountable for their actions. Criticizing Netanyahu and the Israeli government's actions does not equate to antisemitism; it is about standing against human rights violations and advocating for justice and peace. Bernie Sanders has consistently shown courage and integrity in his stance on this issue. He rightly calls out the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the disproportionate use of force that has led to the suffering of countless civilians. Bernie’s commitment to human rights and his unwavering principles make him a true leader in these challenging times. We need more voices like his in Congress, not more platforms for those who perpetuate violence and disregard international law.
Why is it Israel's problem thee's a humanitarian crisis? Thee's no government there and no infrastructure. Why must Israel bail out the civilians while they are prosecuting a war. I've never heard of a war whee one side is supposed to give aid to civilians. But, Israel is helping anyway. It's ridiculous, and it's just another reason why Hamas must be killed off. Netanyahu is appropriate to invite to Congress. He's not committing war crimes. Just because some people think so doesn't mean anything. People think a lot of things. The ICC prosecutor doesn't even know what a war crime is. All these protesters are insane talking about "genocide." Israel has never targeted civilians. And, yes, those inflammatory criticisms are anti-Semitic. To the core.
Thank you Sir! You are a great human being with conscience! If there were people like you in the government the world would have been a great place to live in! Thank you!
Sick of hearing Israel having rights to defend itself... defend against what when it's the aggressor and occupier for over 75 years? Read the laws on armed resistence against occupation...
I think they've been Iosing it steadily for years. It's a known fact that the US' ememies - like China, Russia, Iran etc. - are leagues ahead of them in terms of integrity and honesty. And none of those aforementioned countries are innocent; they're just no-where near as awfuI as the coIoniaI entity we know as the US.
And China, Rusia and lran have only gained respect from the international community - and rightly so! They've been aganst this gnoclde and coIoniaIism from the start - especially lran. Even if they're not lnnocent themselves, they have a level of integrity that the US certainly lacks. Respect to them for that.

I wonder what he or US do if they are in israel position ...day and night bombing plus their people became hostages lastly threatening your race existence....
Sanders would have Israel surrender to terrorists, he would have the USA surrender after 9/11. He would surrender after pearl harbour. That's hardly reasonable.
The US avoided signing up to the ICC for just such a circumstance. It wants to be the sole arbiter of morality and conscience in the world. Well, I'm afraid it doesn't work like that any more. Netanyahu's visit will seal America's isolation and draw contempt around the world.
Using Hunger as a weapon is a war crime and we need to send a message that no matter who you are and where you come from the rule of law will and shall be upheld.
Just remember trans, it's the democrat party that kept Sanders from being President, maybe a good thing except that Biden is far worse than Sanders would have been as president.
Israel bombed the third oldest church in the world (Gaza Greek Orthodox Church), civilian convoys, Rafah crossing, refugee camps etc. Israel used white phosphorus in civilian areas.
The church of Saint Porphyrius dates from the fifth century and had been restored by the Crusaders. And it is precisely this church that the Zionist Army targeted first. A whole symbol...

The ICC prosecutor is incompetent and can't articulate what a war crime is. He says if a baby dies in a war zone, then it's a war crime. He's insane and anti-Semitic and incompetent all rolled into one.
No. Netanyahu can stay out of America. Stay home and clean up your mess. Sign a cease fire. Find the hostages. Get aid to the sick and wounded. Do not come begging for money to continue atrocities and human suffering. No. No. No.
