the disease lukmia has actually made he change completely, even lose weight,I think, this has affected his performance greatly ,I can now see why he couldn't sustain Cody's onslaught, the reason why he relied on support from his bloodline bros, eventually he had to let go
And he competed a lot more than that just not on TV, (that’s the character he was playing) He did a lot of dark matches, when he was at SmackDown just to talk he had matches after the tapings.
A man. That goes through barricades, jumps, falls, takes kicks, does a physically hard job. Still never misses a beat. Dude carried the company on his back for 4 years, while enduring through the pain. Still works out. Still keeps in shape. Those who say that he's not the best. Most of them call off work for a mild fever. I have the utmost respect for Roman and more so for Joe. The man behind Our tribal chief Roman Reigns is the best. Period. He will always be the best
Everyone knows its not breaking character everyone who watches wwe knows about his health issues i think it was more of he wasnt expecting the question which is 100% fair he may ahve thaught a question about the match and all this stuff but still everyone should respect him for being able to preform on the meds and still be a top preformer
Actually he did break character to answer this question honestly. Because this whole press conference he and Paul were playing their characters. "Being very serious" So yeah only this question he broke character and he has grown in his character and better skills on the mike now than previously. Massive respect 🙌
It was a break of Character. Leukemia is not of the Tribal Chief. It's of Joseph Anoi'i. Though he is Roman Reigns, he is him in character. Tribal Chief has never mentioned the current battle of Leukemia. Leati Anoi'i does.
I lost my father to leukemia. Just seeing half of what Roman does while in a constant battle with that bastard disease is wonderful to see and I hope someday he and everyone else suffering from it gets a cure.
Treatment and medication mean nothing if the body cant handle it like that. Luckily he is able to smfh. Stand in his shoes an repeat that statement 😒@albania329
@@Vinnie-Tee thank you i just ignore his ass, honesty people like him dont understand shit unless it happens to them and when it does they cry and give up instantly. The fact that roman is battling that and doing wresling still show how much he can do and take care of without giving up. There for he is him. I would like to see @albania329 getting a disease and doing a sport at the same time without giving up. Mans probly all day on a computer or xbox or psn playinh games
My mother went through oral chemo and the fact that this dude did all of this on those meds… he truly is the GOAT. No one in history is better than Roman.
On Dec 11, 2009 at 4:25 pm I lost my father to long battle with lung cancer. He went flatlined right in front of me and my mother because of heart failure. I’ll be praying for Roman Reigns!
@@shhh885 Well that and wrestlers most of the time do not HEAR what the commentators are saying. So he probably had no idea that Pat McAfee even said that.
Nothing but respect. This guy is battling a detrimental disease that offs thousands and he goes through some battles in the ring. He has wrestling in his blood and is a role model for many young men. I acknowledge my Tribal Chief ¹¹¹¹
Joe was diagnosed at 21. He's been battling leukemia now for 16 years. It's in remission but he still has to take oral treatments so it stays in remission. He went to a reduced schedule so he could spend as much time with his wife and kids as he can.
I was on oral chemotherapy, now stomach injections, but for autoimmune issues, rather than cancer like Roman has. He makes it sound easy, but that chemotherapy itself is a very tough battle, and falling off the wagon for even a single day can make it very difficult to get back in good health. I have so much respect for his run and especially his performance this weekend. Thank you Roman, your return and run in 2020 gave me so much inspiration to get through this, as my main autoimmune disease, rheumatoid arthritis, was diagnosed on August 26th 2020, so it coincided with a lot of his run. I'm in the best health of my life now, in a prestigious college; but nowhere near as well off or healthy as Roman haha. But his run inspired me so much to improve my health and take confidence in my journey, and as unlikely as it is, I'd give anything to be able to thank him for it in person one day.
Frock ya man. Glad you’re doing better. And congrats about the college. Glad you’re making life the best as can be with the cards you were dealt. A lot of people would just kind of give up.
He was floored with that question in the actual conference. I couldn’t imagine going through that; massive kudos to even getting out of bed and keeping on.☝🏾
I love that you can see his immediate shock to that question and immediately after that shock he goes from the Tribal Chief to his true self and answers the question head on without blinking. Hopefully the medication continues to work and he remains in remission.
My father passed at 44 from Leukemia, i was 14 at the time. It is a horrible disease but i have found that the vast majority of people that have it and are affected by it are so strong and just get on with it. They don't let it rule their lives, just like my Dad did. He has my massive respect. I wish him well.
My ex has the same type of leukemia and she takes daily medication just like roman. I know what she deals with and she works a desk job. Best wishes for continued healing.
I like how he drops the Roman Reigns character and talks as Joe during these. The first time he announced his condition he talked as Joe and now he's also talking as Joe just updating people about his condition. Good stuff
Roman is one of the greatest to ever do it and to be champion. He is fighting an illness still performs to the highest ability it's insane truly an inspirational guy.
He's said it multiple times that he's on medication and will need to be for the rest of his life. I'm not sure what that Paul look was, but it really could have been any number of things. It's a break character moment.
I have massive respect for Roman, I've seen him countless times live. He does not skip a beat, I was live at WrestleMania last year. So no one has an excuse, not to better themselves and Roman, is a prime example of that.
God I love this man for his candor and ability to switch his persona on and off with things of this nature. To show that he is human and not above us. Someone we can relate to.
People need to truly respect Roman for what he’s done for this company and continues to do for this company and us fans. I think people don’t truly understand how much pain Roman deals with everyday just from this disease then to get inside the ring and put his body through even more punishment to entertain us fans it is just incredible that Roman is able to still be as athletic as he is right now and we fans should really just sit back and respect, enjoy and fill gratitude and grateful to be able to watch Roman while he is still able to what he loves because he could wake up on any given day or time and have to retire from wrestling due to his disease. So thank you Roman for the greatest story line and Title run we have ever witnessed and all us fans can’t wait to see what You, Paul and Triple H have planned for the next chapter in the Bloodline Saga…
We do. We're all in on the fun, nobody hates Roman. The Raw after Mania had the crowd chanting "Thank You Roman". So by no means are we ungrateful for everything Roman did.
@@bullworthless I know we’re all enjoying the fun and we are here for the ride as the WWE now under the helm of Triple H enters into a new era of Wrestling and finally getting away and out from that PG era that could have made them go under but luckily for the WWE, Tony Khan and AEW are so bad at the business that they still made the WWE look good even when it wasn’t not even a little. But, Like I said earlier with Triple H in control he clearly has a vision of where he wants to take this company and it shows because it has been moving ass lately and they are getting that attitude back along with some great story lines etc. Triple H and The Rock leading WWE back out of the stratosphere to even bigger heights they have never been before and this Netflix deal with WWE RAW is history in the making and I can not wait until they start the WWE Raw on Netflix and to see just how much attitude and free speech they will give to the wrestlers since they will be on a steaming site that isn’t held back and governed by Censors and having to bleep out cuss words etc.’..
Cancer sucks. Lost 5 people in my immediate family to it (mother, both grandfathers, grandmother, uncle. Keep fighting the good fight Tribal Chief! We are here for you!
I have a lot of respect for my brotha after watching this short. I pray for complete healing and thank you for performing in the wrestling business and I pray that God continues to bless you physically mentally and spiritually. Love and respect brother.
At this point if the haters don't realize his passion and love for this business, then here you are. He's in better shape than half the roster and still performs and fills seats. I acknowledge you my tribal Chief
its good fans recognize there is the character and there is the man behind that character and chanted thank you roman on raw. i'm glad he dropped the bit for a second to answer it , he didn't have to answer the question , but i'm sure he wanted to clear the air on the topic.
@@PhillipP93I’m not surprised because when he announced way before it doesn’t go away just like that it’s a cancer cell that will stay no matter what. It’s actually the main reason why he’s part time because treatment, if you noticed in matches he get tired or needs others to help carry him yeah not just a act most of the time it can be limiting to how you perform every day things
@@leardscottjr5399yeah and tbh I prefer his matches over anyone else in the roster. The slower than usual place where you actually get to see the wrestler's facial expression and emotions and tell a story with their body language. The moves feel like they mean a lot more rather than watching a gymnastics class feels a bit more realistic. Oh and his trash talking during matches is top tier. So yeah him getting tired due to illness and having to wrestle at a slower pace feels like a blessing in disguise when it comes to performance. P.s: not a criticism to your comment. But just agreeing and building on it
I think Pat did him solid, actually. A lot of fans blur the lines and forget what is actually happening is a scripted play that these men and women put everything into. The company asks the champ to carry them into people's living rooms and make money. If he doest make money he won't be champ for long l, let alone for nearly 4 yrs. Reigns did his part with cancer hanging over his head the whole time. That deserves everybody's respect in that locker room and in those arenas.
I acknowledge you! And thank you. Appreciate all the joy you fight to bring to our world my friend. Massive respect and prayers for your continued remission and success.
God Bless you Roman ❤ I pray God touchs you and heals you 🙏 I appreciate all you do for us while your going through so much 😢 much love and respect brother 🫡🙏🙌💪
People calling him “part-time” have to rethink their own lives. He’s in better shape than most of us, and puts his physical body on the line as a job. Plus he achieved the greatest accomplishment in sports entertainment for over 1300 days.
In sports entertainment today in this generation…just wanted to add that since it’s not really an all time accomplishment, you have top names in the top 2 positions, but more of a modern day greatest accomplishment. They should’ve had him hold the championships longer so he can get that #1 position but sadly it didn’t happen there won’t be another champion like that around for a while to contest that reign
After his defeat at wrestlemania we started to know everything for Roman one of it is his health struggle which is why he becomes part timer and his spoilers that when he loss he will quit maybe he wants to wind up and to heal looking for his health and struggles Roman is really a Superman fighting in the ring while battling cancer in real life He is the one ☝️
That’s why I’ll never call him a part time champion. Man carried an entire company on his back while fighting friggin’ leukemia. And he gave damn great performances and told a geeat story at the same time. All respect goes to Roman, and I hope he can take some time to rest and live it up for a while. ☝️
