I saw Nkeki as the alternate back in Jan 2020 (pre-shutdown) and she was excellent. “Tina” is probably one of the hardest bio musical roles I’ve seen performed based on the sheer vocal and physical stamina required.

I’m like thinking of the movie and Tina. It was different. On a higher energy if you will. The singing was better then She doesn’t look 👀 like Tina. Sorry I said it. But if Tina approved then we will just have to go with it. I hope she had input. I’m sure the play will be good 😊.

Adrienne's performance is closer to the original but this is a tough musical to do. Props to Nkeki. I think she did a good job.

@@cherisej7829 She wasn't "spectacular" and I wouldn't base talent on someone getting an award because there are plenty of talented people who get snubbed at award shows all the time. Chanel not only sounded like Tina but her performance topped that other girls and was better 100%.

She looks like Tina when younger and reminds of Angela Bassett , and she is good but Adrienne Warren is much closer in voice and performance. She was chosen by Tina after all.
