It’s beyond the coach. USSF is a day spa service for the Men’s National Team. It’s absolutely coddling, no accountability whatsoever. Professional skateboarding has more accountability and grit than usmnt.
USSF holds no one accountable. It's free lunches all around. Eat someone else's catch, win a Special Olympics medal and pretend its the real thing, and get lauded for it is the way their counterparts live.
This is spot on - they're soft. You can see the body language even at the tunnel at Halftime. If you watched how Turkey played against Austria in the Euro Cup yesterday ... Turkey were inspired, attacking with pace, & hungry. US just play fundamental that is too structured, they need to have that fire to take teams on directly
I've been clamoring for his firing for 3 years. Get him OUT. Which means the USSF will retain him because the USSF have their heads so far up their @$$ that they have zero connection to the fans
Watch the highlights of Turkiye/Austria. At the end, the Turks were clinging to a one goal lead with Austria going all-out to score. When the final whistle blew, most of the winning Turkish side immediately collapsed, chests heaving, in exhaustion/oxygen debt. Did we see anything like that from Berhalter’s group? Ever?
Türkiye had an elite mentality. They defended like their lives depend on it despite the ongoing attack from Austria and pouring rain. The USMNT do not have this mentality and Berhalter is enabling these players to be entitled losers. As an American, it was embarrassing to watch and we will never be taken seriously if we keep this loser mentality. And boy, we need some massive change....
Yes, and the first thing Berhalter should have emphasized before the Panama match..."they're gonna try to wind you up, throw you off your game + get you to retaliate (yellow/red card.) DON'T FALL FOR IT," full stop. Was that too complicated?
I think the disaster began over a year ago. A loss to Trinidad and Tobago. Losing badly to Germany. Almost losing to Jamaicas B-team. Getting crushed by Columbia. Panama wasn’t an anomaly. This team cannot beat a top-20 team, but on any given day it can lose to almost any team.
@@will27ns And why do you think that was not the focus of pre-game talks? Plenty of things to critique and reasons to change the coach. You don't know any of them.
Usa isnt a football nation they haven't win anything and no I don't consider womens football trophies to he equal to elite mens teams it's just nit the same I enjoy womens football but the oldest and most prestigious and difficult is mens football
It's crucial that the Members of the USSF Board undergo a thorough evaluation. The problems start from the top, and we currently have ineffective leadership and no ambitious, visionary plan. Additionally, are there limitations on what we can pay the men's coach? Is it true that we can't offer a competitive salary for a top-tier manager because the men's coach cannot earn more than the women's coach, even though these are entirely different markets? • Cindy Parlow Cone • Nathán Goldberg Crenier • JT Batson • John Collins • Lisa Carnoy • Fritz Marth • John Motta • Carlos Cordeiro • Don Garber These board members are responsible for guiding the strategic direction and governance of U.S. Soccer. Changes need to be made and the noise needs to continue until something meaningful happens.
It’s because he is a loser!! He’s never been a winner at any of the levels he’s coached!! And USSF suddenly expects things to be different with the national team? His mentality has obviously seeped into the players.
Remember, the USSF media promoted this apathetic mediocre federation. When they had chances to vote people that would actually hold things to a higher standard, they voted for people to protect MLS's image. Just remember that. These media people bashing are the very reason why we have an embarrassing coach and players.
Berhalter out. We still have the same issues as 6-8 years ago. Still no striker... We have nearly no depth. Dest is down, the RB play is awful. The Gio Reyna drama should have been enough to move on. Pulisic should play the 9 in a 4-2-3-1 with Musah under him. Fill up the other 4 spots with midfielders.
Just like telling one of your best players before their first World Cup they aren’t going to play, wrong decision yet again. But we also have people above him who aren’t capable of making a better decision.
They should have sacked him after the World Cup. He was out coached by in the knockout round. He was unable to adapt and therefore all his tactics were wrong.
Bare minimum Greg, all you pundits saying after the World Cup that he got the job done. Not only that but he sets the tone and culture for the team. He has made out players weak. We need someone to challenge them.
Berhalter has actually been punching way above his weight with the USMNT. His club coaching record would indicate that he is not a good manager--at all. I suppose that is finally catching up with him now.
If major changes aren't made with not only the manager but the entitled players, then we will be embarrassed in the WC. Host nations should make it to the knockouts, but I'm not sure we can beat any team that qualifies.
It's called RELEGATION! Because this country doesn't do any relegation with futbol at any level, THE PLAYERS AND COACHES DOESN'T UNDERSTAND DESPERATION. That's it.
Like what was the objective, telling the team it’s 1-1? To park the bus and go for a tie? Cuz if that was the case, Panama still went on to score again and beat Bolivia, and if we went for the draw against Uruguay and succeeded, we’d have been fucked. Absolute boneheaded American coaching and I’m so sick of it
100 percent the players fault, i dont know how people cant see that they just arnt playing good football, bad touches, no attack creativity. just nothing.
I want home gone like just about everyone else. But do we trust the higher ups in US soccer to hire a better coach? They’ll find another puppet to control.
Players are terrible, the only “stars” on the team are “maybe” Pulisic and Reyna, they wouldn’t even make it on a practice squad on countries like Argentina, Germany, Belgium or Italy
Cindy Parlow Cone’s USSF priorities seem to be focused on maintaining the status quo for the US men’s national team, rather than striving for excellence and rivaling top nations like Argentina. This approach may be driven by her desire to prioritize gender parity in salaries, as improving the men’s team could potentially divert resources and attention away from the women’s team. Hopefully she will soon see that this approach is untenable and counterproductive to her own priorities.
